sexy in six challenge: week 2

Hello ladies. :flowerforyou: I love reading your posts; everybody is so friendly here!!
I have a problem! When I started here, I weighed in on a scale that told me I was 270. Yesterday, I weighed in on a scale in our fitness room at work that tells me I'm 280!! Eek!! I was looking to be under 270, but . . . to my surprise, I was an even 280. I KNOW I haven't gained 10 pounds in a week, hehe
I am assuming this scale is more accurate than the other. It's the kind they have at doctor's offices. The other was an old bathroom scale with a needle that bounces up.
Going to work out again this evening! :glasses: Won't step on the scale again till next weigh-in, I guess! But, I guess my starting weight is 280 ... not 270.0 -
LCorrell14...best advice...pick one scale and stick with it. I used to weigh in at the gym until I bought a fancy scale for the house...now I use the house scale only. Scales can be goofy...the most important thing is you see your weight going down! It can get very discouraging when you go from one scale that says 183lbs, one that says 188lbs and one that says 186lbs. So just stick to the same one.0
-
See now, I like coming on here and being able to see that list of numbers!! It encourages me. Thanks Ladies.
Busy day at work...can't really chat...just came on to post food and saw LC's post.0 -
Hi Cass!!!! How are you today??:flowerforyou:0

Hi Cass!!!! How are you today??:flowerforyou:
Hey girl!! :flowerforyou: I'm good...really busy at work, which is good and this morning I was given more responsibilities...so that is cool! Hubby and I are both cautious about the economy and lossing our jobs...(I'm an accountant for a travel company and he is a contract employee for Boeing.) But the added responsibilities they gave me makes me feel like I'm pretty secure here.
I just have to say I'm soooo proud of my hubby...he could have gone to McD's last night and he choose to wait until he got home to eat even though he was starving. This opened up the opportunity for me to talk to him about reaching his goal and how it will be hard and he needs to take it sersiously if he wants to lose 4 pounds a week for the next 4 weeks.
Kristin, how is the new job going? Do you love it?
I get the wonderful pleasure of my two nieces coming over tonight, but it means I will probably not get to workout.:ohwell:
I hope all is well!0 -

Hello Ladies,
I was to tierd to do shred last night, so I got it in first thing this morning. I also went for a small walk already. I am slammed & stressed with so much going on this weekend. I have a Sat. class from 9am-6pm plus 1 hour driving time each way and a halloween party I would love to attend, but with tests on monday I really should study. Sunday will be ok. My niece's b-day party. I will be happy if I can just get through it and stay on track and if I exercise both days that is even better.
Today:
1 egg, 1 toast, 1 thin slice ham, coffee w/ skim milk & 1tsp. sugar
apple
salad w/ 1 slice turkey, walnuts, 2% cheese, & salad spritzer
popcorn (almost the whole bag,oops)
lean cusine pizza
skim milk & lindt dark choc. square
Katy, Hope you get better soon:flowerforyou:
OK I already forgot what I wanted to say to everyone else. I'll try again later.:embarassed:0 -
LADIES....
I failed to plan today but I ate Oh's cereal for breakfast w/ skim milk, spinach salad for lunch and dinner will be a buffet dinner. I know!!! Sounds dangerous doesn't it. I do believe I can have some type of control. We all hope.
I also spent two hrs that I was supposed to workout today reading about fitness and eating on another site. When ever I go to a new site I just get so into it that I dont workout that day because I am reading.
I will workout tonite at the apartment gym.
Take care!!!0 -
Hey ladies!!! Looks like most of us are busy this week. That is wonderfull. Hopefully we are to busy to eat.
I did good today. I still have 210 cals left,
B- Pancakes w/ light butter and light syrup
S- Light yogurt
L- Lean pocket
S- 100 cal cheesecake
D- Chicken and rice skillet
S- I think I'll have some pumkin bread I made.
Hope everyone has a wonderful night. Later.0 -
turned out to be a long day. spent 2 1/2 hours with inspector at sons house. the realtor couldn't stay so we had to. but, he explained everything he found which turned out for the good i guess. only 2 major problems the seller has to fix and a few minor. theres water in the ceiling in the bathroom from the unit upstairs. and the dishwasher flooded the laundry room water was coming out from under the wall not the front of the unit. so we think since it has been empty for a year some seals were cracked and when turned on they broke. tried to get the water up. didn't want to just leave the water. not to bad for a 20 year old home.
too much sodium today, swelling up. having trouble staying off the scale this week. better than eating. tomorrow drink lots of water to flush.
DH is having problems with his new manager now. when he is upset about work, he totally blocks me and home life out. so i guess for the next few days until he gets over it, i am just here. oh, well, my life goes on.
well, snack time.
ttyl, cathy0 -
Good evening all!
Thanks Deb, I hope I get better soon as well!
Foodwise today:
bfast- fiber one cereal, skim milk and protein shake
lunch- 1/2 grilled ckn sandwich and side salad with FF honey mustard dressing from chik fil a
snack- I totally splurged- even though I wasnt hungry, I just wanted to taste this little buddy...a "big bite doozy" from great american cookie company..yum!
dinner- other 1/2 of grilled ckn sandwich from chik fil a
No exercise today.
Today Im worse then yesterday! Hence, the smaller food intake..I just havent been hungry! Started running low grade fever about 6p so took ibuprofen and drinking some powerade zero and trying to drink water. I am going to the doc in the morning- the tenderness and pain is spreading down my neck now.
Not sure how I will be as far as food and exercise for the next 2-3 days- not going to exercise besides some core ball exercises. Trying to conserve what lil energy I have and rest so I can try and fight whatever this is.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and makes smart decisions that make you feel good :drinker:
:flowerforyou:0 -
Take care of yourself Katy! And you too Cathy, don't let you're hubby's grumpies get to you. You've always got us!
I tried out my new HRM today, but evidently didn't read the directions very well.:grumble: I did manage to set a heart rate zone, but it kept beeping at me during my warm up and cool down, and I couldn't figure out how to get it to shut up! And when slo-robics was over, I couldn't find any of my info, no average, no maximum, no nuthin... But I had been paying attention, and kept mostly between 160 and 180, generally in the 170's. So, I knew I was doing good, as if the sweat dripping in my eyes didn't tell me that:noway: I came home, and RE-read the instructions, and I think I know what I did wrong, so I'll try it again tomorrow.
B: Cinnamon oatmeal w/ 1 TBSP each of raisins and slice almonds, and a 1/4 cup skimmed milk
S: protein bar and 20 wonderful red grapes... so big, so juicy
L: chocolate peanut butter banana protein shake made with almond milk
S: Quaker 90 cal chocolate mint mini bite rice cake (just bought them, they were yummy) and 2% milk (I grabbed the wrong one, I meant to have skimmed)
Rotisserie chicken thigh, skin removed, 1/2 cup chicken rice, salad with tomatoes and red & yellow peppers (I was so peeved to find out that my spinach and mushrooms had gone icky)
Tomorrow, I'm planning on going early to the gym, after dropping off the kids, will have to be very vigilant about my food, because after the oldest is done with swim practice, we're driving a couple of hours to a hotel, because Saturday morning, he's got to be at the meet by the ungodly hour of 7 for warmups. No way I'm getting up early enough to drive it in the morning! Not sure if the room has a fridge or not, so I'm just going to try my best to pick good choices from what the concession stand has. I'm guessing that it'll be like the all day wrestling meets we used to do where there would be hard boiled eggs and fruit and stuff to choose from. Will try to let you all know how I did when I get home... Have a good night and a good weekend, if I don't get on here.
-Robin0 -
My check in for tomorrow!
1: scrambled eggs (1 whole egg, 3 tbsp egg whites) w/ low sodium salsa on sodium-free Ezekiel toast
2: 2 brazil nuts, chocolate protein shake
3: left-overs (whole wheat elbow pasta w/ grilled chicken, peas & primavera tomato sauce)
4: vanilla ice cream flavour protein shake made w/ 1 cup skim milk
5: 2 carrots w/ cashew pistachio brazil nut butter, 2 cups air popped popcorn
6: gala apple & 1/3 cup split pea soup
7: roasted rosemary orange chicken, 1 cup steamed broccoli & baked butternut squash
8: soy chocolate ice cream sandwich
I'll see whether I can get some cardio in but I need to allow my upper body to recover from my insane work out yesterday so we'll see. This meal plan takes me over by 40 cals because I have a long walk to and from the library in the morning but it doesn't account for any additional work out.
Katy, so sorry you're not feeling well! I hope you get it sorted out soon.
Cathy, sorry to hear about your grumpy DH woes. That's a tough one :flowerforyou:
Kristin, thanks for the chat!
Cass, I'm missing you girl! Glad you're feeling good about your responsibilities at work though
Deb, you always seem to do well getting through your busy schedule
Okay, another late night. I have to make myself get more sleep. That will be a mini goal next week I think!! Although I'll be sewing hallowe'en costumes for Ava & Leith (pronounced LAYth) so I may be up later than I want.
Good night and since I may not get to check in until later tomorrow, have a GREAT FRIDAY!
OH! ************ On magazine stands now, Oxygen Magazine has their annual 'Nutrition Special' and there are a bunch of great recipes including mocktails, appys, all kinds of things that can help you get through weekends. Check it out!! ****************

Morning friends! Just getting to work. No big plans for today. Didn't work out last night and not working out tonight...I have my run tomorrow morning, and my legs were sore all day yesterday. So...another night off should help. Gonna make some chicken with pasta for dinner...carbs for the run! Need to do some laundry and grocery shopping this evening...oh boy! Then tomorrow is cleaning day for me and still need to get my Halloween decorations up! Well...here's the meal plan so far for today:
B-1 c. Multigrain Cheerios, 1/2 c. skim milk, 8 oz. Light Cran-grape juice, 1 multivitamin.
S-2 c. coffee, 2 tbsp. sugar-free creamer, Kashi TLC breakfast bar.
L-Turkey and Cheese sandwich, 14 baby carrots, AE YoLite yogurt, Jello sugar-free pudding, Coke Zero.
S-1 med. apple, Kashi TLC granola bar.
D-Chicken, pasta, broccoli.
I'll check back later. Have a FABULOUS morning!0 -
Good Morning all,
I did a steps/abs class this morning. Now I have laundry to do and pack for camping tomorrow. Then later I will take one of the boys to guitar lessons and then the other one wants to see High School Musical 3. I hope everyone is having a great day.

Hi All,
I never have enough time to check in! Busy, busy, busy. I jogged on the treadmill last night for an hour while I watched Survivor. But I'm not sure about tonight.....I have a bunch of errands to get done.
We have a lunch meeting at work today. We're going to a diner and I am not sure what I am going to order yet. The menu is mostly sandwiches with chips or french fries. The meetings usually lag and I pick at my french fries until suddenly they are gone and I am wondering how on earth I could have possibly ate them all!! The meeting is to tell us all what we already know.....my boss is leaving the company - very sad to see her go - but I have to admit that it's a good opportunity for me since I'm being promoted.
So glad it's FRIDAY!!!! I'll try and check in this weekend.

Good Morning,
I'm feeling a little run down today; I'm tierd and have no energy or motivation, I just want to go back to bed. I think my body needs to rejuvenate so I can regain my energy & motivation. I don't think I will focus too hard on my exercise today. I may even go over in cals today, but I won't do anything to bad. I am worried that I am starting this challenge off on a bad note and may never be able to "catch up" to my goal of losing10 pounds for this challenge. Honestly, If I can lose 5 pounds and maintain that through the holidays that will be pretty good for me. I may have to renegotiate that next week. Hopefully I will feel better and be full of the energy I had when I started this journey back in August.
Have a good day everyone.0 -

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Hugs to you Deb - it's hard when you feel run down and unmotivated. You can do it though!
A very beloved woman in my life suffered a massive stroke last night and the prognosis is not good. My heart is broken this morning but I can't help but take a moment to remember how precious this life we're living really is. It doesn't last forever and health is the greatest gift you can give to yourself so that your time can be filled with making the memories with friends and family that really matter in life. That's why we're on this journey, right?
Enjoy this day, everyone!0 -
Pedal, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Strokes are terrible things, and many times can go undetected until too much damage is done.
Deb, I recommend a YOU day. Pamper yourself, snooze when you want to. Make yourself feel good. You'll be much more in the mood to get back on track.
Cathy, I don't really know what to tell you. My mom always used pesticides
Connie, I'm sure I'll be dropping my son off to see High School 3 one of these days. He's 15 and loves it (but is also involved in the theater, so that explains it), and gets ripped on unmercifully by his friends for it.
B: Yoplait LT raspberry yogurt and a banana. Was hungry an hour & half later, so added a South Beach maple nut cereal bar on the way to the gym.
L: Black beans, tomatoes, onions, red & yellow peppers and spinach, all mixed together and cooked with cayenne.
S: Not really sure, kind of thinking protein shake or a sandwich
Have no clue! After picking Brandon up from swim practice, we're hitting the road to go to tomorrow's swim meet.
Went to the gym and did 35 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the weight machines. My new HRM said I burned 1474 calories. Seems high to me... No way I can add all that into today's meals. Kind of makes me realize how I lost those 3 pounds last week. I haven't been as good about going this week, and the scale hasn't budged. In case I'm not on the rest of the weekend, hope you gals all have good ones!

My 8 yr old is the one that loves HSM but my 10 yr old doesnt and Im going to have to drag him along with us HEHEHE:devil:0

Rhiannon...I'm SO sorry.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: **HUGS**0

Hi Ladies!
Pedal I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. We will all be thinking about you today!
Deb, I am right there with you, we need a pampering day!!
Well, food didn't go as planned yesterday. After our flag football game last night a couple of the girls wanted to go to TGIFridays and reluctantly I said yes. Fully intending to stick to smart choices.
and what do you know, I end up getting a bacon cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. AHHHH!!! I only ate half of the burger though and just a few of the fries, but I cannot tell you how guilty I felt the whole time!! I promised myself I would make up for it today and take this mini-challenge to heart!! I have a conference this afternoon ending with a dinner this evening so there isn't much room for snacking which is good. Here's how things shape up so far today:
B: Banana (I was running out the door!)
L: Fiber One oats and chocolate bar, honeycrisp apple (feel a little blah today so not too hungry)
probably dry chicken and crappy rice pilaf at the convention center. haha, who knows!
hoping to do shred tonight but not sure if that will happen. Will let you know!!
Good luck on the mini-challenge everyone!0 -
Deb, Rhiannon.... :flowerforyou: My thoughts are with you two today!!
OMG, I am soooo glad my kiddo (3 yrs old) is into the same shows my hubby and I like.....Spongebob, Yo Gabba Gabba, Veggie Tales.
So I am missing you ladies!! *MuAh* I feel like I'm out of touch and I want to get back in touch...
So here is my dilema....my hubby thinks I'm nuts. I got on the scale this morning and it said 186.0. So that would be a 2 pound loss since Tuesday. I am having trouble reconciling this in my mind becasue I haven't been working out, I have been eating correct, but 2 pounds in 4 days sounds like a lot. My hubby just wants me to take the number and run with it....I can't help but think the scale is broken. He got on and he lost 1.8 pounds since Tuesday. Which makes perfect sense to me since he is a big guy and has a bunch to lose. So if you go by his numbers the scale is just fine.
Why is it that I can't just accept the number? Why is it that I have to question any success?
I have to think on this one....0 -
pedal...i am so sorry to hear about your friend. i will say a prayer for her.:flowerforyou:
katy.. hope you feel better...
everyone is doing so very good. had a few struggle days here. i was in the giving up mood. i just wanted to eat. i wanted that big fat double cheeseburger from bessingers. i wanted those onion rings. i wanted that whole bag of doritos. i wanted it all. yesturday was such a day. i missed my lunch time, this sends me into overdrive watching my numbers and all. needing to eat. thought on way home "i'll just stop at wendys and eat, i am getting shaking i really need to eat." no i finished the drive home and made a chicken wrap. i didn't leave my chair after DH left for work last night. really wanted to. i stayed until time to take dog out and than bed. the only thing i have done this week is i have been on the scale. at least it's not food.
off to watch my soap and eat my snack. it's rainy and cold, so chili and grilled cheese for dinner.
cathy0 -
Cathy, I'd help out if I knew anything about plants, but I'm clueless!
Kristin, good luck with your run!!!
Connie, have fun camping. It's so cold out, I don't know how you do it!! I HATE being cold, lol.
Tammi, congrats on the promotion!!! Maybe you can squeeze in an extra workout to cover those fries? Yummmm, friezzzzzz *wipes away drool*
Deb, listen to your body. If you are tired, take it slowly. Readjust those goals later, but get some rest now. Our bodies are wonderful at telling us what they need, we just have to slow down to listen. But after you get that rest, get it and get at it! Exercise is great for creating energy! You can do it!!
Robin, omgosh just read your profile. I wanna see pics of the cakes!!! Oh DOH, just clicked on your profile pictures and there they are.... I swear, by week end, I am BRAIN - DEAD. Your cakes are super cool. I adore "The Giving Tree", although it always makes me melancholy. You are so talented!
AmyLou, eating half the burger and the fries wasn't as bad as the entire thing! And after all, you DID just finish playing flag football, right? It's not like you sat around watching tv all night and ate an entire burger. I wouldn't worry about it, I think once a week, half a burger after the game won't hurt you . But I am also one to allow myself to eat whatever I want, and work it into my calories one way or another!
Cass, the scales don't lie, silly. You lost the weight! How did you do it? Eh, who knows. The calorie deficit alone will bring your weight down. Water retention plays a part... if you recently took a poo... (sorry, gross, haha). Don't worry about it. The numbers don't lie, and you lost 2lbs. Way to go !!
And Cathy again, a grilled cheese and chilli sounds so perfect right now! It's rainy and cold here too!0 -
Thanks Lauryn...my hubby says I just need to listen to the scale too....
So here it is 2:45pm and I have had a whopping 570 calories today. I am not really that hungry and I don't have any food at work any how. I'm going to my parents for spagetti tonight, so that will add some calories...but as of right now....blah.0 -

Hey ladies. Hope everyone had a wonderful day today. It was alright over here. It's been pooring all day and everything is flooded. Even my fish pond is overflowing. Hopefully I don't lose any fish.
Pedel, sorry for your friend. My prayers are with you.
Hey Mommy. If you want to get away from dad, you can come over here. Maybe we can do something tomorrow.:flowerforyou:
Todays food wasn't that great, and I wasn't sure for dinner. I put it in what I think, but I'm not sure. I had chinese and didn't even finish what I put on plate. That's weird.:noway:
B- Instant grits
S- Light yogurt
L- Wendy's, grilled chicken sandwish and sm FF
D- Chinese( bad oh bad, but tasted good, but full)
Hope everyone has a wonderful night. :drinker: :drinker:0
