Dearest MyFitnessPals,
A few facts about me --- you don't have to read all of this, but I'm putting myself out there so I can help others if they are able to relate to parts of my story and/or get inspired or motivated.
MFP starting day = 3/12/11
*I'm 5'2''
*Highest Weight - 155 lbs. (2010)
*Starting Weight on MFP - 139 lbs. (March '11)
*Normal Weight - 125 -130 lbs (2005-2009)
*Goal Weight - 120 and maintain
*Weighed in today (July 6, 2011) at 121 and I'm happy with that
I have always been into exercise/health/nutrition since I can remember! I am going to college for Diagnostic Radiology and work as a Strength Instructor on the weekends. I have worked at the YMCA for three years now. Throughout high school, I maintained 125-130 lbs at 5'2'', which is a normal weight for my height - but I wasn't toned. I struggled with an eating disorder ever since I was about 10 years old, but am in recovery. And I did this the absolute 100% healthy way!!
Why I gained in the first place: My mother died a month before I graduated high school, didn't have any family support, moved away to college, left an abusive relationship, and other several stressful events (that i prefer not to disclose) in that year (2009-2010) caused me to just give up on life. I didn't really want to live anymore, much less get up out of bed to go exercise!! So, going from being super active to.... being in bed for two months, in the hospital for one, heading for the vending machine because I was broke and not caring anymore, and being put on lots of medications - didn't do too much good for my body. I gained over 30 pounds in 2-3 months. For that next year, I just decided I didn't care about the weight I had gained, because I really didn't care about anything. Blah, blah, blah = I decided that enough was enough and I wanted my 'old self' back. I wanted to be the "real" me again. So I did it! Lots of ups and downs and it was not easy at times... but if I can do this, you do it!! *anything is possible*
The 'after' picture is supposed to say "July 2011" at the top = 7 months total!
