Hey, just wanted to let you know that the body fat% I gave you was wrong unless my body gained body fat since I last checked (god, I hope not! LOL). It is actually 30.9 % according to my scale.

I'll give my info though I'm confused as to how t can mean much - how accurate is everyone with their BF % when it is so notoriously hard to measure? And surely, for the sake of research, everyone should be measured by the same method?

I'm also concerned about the amount of women trying to obtain a lower than healthy Body Fat % (like my own). I am now trying to increase mine as I've not had a period for 9 months and I'm at a risk of permanent bone and reproductive damage. But hey, that's just my 2 cents.

    Anyways;

    Sex: Female
    Age: 27
    Weight: 112.5 lbs
    Height: 5 ft 5"
    BF%: Approx 18%
MFP Daily calorie goal: 1690 (for maintenance weight)
MFP calories plus exercise calories: Avg 2000ish

If you are 18% body fat, I don't know how you would consider that unhealthy body fat? You are in the range of an athletic woman. I think the bigger thing would be to gain some muscle to increase your body weight but I am no doctor and I would listen to them.

Also, how is measuring body fat that difficult. I think the biggest thing is to measure several areas (until you get 3 consistant readings) to ensure you have a good sampling. I have done my several times (personally and by a professional trainer) with similar results. I measure 8-10 different area's to ensure i have the most amount of informaiton possible for a consistant reading.

I would be curious to here some thoughts.

Gary, do not sweat it. You are here making a change and that is the biggest thing. And before you know it, you will take your 30% body fat goal to 20% and less. Just remember build muscle and eat healthy.

    Here you go:

    Age: 39
    Sex: F
    Weight: 190 pounds
Body Fat : 19% (Bod Pod)
Daily Calories: 2417 to 3022 not counting exercise + more for exercise. I use the 80% method instead of the 500 calorie per pound goal method. I eat no less then 80% of my total energy expenditure. When I'm doing my normal routine, I expend 3022 per day not counting exercise and 2417 is 80% of that, so I have to eat at least 2417. When I workout, I add those calories to the 3022 and multiply the total by 80% to get the minimum I have to eat for the day.

    BF Goal (optional): 12%
