Sounds good! I'm Keelah 31, mom of two boys (3 and 4), lovely supportive boyfriend. I am ready to finally start a new year where weight loss isnt a goal. I may still need to lose, but it certainly wont be that wishing upon a star like goal. It will be a timely effort, like it has been. I look forward to joining this challenge! talk to y ou all soon! peace.

    My starting weight is 212
    My current weight is 210
my goal weight is 150 (whether or not that's by Christmas I'm not sure)

    I'm in!!

My name is Brandy and I am a single mom to a wonderful 5 year old little man. I want him to grow up with a healthy mom, not a mom who struggles with poor self confidence and weight. I don't know my measurements right now because my tape is packed in a box somewhere - that's my goal today, is to unpack and organize my house. BUT, when I find it, I will post!

    CW (7.20.11): 273
    Goal for Christmas - 250

23 pounds doesn't seem like a lot for 22 weeks, but I have done the crash diets, starvation, losing a lot in a short period of time, and it never sticks. I'm doing it the healthy way this time. I would LOVE to see the 240's by then, but 250 would rock just as much!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

    Hi there,

Count me in, please! I'm very new to MFP, just signed up today in fact, and thought what better way to meet people and help with friendly support than to join a challenge.

I'm 29, currently living in London but from Ireland and just finished a course in education, I'm finally a teacher and start my new job in September and I'm really excited about it! I've packed on the pounds the last year as my course was intense and didn't leave much time for exercise or for food preparation so I always resorted to convenience foods, pizzas, take-aways and the like.

I would like to lose 25 pounds over this challenge. I'm currently 188 at 5'7. I don't have a measuring tape to hand but will get one this week and update.

    CW / SW: 188
    Goal for Christmas: 163

Looking forward to this challenge and meeting you all!

Hi, I posted already earlier to accept the challenge but forgot to introduce and tell a little bit about myself. My name is Verna, I'm 42 years old and lives in Denton, TX. I'm married with two beautiful kids (3 year old daughter and 10 month old son). Looking at my family, they are my main reason why I wanted to be healthy and active. I also want to do this for myself most especially, I'm tired of feeling tired and unhappy about myself. I joined this site back in May 2011...though I've lost a little bit of weight, I haven't really find time to use this site on a daily basis. Therefore, your challenge gives me the opportunity to MAKE time to log in my food and exercise journal everyday! I am ready for this challenge....very excited to learn and share this journey from each other.

I'm in!! My name is Lindsey and I have been married for 6 years to my wonderful husband! I am a high school behavior specialist and I LOVE my job! I have 2 pugs that are my world and I am so in love with them. I have been overweight most of my life but never enough that it really bothered me, being 5'11'' I can hide a lot more weight. Anyway, my husband and I want to start a family and before that can happen I have about 70 more pounds to lose. MFP has been so motivational for me, and all the motivational words I get everyday have helped me stay on track! I am so ready for this!!

I'm Kim. I am married with three kids and work full time as a Nurse Practitioner. I have been on my weight loss journey for over two years and have lost 35 pounds but gained seven back over my vacation this month. My goal is to lose 19 pounds by Christmas. I have been using MFP for almost one year and have lost 18 pounds while using it. I think a challenge is just what I need to get to my goal.
    weight 159
    waist 76 cm
    abdomen 97 cm
    hips 104 cm
    thigh 68 cm
I measure in centimeters partly because I am Canadian, partly because I am in the medical profession and partly because the numbers change faster, lol.

Count me in, this is a great idea! :)

I finally got serious about weight loss in January 2011, when I joined Weight Watchers. Someone told me about this site a couple mos ago and I decided to join to get extra motivation and track my sodium intake as well as calories. I got tired of my weight keeping me from doing things because I kept thinking, "I don't wanna be the biggest one in the room." Plus, I work in healthcare and I need to walk the walk, literally and figuratively! :) Also, everytime I've seen someone with a camera I run, because I've hated seeing pictures of myself. So i want to be comfortable having my picture taken!

    Here are my measurements today:

    Waist: 42"
    Hips: 41"
    Thigh: 25"
    Arm: 12.75"
    Size: 12
    Wt yesterday: 199.8

It's kind of hard to decide on a weight loss goal for this challenge, but since there are 22 weeks remaining, I'm going to be a bit conservative and go with 0.75lb per week, or 16.5 pounds. I'd also like to fit into a size 8 by then :)

    We can do this!!!! :)
  • I would also like to join in on this challenge.
I am Veronica, a 36 yr. old wife and mom of six children ages 13, 10,8,6,4, and 17 months old. I have been on a journey to health officially since giving birth to my son last February. I have lost about 68 pounds since having the baby and would love to lose about 50 more pounds. I love to exercise but I go back and forth with being disciplined in my eating. I think being pregnant so many times and nursing in between gave me an excuse to put my health on the back burner. I am ready to keep up with this lifestyle change for the rest of my life. My children are young and they deserve a mom that can be active and involved in their lives. I have promised to walk across play bridge at the park with them when I reach my goal. They are looking up to me and they support me so much. My husband and I will be celebrating 15 years of marriage in December and I would love to be back to my newlywed weight:love: .

    Waist:40
    Hips: 45
    Arms: 14
    Thighs: 24.5
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Ok, if there's still room for me, I would love to join. I have never been in a challenge like this, but I think it just might motivate me enough to reach my goal.

    So, here's my story:

I'm 36 years old and I have PCOS which means that my body does not ovulate, therefore it is difficult to get pregnant. The specialist at the fertility clinic said that I had to be under 200 before they even tried any procedure on me. I started off at 238 and got down to 202 and then plateaued. I wasn't losing anymore and I was getting frustrated, so I stopped trying. I have been off MFP for a few weeks, but somehow got back on following a difficult family issue. I'm also an emotional eater... Recently, I've been eating away my pain and all my other emotions after everything that happened personally. I've come to the realization that I can't do this anymore and I have to do something drastic to change. So, please tell me that there is still room for me. It's time for me to make a fresh start. So, here's my weight and measurement today, if I still can join:

    SW: 208

    Bust: 50'
    Waist: 47.5'
    Hips: 49'
    Arm: 13.5'
    Thigh: 23.5'

Great idea! Add me to the group, please!

I'm Jen, married and have two little boys who are 4 and 5. I went from 247 to 217 last year by counting calories, doing Wii Fit and cycling. I'm back up to 225 and need to do something before more weight creeps back on.
I don't have a measuring tape, I'm 5'9" and a size 18. I am a scientist, which means I can sit most of the workday.
I would like to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. I'm a stress eater, and hope to change my habits.

Good luck everyone! Let's go!
