Well, I thought I'd get us started since I'm up and lots of you will be up in only a handfull of hours.
Here are my meals for Tuesday and I'll weigh in in the morning!

1: pumpkin pie oatmeal & gala apple
2: cranberry spinach ricotta stuffed chicken breast baked over quinoa (leftovers!! BEST meal in a long time!)
3: chocolate protein shake
4: 1 med banana & 1.5 tbsp almond butter
5: yam & black bean stew w/ black japonica rice

Not sure about exercise. I would love to get some in but my cousin is coming tomorrow (haven't seen him and his wife in 3 years and will get to meet their 5 month old daughter!) so lots of getting ready and cooking to prep, but I'll be going downtown for an ingredient and if the weather is good I'll be walking it. I don't mind having a couple of rest days - my body seems to need it a bit anyway.

Remember, 1 weigh-in is 1 weigh-in. If you don't see what you want just make the choices that will lead you in the right direction. If you love what you see, congrats! but remember that this is a forward-motion journey. What will count for the NEXT weigh-in is what you do between today and a week from now. Success is to be enjoyed but is not an excuse to slack off. Great work ladies!

So based on the fact that I ate very badly this past holiday weekend but it seems all the exercise evened it out >>> .8 lb weight loss isnt horrible given the situation. So I was at 151 and now I'm at 150.2. I'll turn in all my measurments later today... thanks for all of your support.

S: starbucks skinny cinnamon dolce latte
    L: progresso chicken noodle soup
S: fiber one oats and chocolate bar

    Good Morning
I am here waiting to here from the school to see if the bus is going to run at our house today. It didnt run yesterday so my kids didnt go to school. We only have about 1 1/2 inches of snow so hopefully it will.
Surprisingly I am still at 265 from Friday. I thought I would weigh more today due to TOM.

    Mornin’ Sixers,

Tjones, recipe for Mexican corn looks yummy,
Pedal, recipe for egg white bites sound good, do you use a mini muffin tin or regular size and how many does 4 egg whites make? Hope you get to walk to the store today.
Kristen, Thank you so much for putting all those recipes together. You’re a sweetheart:heart:
Amy & Shanell, Good job anyway, gaining less than 1 pound the week after Thanksgiving is not bad in my book.
Connie, rlh0614, Great job on the loss this week.

I’m down under 200 and down after Thanksgiving. This is a big accomplishment for me. I almost can’t believe I made it this far. As usual I feel I owe most of the credit to my new group of friends, the Sixers. :smooched:

This week I will be studying for finals, among Christmas shopping & cooking for the family, so I will have short posts this week and may miss a day or two. I am keeping exercise & eating healthy a priority during this busy week. This will give me more energy and a sharper mind to keep me going.

well learned something today. don't go the gym without something to eat and when you have to have blood drawn and have bad vains to begin with. it took her 2 trys and she got JUST enough. i tried to drink extra water, didn't work well. i had a hard time with the gym today too. nurse asked that i don't do the workout next time. no problem. doc said he wants me at 1500 calories. i said i go to 1800 on good workout days he said that was fine. he took me off 1/2 my blood pressure meds and off my trygrecites(sp) meds. we made a deal if i get to below 200 he will lower my diabeties meds in half. he said he is seeing kidney problems starting and will determine what to do after my blood work comes back again. the problem is i don't need the BP meds, but, it helps keeping my kidneys good. so a catch 22. kidneys problem comes with diabeties. so will wait and see what happens.

well, time for a nap. i am really tired this mornig. check back later.

Hey Ladies.... I am going through some crazy crap at my Mom's house. She lives w/ her husband of 5 yrs and he acts crazy and jealous every time I come to town. This time I came for thanksgiving and to get a job. My mom asked if it was fine if I look for a job and he said... OF Course. Well, last night I was on line looking for jobs and he yanks the cord out of the wall (yes my mom is the only person left w/ dial up... because they don't have dsl in the country area). Said I need to leave and I am not welcome because I am tying up the phone line.... that no one uses. WOW. Sorry for venting but REALLY. My MOM DESERVES BETTER. She already said she was going to divorce him because he is crazy but I want her to act now. Anyway, he called the police and they told him I didn't have to leave..... ANYWAY.... My Mom divorced my dad because she didn't want to be cheated on and now after raising us she remarried and in 5 yrs he is crazy. I'm sorry she will be divorce twice... but this is nuts. WHY??? If you love her than you should love her child. Also I only visit 2 times a year. Plus as a single parent my mom has raised 2 girls that are doctors. Anyway.... even through the drama... I lost 4 lbs this week. I am 220. Well ladies... I'm going to get back to the job search. Pray for us. Thanks a million. OH yeah, then this 59 yr old man told me I was fat and I look horrible. His entire family including him are overweight.... wow. But It didn't bother me. I know I am strong and I'm happy that I am confident w/ my weight. I have lost 22 lbs and I am improving my life since I am finish w/ the stresses of dental school. Yay.

Hey hey! Just on my lunch break. I thought I'd share a recipe for this week. I'm making this tomorrow:

    Lazy Day Lasagna

12 Whole Wheat Lasagna Noodles, uncooked
1 (12 oz.) Bag Morningstar Veggie Crumbles
4 Cups Hunt's Four Cheese Spaghetti Sauce
    1 1/2 Cups Water
1 (15 oz.) Container Nonfat Ricotta Cheese
    1/2 Cup Egg Substitute
9 Slices Kraft 2% Swiss Cheese

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the crumbles, sauce and water. In a small bowl, combine ricotta cheese and egg substitute. Spray a 9X13 pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spread 1 Cup of sauce in the bottom of pan. Arrange 4 noodles over the sauce. Spread another cup of sauce, then 1/3 of the ricotta mixture. Add another cup of sauce, and repeat the whole process until you end with a layer of sauce. Cover and bake 70 minutes. Uncover and place cheese slices on top, then bake for another 15 minutes uncovered. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

    Serves: 9

I'm hoping to have time to read everyone's responses tonight from home... Work is keeping me crazy busy.

I LOST weight over Thanksgiving and gained it back yesterday and today. :grumble:

    w1:161
    w2: 161

Thankfully I'm back at the starting point and haven't officially 'gained' any weight back.

I'm PMSing and in a pretty foul mood. :indifferent: I'll try to come back tonight in a better state of mind and with a recipe or three. :flowerforyou:

    Hey Ladies,

Kristen just messaged me and told me that I posted on last weeks post so I will copy and paste in a minute.

Rhiannon thanks for the motivation, RLH A loss is a loss, Congrats to deb for losing.
Chipper, Congrats on getting 1/2 of your meds reduce that's a step toward progress.
Tamm I'm so sorry for your troubles at home. I know it's hard to see you mom in a dumb situation. AS far the man calling you fat...blow it off. I am of Christian faith and when people say or do mean things to me i try to remind myself to play ta game. i tell myslef that these mean people were sent by the devil to get me angry and to make me go off and if I don't then he loses and God gets a point.

One of my favorite sayings is "he who angers you, conquers you" don't let anyone make you get upset or feel less than because of their stupidity.

Thank you ladies and great job

    Hello All,

I hope that you are having a good day.

Allie, that chicken ab black beans sounds so good. Kristen, thanks for the suggestions I will try the recipe one day. Pedal, yes it's hard sticking to someone elses'smeal plan but I think I'm going to have to stop because some of the requested food is out of my budget plan right now. i figure I will try it in 2 weeks.

Shanell good job with sticking to your work out. I felt like that yesterday because i had tio drag myself to the gym but i felt good after but sooooo sore today.

i weighed myself last night at the gym and it said that i gained 2lbs. but I didn't cry.

Today I didn't do well on my eating plan because I ran late for work and didn't fix my meals
    LACK OF PLANNING EQUALS FAILURE!!!!!!!!!

Today, I've eaten 1/2 of sandwich and cup of soup from the bread company (turkey on honey wheat with lettuce and tomato not sauce) apple and water AND a cookie ( so good but I felt guilty)

    3 rice cakes
and i've drank 24 oz of water i have to get 2 liters in today.

    keep pushing!!!!!!!!!

Yay Tan! You found it! I added your progress into the list below...you did say a 2 pound gain correct? No worries! I'm sure it will come off again quickly! I also love that quote: "He who angers you, conquers you." VERY good.

Well...hoping to hear from the rest of our ladies!

    KATY......AMY.......ANDREA......ROBIN......CASS.....KATIE

I am getting ready to leave work here in a few and head to the gym for Step class and Ab workout. Very excited for that! And...I'm excited to say that I've been looking more into getting certified to be a fitness instructor. I want to teach Spinning, Step, and BodyPump. I want to get more in shape before teaching Step or BodyPump, but spinning is one I'm wanting to start with. BUT there are no trainings in our area currently. And my friend at the gym said that they just recently had one here so there probably won't be one for a while. Oh well...something to look forward to! I'm on the email list so that when one comes to our area I will be notified! I'll keep y'all posted!!!!

Well...time to get a few last things finished! I'll check back probably not until tomorrow morning. Have a FABULOUS evening girlies!

Oh I forgot to note my exercise. I'm going to do the biggest loser DVD.

I like fun food so heres a quick and easy meal especially for movie nights at home with your loved ones

    chicken quesadilla's
    YOU WILL NEED
tortillas wheat or white(whatever you fancy)
    2 per quesadilla
    chopped tomatoes
    chopped green onion
4 thin sliced chicken breast( you can buy them thin or if you like you can use regular chicken breast0
1 pack of old elpaso seasoning
    shredded lettuce
salsa ( try mango, pineapple, peach, or regular whatever you fancy)
shredded cheese mexican GET THE 2% IT'S A LITTLE HEALTHIER
SKILLET preferable non stick and big enough for you to flip the quesadilla

1st.. wash chicken, season it to taste (but watch the salt)
cook it on george forman if you have one (saves time) other wise cook it in a pan on stove using a little water (do not bake chicken)
while chicken is cooking dice all tomatoes and onions and lettuce
once chicken is finished, dice it an place it in a sauce pan. sprinkle the old elpaso seasoning and enough water to cover chicken. allow to simmer and mix well.
    ONCE CHICKEN IS FINISHED
take a tablespoon of salsa and spread in on one tortilla. add cheese( about 2 fingertips full) but not too much, add a table spoon 1.2 of chicken, add onion and tomato. place the tortilla in the already sprayed pan that has been warming up on low heat. once in the skillet place the other tortilla on top.

Press down with spatula, flip it after 5 mins or when you know the cheese has melted some. keep flipping every 5 min until golden brown, and melted. divide in fours and enjoy!

CORN SALSA WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO MAKE IT AS WELL AS BLACK OLIVES AND ANY OTHER VEGGIE YOU MIGHT ENJOY.

if any of this was confusing and you want to try it just let me know.

    Hey ladies!!

Just checking in and wanted to share a funny story with you. So before I left for Thanksgiving last week my sister said she had sent me an "early Christmas present" that she thought I needed before the holidays. I assumed it was an ornament for my tree or a new piece for my Willow Tree Angel Nativity. It didn't come before I left and so I went to the apartment office today to pick it up. I told the girl there that it was probably a smaller box (remember thinking it is an ornament) and she looked at all the small ones and soon discovered that it was actually a very large and VERY heavy box from Target. I could barely get it back to my apartment.

Confused, I opened it up and inside was a set of adjustable hand weights that I had asked for for Christmas!! My sister knew I was trying to stay in shape over the holidays and is very supportive of me and thought I would like to have them before Christmas!   Basically I have the best big sister ever (which is funny because although she is 5 years older, she is not bigger, she's very very tiny, like 5'2" and 115 lbs. haha  )

I just thought that was funny, no wonder the box was so heavy!!!!!

I will catch up on personals soon. Tammara, hang in there, I know it is hard when we can see something that our loved ones can't, but I will keep your family in my prayers and hope that everything works out for the best.

kisitin tried the fish tonight, all three of us loved it. i didn't have enough parm cheese so used what ever cheese i had in the fridge. thanks for sharing
going to try the chicken in the crock pot when i can some beans and salsa.
drtamm...if that is your moms house you need to get the dead beat out. can you stay with her for awhile and help her get over the divorce? you will be in my prayers. my MIL was married to an abuser (not FIL) and kept her home bound. she got in trouble for getting mayo one time. anyway after all the kids telling her to get rid of him she finially saw what he was doing and left him. she had to see it for herself. we just were there when she needed us.

popcorn night with biggest loser. i am sure glad we do these mini challenges. the other one i am in is falling apart. it was a very long one, people are just giving up i think. but, the holidays people think that if they eat a day or two it's the end. it's not the end. that's why you guys are great, we all do it. we all pick ourselfs back up and dust ourselfs off and we're off running again.

well, off to take a bath............

    later gater....cathy

Kristin, good for you! I miss teaching... I'll definitely get back into it when my schedule is more predictable (read: when the kiddos are a little older). You'll be a very inspirational teacher

Tan, thanks for sharing that! Sounds yummy!

AmyLou, that's great - isn't it nice to have supportive family??

Well, speaking of family I need to get supper ready for my family gathering tonight! My cousin, his wife and their baby plus my brother and his partner are all coming for yam black bean stew and tree trimming! My cousin's wife can't have dairy right now so I bought some vanilla almond milk to make some homemade hot chocolate after supper. :drinker:

Cathy, SO TRUE about this great group of sixers, eh?? We're strong and we're strong for each other!!

Kristin, I'm also eager to try that fish recipe. I can't find tilapia anywhere around here but I'll use another whitefish like halibut or sole.

Okay, seriously I'm hauling myself away from you guys!!
