Quick introduction-my name is Lyn or most often Mom, hubby is Galen, kids Drevan (6) and Adara (4 months). I've been a SAHM since May. I started my lifestyle change the end of August and now I'm almost 20 lbs lighter  I've really slacked the last 3 or 4 weeks and now have to get super serious if I want to hit my mini goal of another 10 lbs by Christmas.

It might take me a while to learn everyone's (screen) names but Thank you for allowing me to join you. I occassionally need somewhere to scream at my kids and hubby when I can't really scream at them. But mostly I need ADULT conversation. My 6 year old is intelligent and we have great conversations but it's just not the same

Welcome! I look forward to coming here everyday (okay several times a day :blushing: ) to talk to other mommies. It's nice to have people to complain to who know what you're talking about.

Loree - It took me a lot of practice to get measurments just right. I do it every Tuesday & it took me a good month to be comfortable with what I was doing. You'll get there. Loose jeans are a good sign, though! Maybe Ohio screwed with your body. I know I feel that way some days.

Marla - I take it you don't sew, either? That's the only thing I use in my "sewing" kit is the fabric tape measurer. LOL I use a needle every now & then to get splinters out, too. Very useful kit.

Sometimes I'll even shut my eyes and then open them to see the number so I don't look down and subconciously measure out a certain amount of inches.

Marla, just b/c we had a moment of juvenile fun last night doesn't ALWAYS mean we talk that way.

Hi, Lyn! Thanks for the introduction! I think you'll find that this is a good group to let off a little steam every now & then. We're good for that. What did you do before you were a SAHM?

Off to do my first exhaustion test for the 100 pushup challenge. WOO! I want to do well, but after looking at week 3...I'm not sure I want to do THAT well. LOL

    Talk to you later!

Mentioning pushups made me think of "The Office" this week when Ryan dropped and started doing pushups in the cubicle in front of Kelly.

    Welcome Lyn!
Way to go 3BB on the push ups! I have slacked off since I still don't feel good. It's been two weeks! I am going to get back to push ups tomorrow no matter how I feel. I don't want to lose momentum and I have less than two weeks to make my goal! :noway: If I don't make it I will just keep trying!
Alex has been in a much better mood so that has helped me a lot! Now I just need to get better! I hope you all have a good night! See you in the new thread!

Ok....sweets update Beans...how you doing? Still hanging in?

I'm still doing it...can't believe how faithful I've been, but so thrilled. I DO have willpower after all....who knew??

I have motivation for Thanksgiving...we're going to brother in law's for the day, so will exercise like a nut until then.

And since my "no sweets till thanksgiving" ends on that day, I have already purchased a lovely pecan pie for Thanksgiving dessert. If I'm going to celebrate the successful end of my challenge, I shall do it style, my good woman. I absolutely adore pecan pie. 470 calories a slice, so I'll make sure I run that morning...or something. But, I intend to enjoy. num num num!!!

Well I blew the sweets thing this weekend by a lot, but I knew I was going to have cake at my son's party. I just didn't know I would have more later! I will behave until Thanksgiving and I think I may even take the challenge again until Christmas! I felt so much better when I didn't have sweets!
