Never Argue with a Woman
One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside
cottage after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.
Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.
She motors out a short distance, anchors, puts her feet up,
and begins to read her book..
The peace and solitude are magnificent.
Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat.
He pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?'
'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that obvious?')
'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her.
'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading.'
'Yes, but I see you have all the equipment.
For all I know you could start at any moment.
I'll have to take you in and write you up.'
'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the woman.
'But I haven't even touched you,' says the Game Warden.
'That's true, but you have all the equipment..
For all I know you could start at any moment.'
'Have a nice day ma'am,' and he left.
MORAL:
Never argue with a woman who reads.
It's likely she can also think.0 -
And they just keep coming................another one for Jake!!
Ed and Linda met while on a singles cruise and Ed fell head over heels for her.
When they discovered they lived in the same city only a few miles apart Ed was ecstatic. He immediately started asking her out when they got home.
Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Linda to dance clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums. Ed became convinced that Linda was indeed his soul mate and true love. Every date seemed better than the last.
On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on the cruise ship, Ed took Linda to a fine restaurant. While having cocktails and waiting for their salad, Ed said,
"I guess you can tell I'm very much in love with you. I'd like a little serious talk before our relationship continues to the next stage. So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life changing question, it's only fair to warn you, I'm a total golf nut. I play golf, I read about golf, I watch golf on TV. In short, I eat, sleep, and breathe golf. If that's going to be a problem for us, you'd better say so now!"
Linda took a deep breath and responded, "Ed, that certainly won't be a problem. I love you as you are and I love golf too; but, since we're being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for the last five years I've been a hooker."
Ed said, "I bet it's because you're not keeping your wrists straight when you hit the ball."0 -
Well, Sandy...one would have to understand gulf to get that one. I don't but can figure it out. . Love the fishing one. LOL.
Marie...squash...yum.
Buzz, are those little people doing Zumba ??? How cute. Love them !!!!
Tomorrow I go back to work. And, should be here at about 5:30 or a little after. I slept in til 7 just about every morning while on vacation. Did my Zumba again yesterday. I had forgotten just how good it feels to work up a sweat doing what I love. Ha ha...that could be taken wrong.0 -
Well just got back from the boat this morning.
I had a great time. Of course everyone was asking
where is Dave?
Did my 40 min walk on Saturday morning.
60 mins walking at the Peach Festival and had my
peach ice cream. MMM sooo good.
During the day I read most of the day away just sitting
at the back of the boat and watching the world go by.
It was beautiful weather all weekend but thunder is
going on right now but so far no rain.
Saturday night went for a drink with friends on another
boat and then went upstairs to the club house and the
Corn Roast. We had a new band playing
and I danced all night they were so good.
It was very humid and I was literally soaked when I went
back to the boat for the night.
Waiting for dave to get back from his mom's so he can
tell me about his working weekend.
Have a great day gals!0 -
sandy sure your joke ws not about Shirley? HA HA reaing on a boat?0

MARIE. I'm glad you are getting a hint of cooler weather. Chicken and dumplings sounds very good. Yummy.
BECKY My day seemed to drag as well. However I guess It is because we didn't leave our house and yard today. That's a real rarity. But we had brunch rather than breakfast and lunch and the day was just too hot to do much. Lazy day catching up in things.
BUZZ. I hope you had a great day too. I love Sandy's jokes too.
Here's a photo I took last year on a road trip down south of us.

:flowerforyou: Good morning Jeri. Hope today goes better for you. My day, yesterday, finally ended. We usually have a large breakfast on Sunday and then no lunch. Took a piece of my kids' pizza last night. That was a NO NO.
:flowerforyou: Marie, I love chicken and dumplings and haven't made them in so long. Think as soon as the weather gets cooler I will do just that.
:flowerforyou: Good morning Buzz. Glad to know that I am not the only one not into gulf. We had to play it in gym class in high school. We were to hit the balls across the gymnasium. I was the only one to miss every one of them.
Well, I am back to work. I have 1 1/2 hours to go before I start. I have found a note here for me saying what all I need to do as soon as I start. It really feels good to be back. Back to the old same old !!:bigsmile:0 -

One of our attorney's quit and went to another job. It was weeks before
we found out. He just left and no one knew what happened until we
got the official email. New attorney starting in September, a woman.
We have all men now, so this should be interesting.
Have a great Monday and keep smiling.
Speaking of smiling, YES the smiley's are back yaaay !!0 -
Happy Monday!! Beautiful day in the neighborhood!!
I have been one busy beaver lately. This weekend my niece had a birthday party for her husband and my brother. I drove there in another storm but once there is was great, I don't see my brother much even though he only lives about a half hour away. He doesn't drive any more with his macular degeneration so he stays home a lot. His wife never learned to drive (well she did try once when she was much younger and managed to drive up their front porch   That was the end of her driving career.) My sister was also there and she is looking good. Her doctor is giving her some $1200 shot to make her white blood cells work correctly. They will do that once a month until her blood count gets to normal. My sister in law however continues to abuse her body with smoke :smokin: and lots and lots of beer. :glasses: She has been doing this most of her life and her chest ex-ray showed clear lungs but with how she needed four pints of blood I think her body is trying to tell her something. :ohwell:
Yesterday my 16 year granddaugther performed with her Pom Squad for Spirit Day at Cellular Field where the White Sox play. It was fun and the first time I saw the field since I am not much of a baseball fan. They actullay performed outside the field but since we had to buy tickets we went in and had a hot dog and watched the first inning. Fun Day.
Today my hubby isn't feeling well so I made a doctor's appointment for him. He thinks he has vertigo again so I want to try to nip it in the bud before it gets worse. Did I mention the toe he hurt, the second one not the surgery one, was infected and the doctor had to do some minor surgery to make sure the infection didn't get into the bone where he has screws from another sugery years ago? Hard to keep up right? MEN!!!!
I have been reading all the posts and keeping up with everyone who seems to be doing great. Barbie and Jake are in the process of their move and have no internet which I am sure upets both of them especially Barbie since she had so many log in days accumulated. Marie, I wish it would get cooler for you, it feels so good. Becky glad you had a great vacation. Jeri, loved your pictures of the grandkids. Shirley you boat does sound like heaven. Buzz, glad you are feeling better. Jackie still loving your accent even with words, same to you Judy. Phoebe you are such a good person. Did I miss anyone? Love you all.
Have a great Day!!

:noway: Wow Sandy...I can't believe how much that shot costs your sister. And, I had always wondered which smiley is for beer :glasses:
:flowerforyou: Shirley, if you retire will you live on your boat? I went out on my son's boat three times last week. He isn't as big as yours. Only 19 feet.
:flowerforyou: Marie, you had a parfait. Hey, I spelled that right the first time.:noway: I see a lot of young people having large weddings after living together for a long time. I think I have two of these wedding to attend this fall. One of them have three children.
Feels good to be back to work and to realize that I didn't forget anything so I don't have to be re-trained.:laugh:0 -
I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with 'Guess' on it.
So I said 'Implants?’
She hit me!
How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America?
brilliant question!!!!!!!
Now that food has replaced sex in my life,I can't even get into my own pants.
I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!
When I was young we used to go 'skinny dipping,' now I just 'chunky dunk.'
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN !!
Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?
A completely brilliant question!!!!!!!
Wouldn't you know it....
Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever.
Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments
cannot be displayed outside?
Another completely brilliant question!!!!
Bumper sticker of the year:
'If you can read this, thank a teacher; and, since it's in English, thank a soldier'
And remember: life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
Ya just might want to pass this along....

I completely messed up this picture, my granddaughter isn't even showing, just ignore it since I can't delete it!! :explode:0 -
Becky: We do plan on making more trips on our boat once we both retire.
It is not big enough to live on its only 30 feet. but comfortable enough
for a few weeks out on the water and docking.
Dave has to wait a few years yet because his pension won't let him retire
until 65. I on the other hand would like to at any time.
Thanks for asking.
Sandy: I've got a bumper sticker on my car that says: Conserve Water, Drink Daiquires
I think I spelled that right LOL.0 -
I completely messed up this picture, my granddaughter isn't even showing, just ignore it since I can't delete it!! :explode:
Now it is showing small...what the heck??0 -
Becky I was going to called it that but did not know how to spell it. Parfait Thanks. It was really good.
I found a real nice plastic containers at Walmart Plasic bowl with a steamer. I I cooked a can of Navy beans for lunch and without adding anything and they taste so good. So for Lunch I had 1/2 cup navy beans, 1/2 c cole slaw, 1 cup of muster green 1 whole wheat roll At 3 I will have a 100 calorie snack.

Who elde have we got Missinf in Action0 -
:flowerforyou: Sandy, thank you so much for the words of wisdom. Funny thing...I liked the toilet paper roll the best. I can certainly relate to that.
:flowerforyou: Marie, it is so sweet of you to be concerned about those not posting. You have a very caring spirit.
:flowerforyou: Shirley, not sure of the spelling of the drink but I love the bumper sticker. Very funny.
Speaking of alcohol. I logged in 1/2 bottle of wine. It isn't as much as it sounds. Only two glasses (small ones at that). It just sounds like a lot. My husband and I split the bottle with each of us getting two glasses. So, since I had the wine I will pass on the popcorn.
I stopped at the YMCA after work today. I had my youngest daughter added to the health center which allows her to take most classes without any additional cost. Then, I signed us up for two classes. They each meet two times a week. This has us exercising four days a week. When I am not at the Y I will be Zumbaing at home. (I don't think that is a word).0 -
I think I will just take 2 Stars
I get a star. made it thru the day. Still have 2- 100 snacks left, Becky made me hungry for popcorn That will be one of them for one and take a yogurt to bed with ne to bed in cse i get a low blood sugarHopefully I dont. I think Monday will be my WI Day.0 -
Doc saw elbow today; says the tendon is inflamed and the elbow has arthritis, so just rest and heat or ice (or frozen peas?) and it will eventually return to normal.
Just a couple of comments on everyone's posts, though I enjoyed each and every one!
JERI--- your picture of driving into Monument Valley is EXACTLY as I remember it! What a shot!
And SHIRLEY... we met a couple in Bermuda who had chucked their 11 room home in Montreal, packed it all up or gave the rest away, and were now LIVING on their 26' boat and loving every second of the freedom from owning what they called "stuff"!!! We met them during a blinding rainstorm on that beautiful island and it absolutely made our trip the most memorable time we had spent in Bermuda. They seemed to be in their early 60s.
SANDY, are you that gorgeous slim lady in your newest picture? WOW!
MARIE, sorry about the heat returning so soon! MMMMmmmmm...me, too! Just love chicken and dumplings!
YAWN...ZZZZzzzz! Guess where I'm headed right now!

I am having a Technological breakdown today. My sportswatch wouldn't update the firmware and I had to talk to their support for about an hour to get it fixed. Then I had trouble updating my iPad and now my main computer won't boot up. I've had troubles with my desktop computer before but this may be it for it. I hate having to reinstall everything. You can never get it back the way you had it before. ERRRRRRRRR    :sad hank
But on a good side, thank you all for the compliments on my photos. Here's one from my front yard. they make me smile.

Just beautiful Jeri! The lighting is great, you must study before you snap your picture. It must be a great way to envision the world, through a photographers eyes.
before you send it to pc heaven, or the other direction, try this, unplug everything that is connected but not necesssary. I had issues when I left my ipod plugged in. My pc wouldn't restart. Once I removed the ipod, it was fine. Just a guess though.
Im drooling for an all in one pc, but so far,I've managed to resist the purchase. I dont use my pc so much and I dont want to buy before I need to. Technology just keeps rolling out better gadgets!
Buzz, so glad you have a diagnosis for your pain. That arthritis is mean stuff! Take care of yourself.
sandy, it was a great photo, and resizable, too bad your gd wasnt in it. Great photo and you and her.
Marie, glad you like Bubba, everyone does! We have several at home. I make koolaid in them. Your food sounds good on this plan. Maybe a few more fresh vegetables, not canned. But you can always drain and rinse the canned ones.
Welcome back Becky, sounds like you had lots of fun.
I'm supposed to be asleep, so here I go0 -
:flowerforyou: : Good morning pjsattic. I know what you mean about technology gettting ahead of us. As soon as I buy a new laptop it becomes obsolete. Frustrating. !!!!
:flowerforyou: Buzz, one good thing about arthritis is that they say that exercising can help it. So, there you go.....talk to your doctor for an OK and then work you pain away.
:flowerforyou: Jeri, I had my computer go screwy a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't get it to boot. And, I was concerned that I had gotten a virus. If I remember right, I shut it all down and then removed the battery. Put the battery back in. Now it is running fine.
:flowerforyou: Marie, you are doing so good. Congratulations. I brought a 100 calorie pack of microwave popcorn to work with me today. I will be driving all my co-workers crazy with the smell.
Well, my daughter and I are both signed up for two classes in the fall session at the YMCA.0 -
I just lost my post when I went to enter my reply so I will try again. :explode:
Buzz: I hope your elbow gets better soon. Arthritis added to the problem just
makes it worse. It will heal but you have to be patient it might take a
while.
Jeri: I love your beautiful pic of the poppies. Our trumpet bush I planted this year
because our clamatis was not doing well. I looked at it last night and the
clamatis is growing like crazy and I have two trumpet flowers bright orange.
Becky: Have fun with your classes. I used to take yoga at our Y but you have to have
a membership you just can't pay for classes. Since I work part time I had to
quit it was getting to expensive.
Beautiful day today I think I will walk at lunch today.
<<<It is always the simple that produces the marvelous>>>Amelia E. Barr0 -
:flowerforyou: Shirley, I have lost more posts then I want to think about. I just keep hitting the wrong key. As for the YMCA...I have a wonderful deal. My employer paid for my registration fee plus 20% of the membership.
We are having beautiful weather. Not too hot like it has been lately. No rain. Just perfect.0 -
Blast it all ############## You wouldn't really know what I said. And what i think.
I got to go make me some cornbread So will check in later and post my Happy Star. I am going to earn it. You bet'chm How do you spell what I am trying to post?
Have a wonderful Dinner.0
