July measurement challenge

If you are ready for a truly different type of challenge this challenge is for you. Welcome to the second month of our measurement challenge. Our check in day will always be Monday. However, the first measurements will be on July 1st. So many people often over look the inches that they might be dropping and worry about the weight so much. However, your weight can greatly differ if you are gaining muscle mass. Hence the reason this challenge was born.

Here is how it works... You will start with setting a goal of inches lost for the month of July. Every Monday for one month we will measure our chest, waist, hips, thighs and upper arms (biceps). Don't forget that it is important to make sure you are measuring the exact same spot every week!! You also need to remember to either double your thigh and arm measurement or measure both right and left. We will also have some fitness challenges or nutrition challenges each week. The biggest loser from each week will get to decide the challenge for the next week (squats, push ups, sit ups, stairs etc.)

It should look something like this

Goal: 5 inches
Week 1 measurements
Thighs: 42 inches (this number was doubled)
Arm: 15 right 14 left = 29 inches
Waist: 32 inches
Hips: 40 inches
Chest: 38 inches

PLEASE COPY THIS EACH WEEK! I will also keep track of this on a google spread sheet and share it weekly.

    OK, just so I am doing this right, is there a proper way to measure? Should I be measuring where my navel is, around the hip bone, or in between? Maybe a dumb question, but I want to do this right.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_8505369_measure-waist-tape-measure.html Here is a little article on how to measure correctly. The main thing I stress to everone is to make sure you are measuring the exact same location every time.

    I personally measure two different spots on my abs because that is my key focus area. However, I only report my waist measurement.

    LADIES THAT HAPPEN TO BE PART OF THIS LAST TIME WE WILL USE YOUR LAST MEASUREMENT FOR JUNE AS YOUR FIRST FOR JULY.

    I AM JUST NEEDING TO GET YOUR STARTING POINT GOING INTO THE CHALLENGE.

    I'm in it again. Here's my last measurement for June to be used as the 1st measurement for July:

    Goal: 8 inches
    Week 1 Measurements
    Thighs: 58 inches (doubled)
    Arm: 29 inches (doubled)
    Waist: 40.5 inches
    Hips: 50.5 inches
    Chest: 42 inches

    Don't forget I need to know what your goal is for the month. Last month we had some people drop 1 inch in the month and other drop over 10 inches!!!

    Hello all, so excited about this. I am in a wedding on july 23rd and my dress does not fit yet... My husband said that I need to lose about an inch just under my chest so it fits....

    I hope to lose 5 inches...

    Waist 36.0
    Hips 40.5
    Chest 36.0
    L Arm 11.0
    R Arm 11.0
    L Leg 23.0

    Chest - 35.5"
    Arms - 22" total
    Thighs - 46" total

    I just finished working on the spread sheet. I have added everyone that has given me measurements and a goal. I will still contiune to add people until July 1st. So far we have 11 people ready to go with all of their details!! July is going to be a good month
  • This looks fun! I'll get my measurements in tomorrow. Where do you guys measure the chest, on top of the girls or just under them? And any advice how to determine a realistic a goal amount of inches to lose?
