I just love James Patterson's books! He is an awesome writer, in my opinion. I have read 25 of his books with 50+ to go.

    I  Jane Austen.
Also Shannon Hale, David Eddings, and Madeline L'Engle. Yes, the mostly write fantasy, and it's mostly YA fiction, but the stories just come alive.
Oh, and another classic: Alexandre Dumas.
And Shakespear, but he's more of a playwrite than an author.

I love JRR Tolkein. I re-read LOTR every summer...probably makes me a bit of a geek, but I can't get enough of that story!

I don't know if I've ever met another person that loves Piers. I haven't read any of that series, but I've read all except the newest of the Xanth series (and most of the others at least twice).

I also like Trudy Canavan, JRR Tolken, and Christopher Paolini.

oh wow, another great topic Crystal!! I just finished my first Ken Follet book, amazing (historical fiction), Wally Lamb (contemporary fiction), the hilarious Janet Evanovich series (can't remember name of character but smartass, wisecracking, wild female bail bonds "person" lol), Daphne DuMaurier's Rebecca (fiction), Deepak Copra's The Third Jesus, Gabriel Garcia Marquez (magic realism), Michael Pollan (non-fiction, amazing researcher and writer), oh my, so many, I could read all day if given the opportunity!!
