I did a steps and abs class this morning. Then I just spent a fortune on camping supplies. I had to get us new sleeping bags that are for cold weather. $40 a piece. I have enough cushion maybe I dont need one of those LOL. I didnt work out Monday or yesterday and I felt it today while I was doing my class this morning. Last night my hubby was late and by they time he got home I just didnt want to go. I cant do that again. I need to make sure that I go. Since I gained 2 lbs this week now I need to lose 14 instead of 12. :sad: I hope I can do it.

Water... I have a glass that holds exactly 16oz so I just keep that filled and get at least 4 down in a day. I, too, love water so it's not a big problem. I try to get 8 to 10 8oz glasses but avoid going much over that because electrolyte balance is affected if you drink too much H2O.

Off to the mall right now. Sounds fun but unfortunately I have to go buy a new suit for a symposium type thing on Friday. Neither of my other two really nice ones fit at all :frown: so I guess that means shopping!! Not the ideal reason for shopping but I guess I will take it.0 -
it was a good expo. always so much information. got a free meter, a pedometer, lots of other goodies. funny thou they are high in carbs. which is what a diabetic go by. in fact have been watching mine and they have been running higher amounts than i should eat. so next week i am changing up my weight loss plan a little different to get this all in the right amounts. like my lunch today was 65 it's only suppose to be 45 per meal. and i am showing signs of a high. i like to start things on the beginnings of a week. read all my info to get new info.

My name is Leigh (just so no one has to call me lcorrell14) . I am 24 years old, live in Virginia, work as a Public Information Specialist for our county, have been with my awesome boyfriend for 1.5 years.
Unfortunately, during that time, we both have put on around 10-15 pounds! Eek. Goes to show we're comfortable with each other, I guess. :huh:
We're now both working on working out. Hehe. We've tried working out together, but, we've found that it's better if we do it separately and stick to supporting each other outside of the gym. We're both extremely independent and sometimes butt heads when we're constantly doing everything together. It's nice to know we're both concentrating on the same goals, though. It really helps the motivation. :glasses:
Ummm ... what else. Well, I am 270 as of my last step on the scales. I was due to weigh-in yesterday, but didn't make it, so I'm going to do so this evening. *crossing my fingers* I have been eating better and exercising more only for a little over a week. My new job has me sitting behind a desk all day, so I wasn't really concentrating on my food at all . . . until now.

I did the same thing this morning and lost 1 lb!!! I did good last week and didn't weigh myself.
Sorry I didn't post my foods yesterday and logged everything in today and wound up with 440 cals left for the day. Oh Well. Wasn't hungry either. Here is what I've eaten today.

L- Ham and cheese lean pocket
S- 100 cal cheesecake

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Never did make it to the gym to really try out my HRM, but sat for an hour and sort of figured it out. After I went back to bed, I slept until 12:30 (guess I really needed it), then showered and Mike took me out for lunch. I had yummy but very very bad for me stuffed french toast (texas toast bread cut longways through the center, filled with cream cheese, french toasted, then covered with strawberries and whipped cream). I plugged it into my food counter, and it was 860 calories for two slices! Well, that was with me guestimating amounts. I did better for dinner, with ahi tuna and green beans, although I did partake of a half a twice baked potato. Only two meals today, and I went over my calories by 55! I am sort of thinking about changing into comfy clothes and doing some pushups and situps and planks for a bit, then stretching. That should get me through those extra calories! At least there's no cake, pie, or ice cream in the house. Mike keeps apologizing that my birthday isn't more exciting, but what can you do when one kid has karate followed by cub scouts? lol. Mike's been gone since 5 with that one, and I'm sitting here on the laptop typing and watching Crusoe on TIVO with two of the other kids and waiting for laundry to get done... Not as much fun as a party, but way less fattening! :laugh: Hope you're all enjoying your night!

Good evening ladies..
Thank you all for the congrats on meeting 1/2 way! I took it easy today - weight trained for 30 min but that was it. Just sore today alot, and also I have unilateral submandibular lymphanitis.(sp. ck.) Basically, under my lower jaw on the left side my lymph glands there are tender, swollen and painful. Went to the doc and he said wait for about 3 more days to see if it goes away and if it doesnt or if it gets worse, they will do bloodwork. Yuck, it hurts :frown: Started getting nausea a lil bit ago and it still hasnt passed..and my bp was up-borderline hypertension- despite losing 55lbs so far and a good diet low in sodium and plenty of exercise..could be genetic so they are checking it again in 2 weeks and if it isnt down they will start me on a diuretic..Im 23 and I may have to start bp medicine :noway: My dad said he started having probs with his bp at age 26.. so go figure..
Blah, sorry to be a wet blanket..I just needed to vent a little! :sad: Thanks for listening :flowerforyou:

Foodwise today- b-fiber one cereal, skim milk, protein shake/snack-baby carrots/lunch turkey provolone sub from publix, reduced fat dark chocolate mint wilky way (150cals for the 2 sticks-they were yummy!) snack- 10-15 strawberries, kashi bar/dinner- 4oz grilled ckn, 1/3 cup bowtie pasta, 1/4cup alfredo sauce and 1 cup of steamed broccoli.
Robin- Happy bday and great job on your loss this week! You rock!!
chipper- wow, arent you proud of yourself for NOT eating when before you would have?? SHows how much you are changing and becoming more aware and making better decisions!! Good job :happy:

Deb- with my water, I use a 32oz pineapple willies cup at home and keep it filled constantly and tote it with me all around the house..when I am not at home, I use a 1 liter (like 30 something ounces) bottled water bottle and try to drink atleast 2 refill per day. I bring a cup of water with me when I am driving somewhere, that way I can sip on it on the way....I drink anywhere from 60 up to 120oz of water a day. I had to train myself to do that too, and on my off days I still slack a lil bit in the water dept.

Hi Ladies!!
Well, Thursdays are my long days so if I don't check in now, it isn't going to happen!! Yesterday was a good day so I'm hoping today goes just as well even though my eating will be sporadic with classes and stuff. Here's the plan:
B: Oatmeal with silk light vanilla soy milk, coffee with gingerbread coffeemate
S: almonds and raisins
L: honeycrisp apple and fiber one bar
chicken breast, and steamed veggies or a sweet potato
As for exercise, I am playing flag football tonight so depending on how much I play and how long it takes I might do shred when I get home. we will see!

morning all:
today for me is just doing allot of reading and meeting the inspector at son's house at noon. getting all my facts (new & old) in order to redo my eating plan for next week.
have already done my workout. darn HRM isn't working right. it registers real high than real low for the first 10 mins of the workout. i had readjusted my strap, now i have to find the right spot again. this has happened times before. i have had it for a few years. my strap can be real touchy. i think i might ask for a new polar F6 for christmas.
off to shower and dress.

Morning ladies. Just a quick check in. Had light cardio last night (burned around 250 calories). Ate a bowl of cheerios for dinner and a handful of corn chips...then had a 1/2 slice of pie...BAD BAD KRISTIN! But probably wasn't too terrible...only over by a bit. Today...we will see. My knees were a little sore yesterday so I may go WAY light on cardio tonight. Friday I already planned on taking off since the race is Saturday morning, but we will see about this evening. Can't wait to get back to the routine next week!

So I don't know what the deal is - two mornings in a row I've weighed in a 1 lb heavier than my check-in from a few days ago. I know I didn't go over my maintenance calories by 3500 over the last week so I'm confused as to why it's sticking there for 2 days in a row. But, I guess that's why I instituted the 'weigh in once a week' policy... I've just been keeping close track again since coming out my plateau 2 weeks ago because I want to make sure things are moving in the right direction and if I have to do something to change my plan I want to know about it before weigh-in day. I think I need to do a bit of an over-haul with grains. My body reacts to two things: increased sodium and more grains. I eat a lot of veggies but I need even more as my complex carb source it would seem!
Amazingly, I haven't planned my food for the day yet so I can't post my menu! Drives me nuts when I don't get that done before bed. My day feels all weird :laugh:
Lauryn, I COMPLETELY agree with what you said about self-consciousness. This is also the first time that I haven't felt judgmental about my weight. In fact, this has spilled over to real life to some degree for me where now, because I know my weight is changing in a good way, I'm okay with talking about it in some way. Before I completely avoided any acknowledgment that people weighed anything lol
Well, almost the weekend! Time for another mini challenge?? Hmm... Let's step it up from last week. This weekend I challenge all of you to:
1) stay within your calories
2) keep 80% of your food healthy
3) get SOME kind of exercise both Saturday and Sunday
Can you do it?? Of COURSE you can!!! Take today and tomorrow to strategize if necessary! How will you help yourself through the weekend; a notorious time for treats and slipping up a little? Where are your weak spots and what will you do to overcome them? Cathy was a great example to us the other day in that department!
For me, I need to plan out my meals and space out mini meals more often (every 2 hours instead of every 3 like I usually do). This way something is scheduled soon if I start to feel tempted. Sometimes we have last minute plans like going over to my in-laws for supper or something. If that comes up this weekend I will bring a salad with me so I can fill up on that (although they eat quite healthfully) and ask for my husband's help in avoiding the huge, sugary desserts they always have. I'll be using the gym both days although I don't know if there's a class for me to take, I may just use machines and tread mill. So that's my plan to get through!!
I have an obstacle today too - I take my children to play group and there are always left-over starbucks cookies and muffins and also cheese and crackers for parents to snack on. SO a calorie-buster (although the starbucks stuff I can avoid, still the cheese and crackers pack a pretty big calorie punch!). So I have to have a plan to avoid any of that this week. The last few weeks I've failed this test.

Although I did this before (weight loss) it's not easy anymore. I used to be good at watching what I ate and counting my calories. For some odd reason it seems a bit more challenging now. I'm trying hard to lose this weight before Christmas and so that i can feel healthy again.0 -

Good morning ladies or afternoon for some!
I cant keep myself off the scale this week. Probably because of the gain. I was down a pound yesterday but back up today. It is PMS time and I do gain so I am hopeful but still cant seem to stay away from the scale. I am only going to be able to do Shred for exercise today. I couldnt go to gym while little one is in school as I had a class at the school for volunteer training. Now I have to make it to the store and then to pick up the little one. My mom is coming for dinner and I have no food in my house!
I am up for Pedal's mini challenge this weekend! Friday night I am going out to dinner with some old co-workers so that will be my 20% of bad.
No list for meals today for me as I am just not sure yet.
