Guntherma - I'm glad everyone in your house is doing well. I *think* we're all on the mend over here. You never know what bugs are lurking, though. I know the feeling about being too tired for church, too. My saving grace is that my mom usually goes with me so I have some back up. Once dh is done with school, it'll be even easier...I hope. LOL Have a good week with the little ones you watch!

Marla - I hope that the topics stayed at bay this weekend. How much longer is your mom going to be there?

How's everyone else doing this morning? Did we all have good weekends?

I have a busy week of b.day party planning...and making cake & pies...and icing...That's not what I need in the house right now. :grumble:

Challenges anyone? I'm really not good at thinking these things up.

Have happy & healthy day, ladies!

I'm doing good. My weekend was pretty good too. I made it through level 3 of Shred without wanting to quit towards the end. I think I'll do level 3 for this week and then start over again with 8lbs weights. I like the definition I'm starting to see in my belly.
And I have DH's birthday coming up this week. I'll have to make him a cake too. I hope I won't have too much off it.

    'mornin everyone--

Yes, topics have stayed benign-- probably because I'm typing so much I don't have time to talk much with her. The other day I was waiting for her to finish a sentence and was planning on making some remark which she wouldn't have liked-- about my brother, et cetera-- and just as I was opening my mouth, my husband walked in the room speaking, the topic changed "like that" and the moment was gone. So, obviously the Lord didn't want me going there. So? Oooookay, Lord. You da man. Whatever.

She's here till Wednesday-- heading to work now--

have a great day-- enjoy your birthday party. (personally, I'd like to find the one who started this tradition and hang them-- was it Eve? Did she start the nonsense about the cake and presents and hosting all of Cain and Abel's little brat friends and their yappy moms every year-- )

Call me cranky-- I hate throwing birthday parties. :grumble:

Have fun everyone-- God bless you today.

    Howdy,
Happy Birthday Dana! Lots of birthdays right now. We're having Alex's on Saturday. I have to make a GFCF cake. I hope it's good! I haven't made a cake in a long time and I am not good at put icing on it! lol
The weekend did finally get better, except that I pigged out. We're coming to some interesting conclusions about my eating though. Now if I can just figure it all out. I had more energy last week from eating a whole lot better. I ate out twice this weekend:sick: (used to love that), and I felt grouchy and more tired those two days than I had felt all week. So the question is: is it wheat? I am going to try to stay off wheat again this week and see what happens.
A challenge? Honestly the only one that came to my mind this morning was the challenge to not complain. I think that one is for myself because I have been complaining so much. But that's not about weight loss. I don't know.
I gotta get busy. Monday is always a big house cleaning day for me. I am SO happy that this is the therapists' last full week to come out and work with Alex. He's starts hippotherapy (horse therapy) on Friday! We're excited about that!
    Have a happy Monday!

I think that's a great one-- along the lines of the "what have you done to be proud of" in the other thread is maybe a challenge each day to ourselves this week to post something here that we have to be thankful for. No matter how bad each of us thinks we got it at times, there are always people in worse situations-- and there are untold blessings in our lives we no doubt take for granted.

    So, that's a great challenge, MM .

it's a Pollyanna challenge-- what can you be glad about today?

Hi girls! Mack just went down for a little morning nap and I'm drinking a HUGE cup of coffee trying to wake up... baby didn't sleep much last night! My husband left this morning for a business trip all week long. I'm super nervous about being all alone with the baby for the entire week! One of my girlfriends was going to stay with me for 2 of the nights, but she can't now... so I'm on my own. He gets home Friday night and then plays in a golf tournament on Saturday. UGH! I think I'm earning some major brownie points here. The good news is I have the gym, and they give me 2 hours a day with the daycare, so I'm planning on using it.

I had a pretty good weekend. We went to a dinner party on Saturday. Mack was kind of fussy and there were about 5 or 6 moms there trying to give me advice. I wanted to run and hide in the corner. I know they were all just trying to help, but it was kind of overwhelming!

Ahhh, yes-- the unsolicited advice from well-intentioned "experienced" moms-- been there. They all mean well, and are probably right, but it is definitely overwhelming as a new mommy.

Mack is a dollbaby-- and I'd sell my liver to be in your shoes this week-- home with one kid who'll sleep most of the time. ?? SOLD!!

    Have a great week--

Kate - Good luck staying away from the cake. That is one of my downfalls, also. I love my cakes & icing. MMmmmm.... Are you having a party for your husband or just a family dinner type thing?

MM - we're doing Micah's b.day party on Sat., too at this place called Monkey Jump. Huge place filled with blow up jumpy things. Should be fun. :noway: LOL Our house is too small to have everyone here that demands to be here so we have to look outside the box. I hope Alex's party goes well. I'm sure you'll do fantastic on the cake! Good idea for the challenge! I can't wait to hear abou the hippotherapy! Sounds awesome!

Dana - Happy Birthday (again)! Don't say screw it! You can do it! You've come so far, your body may just be taking a little break. Give it a little bit of time & you'll be back on track.

Marla - Glad it is going okay. Your dh has some good timing. My mom & I have a similar problem with my grandma. She still babies her 50 year old son & it is just not a good situation...my mom finally started speaking up about it when g.ma says stuff, but it doesn't matter. She'll never change.

Katie - yuck. Being alone sucks. I hope the week goes okay for you & Mack. Maybe you can schedule some playdates (either for yourself or for Mack.). I often schedule playdates for the kids simply for myself to get out of the house & spend some time with my friends. I don't handle the outside advice very well either. Sure, they mean well but they don't know YOUR baby, kwim? I had to learn to just shut my mouth & nod sometimes b/c I can say stuff that sounds much nastier than I mean to. The worst for me though was when we'd be at a family thing like Christmas or a BBQ & the baby would start to cry while someone else was holding them & they REFUSED to give the baby back b/c they didn't believe me when I said that they had to nurse or just needed mommy. My MIL is famous for the line, "oh, (Z,M,T) can't be hungry YET!" UH, yeah they can! Whatever. Just try to take it with a grain of salt.

Let's see...what can I be glad about today? Well, this is something I reflect on everyday when I do my prayers. My prayer list really puts things in perspective. I have my health, I have a body capable of exercise, I have healthy children (as stubborn & demanding as they may be), I have a loving husband with a stable job, we can pay our bills & we don't have anything (too) medically wrong with any of us. Today, I am especially happy about the fact that I have a running washing machine & dryer. Laundry for 5 people is insane...I don't know how you do it, Marla!!! I was thinking about that today. 5 people vs 11 people...that's a lot of laundry!

and there's my novel for this morning. Man, I have a lot to say! LOL

Katie - I'm right there with you. My DH works away from home most of the time and it's just me and the kids during the week.

And 3bb it'll be tough to stay away from the cake. I really hope I can do it. And it'll be just us and the kids. And then we'll go out on the weekend with friends.

I am thankful there's not a squirrel in my walls.
I'm thankful that Alex is playing with his toys more, even if he is throwing them across the room. :noway: He didn't start doing that until a couple of weeks ago. At least he's being a normal kid.

MM - I'm so glad that Alex is doing better with all of your adjustments. 3yo boys are programmed to throw, I'm afraid. Zeke's been getting in big trouble for throwing lately, too. Irritating. So the squirrel was in your wall, huh? How odd is that?!

Hi mamas! My family is on the mend as well-it is sooooo gloomy here-cloudy and rainy, i like marla's idea to post what we are thankful for-maybe that would spread a little sunshine to all! Today I am thankful for my families health-we are all very healthy and I am so thankful for that, and many blessings to those who are ill or sick...

This week should be a good one. I am trying to post my food better this week and stay on track. I am also excited for Christmas! I am one of those crazy people who love Christmas, and start decorating early and play Christmas music right after halloween! I was bored on Sunday and asked the DH if it would be too early to put up the tree-he just looked at me like I was a nut case and said that it was too early :( Ok, maybe next weekend? I like to have the house decorated before thanksgiving because we are usually out of town (this year we will be in dallas!) I love coming home from vacation to a clean and decorated house!!! With the holiday season approaching that means foood, food, and more food. Baking, cooking, gifts of home baked goodies-it is a challenging time for us all to keep on track and stay healthy. My philosophy-everything in small quantities. :flowerforyou:
    Enjoy your week everyone!

We made it to Cincinnati (I got the spelling down now 3bb! ) We left around 9:30am. (We were going to leave around 8am but we found out the place we were dropping off the dogs doesn't open until 9am.)

My husband estimated 5 hours for the trip so we figured we'd need to stop after 3 hours or so to give Harley a bottle. She slept the whole time! So we just held our bladders and made it here in 4 1/2 hours.

We got settled into the hotel, gave Harley a bottle, and grabbed some lunch. Then my husband left to go to a site (he fixes robotics) and Harley & I are chilling in our hotel room. She had another bottle and is back asleep! I just hope she sleeps tonight since we brought the pack-n-play for her to use.

There is a workout room just down the hall from our room. I'm hoping tomorrow, I can get Harley to take a nap in her car seat and I'll set it next to the machines and be able to get in a workout.

I am thankful that Harley slept the whole ride, that I am lucky enough to get to be a SAHM, and that Harley and I now get to go on trips with my husband. (I've always loved going places and getting to stay in hotels ever since I was a kid! )

Ooo, and I'm thankful that the hotel has internet so I don't have to go a week without MFP!

    Ahhhhhhhhhhh-- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*pant pant* Okay, ENOUGH-- I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE--

I turned down the brownies, the chocolate chip cookies, the cheese cake another one baked yesterday-- I declined the Hershey's kisses and M&Ms and all the Halloween candy and the chocolate covered donuts my mother bought for the kids today-- one by one, much to children's humor, I'm turning it all down all the while declaring my hatred for them all.

But, caramel and pretzel Klondike Bars???!!! Who knew they even made such yumminess $%#@! UNCLE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!

So, I had one bite of my two year old's ooey-gooey, confection-- unreal.

And I'm thankful I stopped there--

Ooohhh...those things are evil. I had a mild addiction while pregnant with Tabitha. Delicious! I'm proud of you for stopping at one bite, though! If the no-sweet challege didn't stop you, I suggest looking at the calories. Surprising what one little square of yummy will add up to!

Loree - I'm glad you made it to Cincinnati okay & that you can offically call yourself a speller of the word. LOL I'm so glad that Harley did great, too! My children were car seat haters, so I understand the anxiety that goes along with it. Good luck getting in that workout!

JMama - maybe you can put up the tree next week. I'm one to decorate the day after Thanksgiving so I understand...I'd do it earlier but I don't want to overlap my little boy's b.day & Thanksigiving & Chritsmas. Gotta cut myself off somewhere! :)

I'll be back to check in later. Zeke's been up since 4:15 so I'm in a pretty crappy mood.

It was your b.day. you're allowed. I'm glad you had a good night out with the bf!

What should I be proud of today? hmmmm...I think I need to come back today. Still in a bad mood & I've been up for 4.5 hours with the monster. I got some stuff done, but nothing that didn't need to be done anyways!

I should go do more. The baby's still sleeping so I need to sneak in as much as possible!

    Hello, ladies.
Dana I'm glad you had a good time on your birthday! And Marla those Klondike bars sounds heavenly right now!
It's official. I'm sick. I don't know what it is because my nose isn't giving me much problems. I had a sore throat for about a week and now it's turning into a cough and voice change. I guess it could be worse as a full blown cold but at least then I could count the days for it to be over. I am kind of crabby. I didn't get much sleep last night because we had T-storms and hail off and on last night. I am thankful for the rain but I sure needed the sleep! Then Alex woke up at 6:30 this morning (which I know is not as early as 4 but still!) So 3BB I'll join you in the cranky boat. :grumble:
I desperately need to work out. I just don't feel like it. I'm even slacking in the push ups dept and I haven't had a problem doing those since I started four months ago. So I am going to try to actually get a work out in today. We'll see what happens.
    Have a good Tuesday!

I got my lazy butt going and took advantage of the hotel gym just down the hall from our room.

I wanted to try the stairstepper because I don't have one at home but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. The treadmill was plugged in and the display was lit so I just did that.

I decided to walk on the treadmill until Harley started fussing which ended up being half an hour.

Once my husband gets "home" and can show me how to use the stairstepper, I want to go back over and try that for a bit. But I don't know if he'll be back anytime soon. (Last night he didn't get in until 8pm.)

    Hi ladies.

I got to sleep in today thanks to my very sweet DH. And I'm not sore today which really surprised me. I think I'll stick to level 2 today and give my body a little break. I hope everyone is having a good day.

Kate, I'm glad someone got to sleep in! You too Marla!
And Loree, way to go on taking advantage of the gym at the hotel. I did that when I went to a retreat and I felt better mentally for doing it.
Alex and I just went for a walk, for about 90 minutes. It was slow, but we hopped over cracks in the sidewalk and he collected a bunch of leaves (made me carry them of course), and then we went to the pet store and looked at the animals. So it was eventful. At least I got some exercise. I am going to try to do as many push ups as I can after he goes down for a nap so I won't get distracted. Then I am probably going to paint some more. I am burning a few cals today.
Alex apparently hates it when I am on the computer just like my dh. :grumble: Alex says he has to go potty about every 5-10 minutes and says it over and over again until I take him. It's getting annoying. I think I am going to runaway, so he will let daddy start helping with these things again.
