Welcome to the group! Tell us more about yourself!
MM - how'd therapy go?0 -
Well, Alex didn't actually get to ride a horse today. But he did get to see them and he was very excited about it! The trainer has to confirm with the physical therapist about our appointments but it should be every Wednesday at 10 am and he starts next week! I think it's going to help him a lot!
We said good bye to the therapists tonight. Well, I have one more visit from one on Monday, then the Occupational therapist wants to continue coming out for awhile. Which is okay. She's fun and Alex likes her. So she'll be out once a week. I'm just glad that the majority of it is over (four therapists a week!).
I need to get dinner. I hope you all had a good afternoon!
3BB let me know how the party goes! I think I got everything I need now! It was so windy the balloons were bopping me in the head on the way out to the car. I must have been a sight. LOL
You all have a good weekend. I'll check in tomorrow if I have time.

Happy Birthday, belated, Dana! Don't give up though. I too have not lost all that much yet...maybe a couple of pounds. But I feel better with all the walking and rebounding I have been doing. I feel like things are shifting some what. I am only 5 ft tall and need to lose about 24 lbs. Being so short I don't carry weight well at all, lol. But I really feel good these days. Here's to your health, Dana!!0

We're home! We left Cincinnati this morning around 11am so I didn't get a chance to work out at the hotel gym but it was kinda nice to have a break. We stopped around 2pm for lunch and got home around 5pm.
Harley slept the whole time (except when we took her out of her seat while we were eating). My husband just put her to bed about half an hour ago and she went down easily.
On the ride home, my husband pulled out zingers (kinda like ho hos). Since he quit smoking when Harley was born, he eats a lot of sugar and caffeine to stay awake while driving. He offered me one and I said no. He jokingly said, "You're too healthy!" I said, "I'm trying!"
It was high 60's today and he said it's supposed to get cold and snowy this weekend. On the way home, he said maybe we could go for a walk tonight. I looked at him in shock. :noway: (<--My eyes opened that big.) He never suggests that! Unfortunately, by the time we got home, got the car unloaded, and got the dogs picked up, it was too dark to walk. But just him suggesting it made me feel good. Maybe heis starting to get it!0 -

Well, even if he doesn't get it-- he's a total cutie-patootie-- so put up with it!!
Zingers in the car-- now that's rough-- good for you!!0 -
HI EVERYONE, I have been reading your blogs off and on, they are encourgaging and make me laugh....thank you.....
I am a stay-at-home mommy of 3......in Texas.....
I too just read thru your thread, you ladies are hilarious and supportive of each other. Is this "group" open to new members?
I'm a SAHM of 2 in Idaho.0 -
We're an open group! Welcome! Congrats on the weight loss so far! :flowerforyou:
Watch out girls, "some" of the pics in my photobucket account are working. BWAHAHA! It might get colorful in here. :glasses:
Edit - But obviously not THAT one! WTJunk?
Okay, so I decided that my photobucket account is stupid. I can only use the pics that are in the "main" folder. If I put them in any of the subfolders, even if that is where I origianally upload them to, they don't work right. Whatever. I still posted a pic. *happy dance*0 -
Loree - I'm glad you made it home safely! I'm impressed with your hubby, too! Small steps are still steps! Congrats on him quitting smoking, too. That's always so difficult. I'm really impressed with how well Harley did this whole trip, too! You've got a super baby!
MM - good luck with your party! Can't wait to hear how it goes!
Like where Loree is, it was nice hear earlier yesterday, but there's supposed to be snow today at some point here in Ohio. Yippy skippy. I'm not ready for the crappy weather yet! Getting everyone bundled up to go anywhere is just a pain to begin with & when you add in the coats that no one likes (I think my children are nudists) and hats that everyone takes off before we can get out of the house, I might as well not bother. I'm officially calling a hibernation.
Happy Saturday, mommies!0 -
Okay, Loree. I just looked through your pics & holy junk I want to pinch Harley's cheeks. Too precious...besides being dressed like a football, which you know I just love! Also, did you get married in Hawaii?! If so, I'm going to be insanely jealous. We went there on our honeymoon & after the first day said, "why didn't we just get married HERE?!" So beautiful....and our wedding was not...to put it nicely. Well besides the actual marriage part. Too much family drama. Anyways, love the pics you have up!0

Welcome! This a great place to come and vent when the husbands, kids, and pets are driving us crazy!0 -

No, we got married at the fire dept. banquet hall 6 doors down from our house. (It was so convenient!) The pic from Hawaii was before we got married. Back then my husband traveled all over the US for work. He had to go to Hawaii for 3 weeks that the company paid for so we just bought me a plane ticket and I went with him for a week. We loved it so we went back for our honeymoon. I LOVE Hawaii. I just don't like that it is so far from home. I said we need to move Hawaii over near us but keep the weather on it the same! :laugh:0 -
Hey Everybody..How is everyone this Saturday morning?? I'm pleased to say my scale is still moving backwards.. I am now down to 193 pounds.. I've lost 3 pounds this week is that bad..I hope everyone is having much success..I just to start toning up my body cuz its really flabby lol..Well hope you all have a good day..

Happy Saturday, mommies!
Hubby promised he would quit when Harley was born so I didn't bug him about it. The last day he smoked was the day my water broke. Harley was born the next morning and he hasn't smoked since.
I'm so glad Harley did well too. When we were driving we passed an exit and planned to stop at the next one to eat and feed Harley. Then we came to a traffic jam. We thought uh oh, should've stopped at the last exit! Luckily it only lasted about 5 minutes. She was a bit fussy yesterday evening. I joked that she missed Ohio.
I get tired just taking care of 1 kid and getting all of her stuff ready to go to the store. I can't imagine how much harder it gets with the 2nd, 3rd, or 9th (Marla!).0 -

Actually, Loree-- it gets easier after the 3rd-- once you learn to handle more kids than you have actual hands on your body, it's a cinch. If you learn to juggle, what's another ball to keep up in the air, right?0 -
Hey! The party was a success! And the cake turned out great (even for gluten free!)! Today was my sweets day (I might have another tomorrow. ), and I have to say that I have had a major sugar crash. I guess from not eating it in while. I want to take a nap now.
Anyway, here's a couple of pictures. At least I am going to try to post them. Let's see if this works!
0 -
Yay! I did it! There's checkered flags on the cake too but you can't really see them. I have to admit I kind of impressed myself! I didn't know I could do that!
How was your party 3BB?
MM0 -
What a cutie mm! And the cake looks great.0

I made cupcakes for his "beach" themed b.day. Plus, I made a cheddar pear pie & an apple crisp b/c my family's insane.
Big surprise, Zeke blew out the candle before Micah could. My mom tried to fight him off, but it didn't work.
Micah & his girlfriend Abbie. They're so cute together. :smooched:
I'm a big dork & make a shirt every year for the kids to wear on their b.days. This is the worst one I've done. That's what I get for making it while all the kids were awake. LOL
One of the favs. Curious George always gets a smile.:happy:0 -
Looks like your party was a success, MM! Love the cake! I'm glad you found a checkered flag & a trophy! Where did you get them?
Alex is too cute. Curly haired kids just kill me. Did your dh end up helping out more?0 -
I should clairfy that the party was not at my house. LOL we went to a place called Monkey Jump that is a giant open area filled with blow up jump toys. The kids had a BLAST! Micah & Abbie were only allowed on 2 b/c they're too short, but the rest of the kids had about 10 to choose from & a few of them were quite tall that they had to climb & then go tumbling down a big slide. Zeke had sooooo much fun. Micah was just happy to be bouncing with Abbie...and then of course for cake & a new truck...or 3. :grumble: Now I need to find room in my house for more toys.0

Any time she misses Ohio too much, I'll give you my address. We can playdate. I'm glad your dh quit when she was born. My dad didn't quit until I was about 11 & he still regrets that.0 -
Thanks for your kind words about my cake and my cute liitle boy! 3BB your kids are cute! Alex doesn't blow very well so one of the little girls had to blow it out for him. lol. I like the beach theme. That's cool.
Yes, DH did help out. That guy can clean (and well) when he wants too!
I think Alex just pointed at a zit on my face and asked what it was. Great. He's also been asking what his body parts are, so he's discovering and observing new things. He's been saying what's this ALL day long!!! It drives me crazy. I just have to remember that's how he learns.
I need to get dinner on the table. Leftover pizza for us. I need to get back on track tomorrow, though I may have one more piece of cake before it goes away. It's so hard for me to let perfectly good cake leave the house. I gained 3 pounds last year over his birthday and I won't do it again this year!!!

I did my weigh-in this morning. I was the same as where I was when I weighed in last week. After working out all week at the hotel gym, that was kind of disappointing. :grumble:
The good thing though is a pair of jeans that were tight when I wore them 2 weeks ago were loose yesterday! I try to measure myself around the hips and waist but I don't think I do it right. I think I pull the tape measure tighter or looser sometimes so I don't rely on that.0 -

I can't measure myself-- all I have is one of those Craftman tool metal measuring jobbers, for, like, construction sites-- LOL-- so, I never know how much I've lost. I know my jeans are so baggy around my butt and legs that my husband tells me I'm looking like his mother in my clothes.
Gee, hon, thanks-- I think? :noway:0 -
Quick introduction-my name is Lyn or most often Mom, hubby is Galen, kids Drevan (6) and Adara (4 months). I've been a SAHM since May. I started my lifestyle change the end of August and now I'm almost 20 lbs lighter  I've really slacked the last 3 or 4 weeks and now have to get super serious if I want to hit my mini goal of another 10 lbs by Christmas.
It might take me a while to learn everyone's (screen) names but Thank you for allowing me to join you. I occassionally need somewhere to scream at my kids and hubby when I can't really scream at them. But mostly I need ADULT conversation. My 6 year old is intelligent and we have great conversations but it's just not the same0 -

Hi Mom--
Welcome, Lyn-- what cool names for your kids and I love the name Galen, too-- too cool.
I don't know how much adult conversation you'll get here, either-- but you're welcome to pal around with us just the same. When all is said and done, you may find more maturity in your six year old-- LOL!
Seriously-- welcome-- nice to meet you!!!0 -
Marla, just b/c we had a moment of juvenile fun last night doesn't ALWAYS mean we talk that way.
Hi, Lyn! Thanks for the introduction! I think you'll find that this is a good group to let off a little steam every now & then. We're good for that. What did you do before you were a SAHM?
Off to do my first exhaustion test for the 100 pushup challenge. WOO! I want to do well, but after looking at week 3...I'm not sure I want to do THAT well. LOL
Talk to you later!0 -
Loree - It took me a lot of practice to get measurments just right. I do it every Tuesday & it took me a good month to be comfortable with what I was doing. You'll get there. Loose jeans are a good sign, though! Maybe Ohio screwed with your body. I know I feel that way some days.
Marla - I take it you don't sew, either? That's the only thing I use in my "sewing" kit is the fabric tape measurer. LOL I use a needle every now & then to get splinters out, too. Very useful kit. :laugh:0 -

I can sew a button-- on a good day.
Beyond that, I'm all thumbs.

I can just picture you trying to bend one of those metal tool kind of tape measures around your waist.
My hubby makes comments like that sometimes too. Last night he said something to Harley about how I'm a hot mom now. He caught himself and said, "Not that you weren't hot before...But now you're...That sounds bad. You know what I mean!" I just laughed because I knew he was trying to be nice.0
