    bad me... :frown:
I really thought I would be able to avoid my emotions manifesting as food today but I failed. Miserably. And I can't believe how horrible I feel both physically and emotionally after my fiasco which involved peanut butter, chocolate chips and a spoon   :frown: I didn't have much supper (which is a shame because I made a wonderful chicken dinner) but I feel totally ill from my really poor choice. I'm just bummed because I know I need to be really on-point to catch up to my goal check-ins after my September plateau. I know all I can do is go forward and keep plugging away but it still just plain sucks. On the "plus" side we are now out of chocolate chips so I'm saved from myself, so to speak. Although I feel like I've learned my lesson right now.
Just had to vent / confess.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Mona won't make it though this - it's just a matter of when her body finishes letting go. Just awful. :frown:

    good morning all.

awh..pedal..i think we all understand what you went through with the food. i know i would have done the same thing. my prayers are still with mona in her difficult time...

i have nothing to do today except exercise...no house hunting, yea!!! we are just waitin for the sellers to say if they will pay for the repairs. if they don't we will begin again. i was planning on going through all my clothes and put away and weeding summer. see what last years winter fit and weed them.

suppose to be a decent day today. it rained all day yesturday and by night my whole driveway and back to the gate was flooded. (we took the dog out. he doesn't like rain and would just stand under the umbrella with you). the water came to my ankle. we don't have access to the back yard through the house. you have to go out the side door back to the gate. we want to change that someday. we rent, so need to do something the landlord would approve. after a few trips he finally went potty. he really had to go this morning. .
well off to a workout of some sort, can't decide on BL cardio max or treadmill, or step or wii fit. need to decide to get it done.

    Hey ladies..

Pedal, my condolences go out to you. I cant imagine what you are feeling. If peanutbutter and chocolate chips help you through this, then you are entitled. You work hard, a few days to grieve wont affect your weight. :flowerforyou:

Thank you for the well wishes everyone.

Spent all day literally at the primarary care clinic(I dont have insurance) and then the ER. Even after blood tests, they couldnt figure out whats causing my upper abdominal pain. The ER doc just left it as gastritis and prescribed an antacid- that costs $45 for 7 pills! Yea right! I just got OTC prilosec and took one last night, and one this morning. The pain isnt gone, though the severity has reduced a little. They arent worried about my swollen lymph node yet, they said wait for 3 more days.

I have had very little of an appetite - just trying to stay hydrated with water and powerade zero. Got on the scale this morning and I am down to 191.2.............lost almost 4lbs since Wednesday :frown: and  at the same time.

Well off to get some rest then go get cat litter...

Have a great weekend ladies  :flowerforyou:

Katy, I have an ulcer that creates the worst upper abdominal pain imaginable. You might wanna WebMD up info on ulcers, if that could be it. Also, I've been in the ER before with severe pain that turned out to be Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). You might want to look into that too. Both of those conditions can be helped by specific diets. Whatever it is, I hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse than internal, unexplained pain.

Well folks, I probably gained weight this weekend. It was worth it though. My bestest from college and her boyfriend came into town, and the hubby and I took them to the Lexington Barbecue Festival. It's rated as one of the top ten food festivals in the southeast, and it was a blast!! Two bbq sandwiches and some curly fries later, I'm feeling a little full, but at least I didn't eat any of the funnel cake! It was well worth the fun times and the fun street festival today.

Went shopping afterwards and bought two new pair of pants. They were cut funny, which means I now fit into a size TEN. A 10. Holy crap! I haven't been there in a decade. I am flabbergasted. They are probably cut wrong, but I'm cool with that, heh heh. A size ten. I'm super happy. Also, they were $4.98 each. Can't beat the local Steve & Barry's!!!

Hope you are all having wonderful Saturday's, Sexy in Sixers!

Katy, I'm sorry your not feeling well. Sometimes Dr's don't know what's wrong with people. Hope you feel better soon.

Pedal, it's OK. The time will pass, then everything can return back to normal.

Well, today I didn't do to good, although I'm within my calories. I didn't eat any breakfast or lunch. In fact, I didn't eat anything until 4:30 this afternoon.

    B- Nothing
    L- Nothing
S- 100 cal turkey jerky about 1/2 the bag
D- Cheeseburger meatloaf, mashed tatoes, mixed veggies, and brocoli with cheese

Now I have over 700 cals left. I guess I'll have to find something later.

    Have a good night everyone!!!!

I have to get back on the ball tomorrow. I already know I won't see a loss this week but now I'm hoping for no gain. Dinner tonight was pizza. Great choice... But I wanted to do something nice today that was light and fun so I got fabric and started work on hallowe'en costumes for Ava and Leith. The down side was that I need groceries and ran short on time all at once. I only had 3 pieces but still... that with the other indiscretions I know it's not great news. Missed my work out today too. So I'm determined to be back at the good fight tomorrow.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I hope you guys have done better with my challenge than I am!

    Good morning ladies!

Just a quick check in with a recipe I found on another thread. For anyone loving to the in-season pumpkin...I have not tried it but it sounds yummy!

    Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake

    serves 1

1 cup Almond Breeze vanilla almond milk
    1 scoop vanilla protein powder
    1 tablespoon ground flax seed
    2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
    1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
    1/4 teaspoon cinammon
    2-3 Splenda packets to taste

Add ingredients to blender and mix well. Enjoy!

Not sure on the calories. They where not listed. Enjoy. I know I am going to give it a try sonn!

Hey girls. I had some pumpkin bread last night, but still had 500 cals left. Of course the calorie thing yelled at me because I didn't get in at least 1200 cals. Went out last night with hubby and stopped by the conveinent store to find something to eat and walked out with a Diet Dr Pepper. It sucks trying to eat when your not hungry and are trying to change your habits. Oh well.

Today for Breakfast made a big breakfast, for lunch will be leftovers of chinese or breakfast, then dinner, I've got a chili in the crock pot and will make cornbread to go with.

Need to clean the house and do laundry today, but will be slow because my back went out on my last night. At least I got my shopping done.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

    Hi ladies!

Eek! Sorry I have been a little absent this weekend! It was/is homecoming weekend here so there was a big football game yesterday and lots going on so I haven't had a chance to check in. Today is time to catch up on homework, do some cleaning and laundry, and workout!!! I didn't have a chance Friday or Saturday to workout so I'm looking forward to it today!! I think I will go for a run because it is gorgeous and cool here and then maybe shred later tonight.

As for food, with tailgating and everything this weekend I tried to be pretty good plus I did a lot of walking so that earned me some extra cals!! Today I'm going to keep it pretty light i think.

B: whole wheat toast with I can't believe its not butter, and sugar free honey
L: Activia strawberry banana yogurt and deli turkey slices
    S: Honeycrisp apple
D: Birdseye Chicken Voila or Chicken breast with a sweet potato and green beans. (haven't decided)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Sounds like everyone is getting into the fall spirit with lots of yummy fall dishes. A lot of you have mentioned chili and I was just wondering if anyone had a good chili recipe to share that could be made in a crock pot. My mom gave me hers but it's pretty basic so I thought I would see what you all enjoy. Enjoy your sunday!!

    Hi everyone,
I am back from my camping trip.... I froze my bootie right off. IT was COLD. I also blew my weekend. I didnt eat alot during the day yesterday because of driving to the camp and then setting up the tent and then taking all of the boys to their stations during the day. They got to do a nature walk and then shoot BB'S and archery and crafts and some relay games. Then we made spaghetti for dinner. Blew it there... I was so hungry that I had 2 servings of spaghetti along with a salad and garlic bread. This morning I had bacon and eggs and biscuits and gravy and we even made some donuts. I didnt sleep well during the night last night because I was cold and I kept having to get up to go to the bathroom. So I came home and just lounged for awhile. I will have to make up for it tomorrow. Of course the kids are out of school tomorrow... Teacher work day. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was fun and I cant wait to go camping again I just need to make sure I eat so I dont pig out when dinner comes.

Connie, sometimes we have those periods of time and you just have to roll with it and move on. Did you have fun?

I spent the day making my daughter's hallowe'en costume (Little Red Ridinghood). I bought a deep blood red velvet, deep red satin and satin ribbon (not to mention the "golden" buttons with leaf embossing). It was really difficult to sew because of all the different versions of slippery fabric all at once, but now that it's done it was so worth it and she is SO excited! Next I get to make a horse costume for my little guy. Too cute! I love making costumes. You can get such cute ones in stores but for me there's just nothing quite like homemade. Although I guess by now you can kind of get that impression of me... If I CAN make it myself, I WILL

    Tomorrow's meals:

    1: homemade multi-grain porridge
2: homemade porridge muffin w/ homemade apple butter
3: steamed broccoli & carrots tossed w/ olive oil, balsamic vinegar and toasted sesame seeds
4: vanilla ice cream flavoured protein shake made w/ skim milk, 1 gala apple
5: roasted chicken w/ brussels sprouts, baked sweet potatoes & brown rice
6: soy chocolate ice cream bar

I have dance tomorrow night so that will be my main exercise since I'll be making costumes again!

Almost at the start of week 3! Let's make this last day of week 2 count okay ladies?

Morning ladies! Sorry I was MIA this weekend. Just busy. Here's a bit of an update on me:

Friday night was fine...nothing too eventful. No workout...but ate okay. Had some pasta to load up on carbs for my run the next day. Probably went over in calories a bit thought without the workout.

Satuday was my run and it was awesome!!! Great weather, HUGE turn-out! I am by no means a fast runner and this was my first race ever and I think I ran around a 9 minute mile...so definetely room for improvement, but I am still proud of myself. At the end there was a HUGE hill we had to run up and I wasn't sure if I'd make it, but I did! SO glad I did this!!! Then my girlfriend and I went out for coffee and shared an apricot scone, but didn't feel guilty at all! The rest of the day was fine...I was busy cleaning the house and doing laundry. Also ran some errands. That night I made quiche and we hung out with a few friends.

Sunday I was up early, my husband went hunting (as he had also done on Saturday) but I couldn't get back to sleep so started reading Nights in Rodanthe (by Nicolas Sparks) and ended up reading almost half the book. Then decided to go for a run...which was not the brightest idea since the wind wasCRAZY and almost blew me over a few times! But I felt great after I was done. Then I had more errands to run and a few loads of laundry to finish. I made chicken fried steak with mashed potatos and gravy...HORRIBLE but SO tasty! Then watched a movie with the hubby and went to bed.

SO...onto a new week. I have NO idea what the scale will say this week, and I'm actually quite scared, but we will see. Anyways...I will check back a little later with the meal plan for today...need to get to work. Have a FABULOUS morning friends!

Good morning everyone! Last day of Week 2!

I think I may actually pull off going into week 3 with a loss! Last week I had gained 2 pounds. Now I am back down at starting weight and if I loose anything by tomorrow I will have a loss. That makes me a happy camper. Especially considering I went out to dinner Friday and Saturday nights and didnt make great choices. I didnt overeat which is wonderful. I have noticed that I dont overeat very much. I guess this all happens in baby steps. Friday I had PF Changs with some old co-workers for a birthday. I love their lettace wraps and they sound healthy but most chinese food isnt. Somehow they pack in some calories. Then Saturday night was Cheesecake Factory and will the name should say it. I had dessert, I dont usually but who can pass up a slice of pumpkin pie cheesecake, I will tell ya who.....me!

Todays plans are to walk 6 to 7 miles while little guy is in school.

    Eating...

I am not sure as the cupboards are empty in my house. I will have to be creative until I can make it to the store.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Kristin, congrats on completing and feeling so good about your first 5k!! That's so fabulous :drinker:
Cathy, you're very fortunate to have a piece of cardio equipment in your home!!

Well, it's not looking good for me for my weigh-in this week unfortunately. I haven't been avoiding the scale like I was for a few weeks there and I'm still up. With one more day to see the number fall only to be the SAME as last week, I'm not too excited about the morning. I know sometimes I'll see the week's weight go all at once so I guess it's technically possible, but the increase is warranted so I guess I've got my work cut out for me in coming weeks!!!

    Have a great Monday everyone!

Rhiannon...THANKS!:flowerforyou: And...don't worry...you will bounce back! You always do. If you're up a little tomorrow, just think of it as a little added motivation to make great choices next week! The same may be true for me...and we CAN do this!!! Have a FABULOUS day without worrying!

I ate HORRIBLY this weekend. The scale will not be my friend tomorrow.

    I didn't workout at all.
I felt horrilbe this morning.....so guilty for sabotaging myself like that all weekend.
    Today, I am doing better.
    B: Instant Oatmeal
L: Deli Turkey on 100 calorie pita w/ mustard and a yogurt
Snack is going to kill me....we're having birthday cake for a co-worker

pedal...i enjoy my treadmill...DH says he is scared for the day it dies....i use to have an entire gym. i had (still have) recumbant bike, treadmill (can't live without), eliptical, complete weight workout station with all the goodies. but, when we needed money and most weren't being used and we losing the house to forclosure, we sold all but the bike and treadmill. sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's not. i miss the weights. i love working out on weight machines.

kistin...congrats on your 5K. bet that felt soooo good.

pdx...you will have a loss. it seems like your monthly pattern.. at least you know

haven't seen cass, katy, deb, robin, lauryn yet today. or the others.
shanell is around we were discussing where and who is all doing the thanksgiving this year.

Ok, we all need a big kick in the pants! Well, many of us anyway. So group, what do we do? RISE TO THE CHALLENGE!!! Let's bust it this coming week and see just how much we can do, okay? One week. No lapses, no excuses, just bring all you've got and see what you can do. That means saying no to all that tempting hallowe'en candy, finding ways to make the right choice if you have to eat out and avoiding your own trouble spots (be it late night eating, snacking and not accounting for those cals... whatever it is!). Who is with me?

Now, Cass, Katy, Deb, Robin, Lauryn we're waiting on you  And don't let me see my 20-somethings crew falling apart here. In it to the end, remember?? Let's go ladies. PUSH IT!

Rhiannon - Sounds like a plan!! I was really worried about this upcoming week with all the tempting Halloween goodies!! But making a point to do this together as a team and stay in control is just what we need!! LET'S DO IT!!!!!

So far so good today. Got up early and did the shred dvd and am hoping for a light run later this evening. (By the way Kristin - WAY TO GO on the 5K!!!)

    Meals:
B: oatmeal with silk light vanilla soy milk
L: two scrambled eggs with fat free cheese and an activia strawberry banana yogurt
D: chicken breast, sweet potato, and peaches
S: maybe an apple or fiber one bar if I even need it.

Today is busy so it's a little easier to stay in control when you don't even have the time to grab snacks. :)

I'm pumped for this week now ladies, great idea!!!

Heehee, I haven't posted until now since I just got back from the gym and weigh in.
Looks like I've gained 5 lbs this weekend. Barbecue festival with my best friend, dinner with a relative... it all adds up. I'm gonna deluge myself in water today and tomorrow morning to see if I can flush some of the sodium away from all this bad food. I'm hoping that will help.

    EDIT: 3 or 4 lbs, not 5 gained. It's a slight difference.

I'm up for the newest challenge. I will only eat within my calorie budget (although this includes Halloween candy for me:wink: ).

idea!!!!! for this week why don't we post our calorie limit and how much we ate and how much we burned through exercise???? this way maybe telling and typing it will make you more mindful of what you are doing. if you go over you get punished. like 5-10 more mins of exercise the next day or take away 10 calories from your total for the next day.
i know i put in everything. no matter what it is. if it goes in my mouth it is recorded. i don't like knowing i might go over if i eat something.
    just an idea........

    LOL...Good evening all!

Love reading the updates..you guys put a smile on my face

Weekend was yucky, but yesterday and today are better. I actually started eating again yesterday and today- though not back up to my normal intake. No exercise yet except for yesterday running around outside a lil bit with my baby girl.

Still not feeling 100% but Im about 65-75%! I have actually lost .5lb more since Friday...So Im at like 191 this morning..I figured when I started drinking again and eating more it would go back up...but it actually went down another .5 ?? Oh well.

So yes, I will be in for the be held super accountable week...could we make it next week though??? LOL cuz I KNOW this weekend being Halloween I will have a cupcake or something small like that.

Oh Kristin- I have tried the pumpkin kisses...and wow, they are YUMMY!! I also tried a few bites(honestly just a few bites) of the pumppkin pie blizzard from DQ last night and it is VERY yummy as well (it even as pieces of pie crust! lol) Congrats on your very first 5k!!

Okay well no exercise today- studying for bio quiz tomorrow! Dinner will be baked ckn breast, peas and shells and chz...though I dont know if I will eat the shells and chz- if I do, it will only be like 1/4 cup. (They pack some MAJOR cals!!)

I may try to go to the gym at school and do the elliptical for a lil bit tomorrow...

Well off to start dinner, study buddy and her daughter are coming at 6! I may check in later, if not- Ill get with you guys tomorrow for new weeks check in!!!  :flowerforyou:
