I've decided to implement a reward system for myself for losing weight, I have a few ideas, but I'd like to see what you guys can think of! Does anyone else do a reward system? If so, has it worked?
Some of my ideas:
- curling iron
- makeup
- purse
- teeth whitening
- perfume
- massage
- clothes (the last one, of course)

Mine is a drivers' licence/passport photo update and half way.0

I'm also a big fan of the mani-pedi, or try a facial. New shoes perhaps?0
-
For keeping on track and working out regularly, I would download new music for my ipod. For weight loss, I bought new workout clothes and shoes - that was for each 25 pounds. When I lost 100, I bought myself a new grill since mine was falling apart.0

A massage
Trail ride in the mountains0 -
For me -
Mani & Pedi
Facial
Horse trek
Shoes
Clothes
New hairstyle & colour
A kindle
Shoes, Shoes & more shoes
Also for the mini goals some nice bath stuff, moistourises, body washes0 -
I have been buying a little cutesy inexpensive charm for my bracelet every 5 lbs Iost...that way I am giving myself something plus I get to be reminded of WHY every time I wear the bracelet.1

My 20 pound goal reward is brand new makeup. I am going to get the works: eyeshadow, mascara, eye liner, lipstick, etc. I have avoided makeup because I didn't want people to notice me, but once I hit that 20, that will be a HUGE success for me and I want to celebrate it with the world!!!0

Mani, pedi
massage
new clothes
NEW SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spray tan
New makeup
haircut0 -
For me it is just looking in the mirror and actually liking what I see. No material reward could ever beat that!0

A vacation (a real one)
Dinner at your favorite restaurant
a make-over
a weekend trip
Do you have hobbies? Have you been wanting anything for them that you have been putting off?
A special outfit--for me, it would be a new hockey sweater
Tickets to a concert/activity you really want to go to.0 -
I bought myself a massage/facial deal from groupon for when I lose 25 lbs. I'm 1lb away and made my appts.
incentives:
facial
pedi
massage
new book
make up
perfume
bath and body stuff
new bras!!!!
new undies
I think it's fun to get treats for ourselves for working so hard, and important, too.0 -
I do. Here's some of the ideas I have.
- Makeup
- Nail polish
- $20 to spend at Goodwill/ Thrift Store
- Shoes
- work out clothes
- Movie night with my hubby
- Something I want for the house
- Hair product
- Cheap Jewelry
-Mani
-Pedi
When I hit big goals I plan on getting new outfits, Fancy (healthy) dinner out, ultimately a new wardrobe.0 -
Time doing nothing productive.
Facial.
Pedicure.
New hair style.
Watch trashy, meaningless TV.
Send yourself flowers.
Take a day off from work.0 -
The ones I've already got (go me!!) for reaching minigoals are a HRM and a new scale for bathroom and kitchen.
The ones I'm aiming for now are: kindle, new runners, manicure, and the two big ones - a cruise and a new wardrobe full of clothes.0 -
A professional photo shoot session (major goal).
A kitten or puppy (major goal).
A really good coffee from a fancy cafe (minor progress).
A sum of money that you get to give to your choice of charity instead of spending on bills and ordinary things (e.g. "if I don't stick to my diet this week, I'm depriving the local pet shelter of $10"!)0 -
I'd been thinking I might ask for an anniversary trip to vegas but then I realize that I'm not gonna want to buy a cute new dress to go out in or anything because I'll want to wait until i'm close enough to my goal weight to buy a dress in that size. So maybe a birthday trip.
But the satisfaction of looking LESS fat is immeasurable, not to mention all the NSVs - I look forward to planking for a minute straight (did 35 seconds yesterday) and doing a real vertical pull up without the machine helping me, and today when I was in the gym I noticed the line of my back looks pretty good from the side so if I can just lose that pudge in the middle I will feel gooooood about it.0 -

Dang you reminded me I really want an HRM..... and a new kindle (my old one isn't doing so good) but then again I barely have time to read anymore because the working out is taking a lot of that time.0 -
Clothes, mani and pedi, perfume and makeup0
-
New Hairstyle (cut & color)
Get my nose or labret repierced (maybe)
Tattoo
Mani/Pedi
New Outfit
Not in that order...just a few ideas I have been thinking about.0 -
my reward is new clothes. Also being able to walk, climb stairs etc with out dying. All the benefits of weight loss are my rewards :happy:0
-
My major goal incentives are: more tattoos, and smaller clothes. Also, I did pictures with my daughter for her 15 month photos, and I felt like such a cow--so I refuse to be in her pictures again until I don't feel like Jaba the Hut with a wig. >.<0

My goals and rewards are:
SW 147
1st goal 139 - new earrings (goal met)
2nd goal 134 or 135 - new purse
3rd Goal 129 or 130 - I don't know yet
4th goal 124 or 125 - don't know yet
5th goal 120 - don't know
Final Goal 119
There are some good ideas listed on here. Rewards I'm thinking about: new HR monitor, tiffany earrings, new dress that I have my eye on (that I think is too expensive), new birkenstocks, teeth whitening, French lessons, tennis lessons, maybe a kindle, perfume but I don't know what kind.
I need to decide if I prefer the mini goals on 5 and 10 marks or right under at 4s and 9s. I'm thinking 4 and 9s will be much more incentive. I think I can get stagnant on the 5s and 10s.
Also, I am finding, the incentives work much better for me if my reward is something kind-of frivolous, something I feel guilty buying. If its not, then I would have already bought it.0 -

I want to lose 45 lbs, and I know that small rewards will help me...I bumped them up for the more I lose, hoping to keep myself interested!!
5 lbs - New earrings (jumpstart/tester)
10 lbs - Bath and Bodyworks stuff
20 lbs - Manicure
30 lbs - Massage
35 lbs - Tanning package
40 lbs - Family photos (with pro photographer)
45 lbs - 2 new pairs of jeans and 2 new tops (GOAL!)
If I so happen to lose 50 lbs (do-able but not completely necessary), I'm planning a trip back to Jamaica :]0 -
I only have four major ones, since I feel like I really don't want much. I just spaced them out for my 10 pound loss rewards. Since I was 170 a month ago my next will be 160, which I want to grab a new water bottle. 150 brings me this cool workout shirt I saw on a website, while 140 is a pair of Nike Pros and 130 is a new pair of sneakers.0

- makeup- I've already picked a Tom Form lipstick, which I couldn't normally justify
- Clarisonic Mia @ 10% loss
- Getting my engagement ring on-probably @ 15% loss, not sure when for wedding ring as its even smaller
- Makeup lesson.0 -
I have focused my rewards on changing my lifestyle rather than results, that way i have a definate time when i'm either going to get it or not and i'm also learning healthy habits regardless that i will more easily integrate into my life without further reward. for example if you starve yourself you will lose 10lb quickly but chances are you will put it back on just as quickly. rewards have to be something you find rewarding but i would suggest something you wouldn't normally have. Eg. if you get a mani pedi every week then it's not really rewarding to "treat" yourself to one. you must also not cheat and get it anyway even if you didn't succeed as that defeats the purpose of rewarding yourself. hope that helps.0

I reward myself for meeting fitness and weight goals. My rewards aren't big or extravagant and often they are things I would buy anyway. For example, I just got a pink nail polish for completing my first big trail run. I could buy a nail polish any day, but when I see this pink on my toes It reminds me of what I've accomplished. It's amazing how much more special that little nail polish seems because I earned it.1

I always find it amusing that, on threads like this nobody ever mentions *kitten* ;-)0
