Dear team, I'm feeling a bit blue today because my body is not cooperating with my brain. I want to work out, but I simply don't have the energy and I'm still suffering from a touch of queeziness. Last night, after getting back home, I tried to do squat kicks and had to stop after only 4. Today I slept in and it took all I had to make a trip to the grocery store...which took longer than necessary! Anyways, I realize that resting will help to get me back to normal, but it's not easy for me to sit and do nothing. :-(0

It's your body telling you that you MUST rest. I only got 60 minutes done today instead of 90 and my body is DONE. There is always tomorrow. You have been doing WONDERFUL this entire challenge and I am very proud of you!!!!!!0 -

First of all thank you for the update Elana! You are showing the true meaning of perseverance by not giving up!
Sherri the tuck jumps hurt me so bad on the landing. I don't give up on them because I'm not a quitter BUT I did 20 then I substituted with globe jumps. I seriously want to go out and do them on the trampoline but that doesn't count, lol. Tuck jumps really show me how much I've aged since I was a cheerleader in high school. My knees are just not what they used to be. Nope I can't bring my knees up very high "yet" and I look ridiculous when I do them.0 -
I would like to take some time this am to praise those of you who have PERSEVERED this entire month of August. I understand that everyone is at different fitness levels. It is also understood that some of you have serious health issues. You are parents, spouses and employees. You have a life and real obligations. That's why it is so impressive and incredible to see you all getting ready to cross over the finish line. Nearly 50% of the people on this team dropped out for one reason or another since the beginning of August. Do I blame myself for it? Nope, not one single bit. I feel I tried VERY hard to reach out to people and encourage them to stay the course. These people dropped out for their own reasons and I don't take it personally. The ones that let me down the most are the people who have no health issues what so ever and decided to just give up.
Only you know how hard you pushed yourself this month. If you are not happy with the results then look back and examine what areas you are weak in and think about how you can improve. I'm not the most athletically gifted member of this team. Some of it is due to physical problems and some of it is just a mental block I need to overcome. But I don't give up and say I can't. You all didn't either so thank you for sticking with me all the way to the very end. We are almost to the finish line!!!0 -
Lori,
Sorry I fell out the past few days. My schedule has been way off with my son home on leave (late nights and entertaining pretty much every night); then Thurs-Sat I had loaned out my car to my boyfriend who needed it more than I did since I work at home and he has to travel all day.
Health - 50, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis in my knees. I need alternates to high impact knee stressors (jumping/lunging and jumping/squatting).
To summarize what I did achieve on the days I haven't reported:
D1:
A little over calorie goal.
80 ounces water
3 sets 21s
2 sets 20 swimmers press
2 sets 20 windshield wipers
100 crunches
2 out of 5 extra miles walked
D2:
Under calorie goal
64 oz water
100 crunches
100 jumping jacks
2 sets of 20 tucks
50 squat kicks
20 globe jumps
1 out of 5 extra mile
D3:
Under calorie goal
64 oz water
3 sets 20 woodchops
20 split squat jumps
100 extra crunches
40 extra reverse crunches
D4:
Under calorie goal
80 oz water
1.25 out of 5 miles walked
120 minutes swimming (out of 480 in water)
D5:
Under calorie goal
64 oz water
rest
D6:
Under calorie goal
80 oz water
6 out of 5 extra miles
180 ab crunches (100 regular, 40 reverse, 40 oblique)
3 sets 12 swimmer presses
3 sets 21's
D7:
Total team commitment for week:
500 extra crunches / 520 completed
500 jumping jacks / 100 completed
5 extra miles / 10 completed
Will make up for as much as I can today.
Cheers,
Judy0 -
Rest day today, but still drank tons of water & under cals.
Lost 1.2 lbs this week0 -

Awww Judy ty so much and you are NOT one of the 50% that dropped out. We seriously had close to half of the people that started this challenge throw in the towel :frown:
I'm sooooo happy for you that you have time with your baby!!! Gary often tells me to have people do toe touches or walk a mile to substitute an exercise!
Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Sunday and TY for updating us!!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Rest day today, but still drank tons of water & under cals.
Lost 1.2 lbs this week
CONGRATS Jules that is awesome!!!! :drinker:0 -
Wow...I was remiss in posting last night!! I fell asleep REALLY early after a day in the sun!!
Yesterday...under cals
WAY over water
Challenge exercises I did NOT do, but did them today along with my workout this morning, so they are done!
Extras:
Did 150 jumping jacks
200 crunches
Sorry it took me till now to post it!! Definitely NOT a rest day for me!!0 -
Feeling so great to be back on track!
I got caught up on all of Friday (Day 5) and Saturday (Day 6) team challenges (though I can't do tuck jumps very well at all).
Since I was forced to rest on Fri & Sat, one will have to be an official rest day for points, but I didn't get all my water down on either day. Calories good both days.
Did 2 more miles toward team challenge this evening. Will have to go back for my totals.
******************************
Editing to report the following:
This week I completed 850/800 committed crunches, 200/200 committed JJs, 4/5 committed miles completed.0 -
Amazing so many dropped out. Why commit to something for only a month and drop out. I felt exhausted at times but felt the need to persevere. This is my desire to get in better shape. Eating healthy, drinking water and exercising does not come easy for me. But I felt I could do it for at least 4 weeks. Drinking water was extremely hard for me at the beginning, but I find myself now going over the 8 glasses without even realizing it. I would like to thank those that remained and of course a BIG THANK YOU goes out to Lori for being such a great cheerleader for us all.

Hellooooooooooooooo EVERYONE
Hope you all had a wicked weekend filled with lots of sweat, burn and good food
As disappointing as it is to have about 50% of the team pull out I'm happy that you did have drop outs otherwise I would not have had the opportunity to meet you all as well as be part of this challenge. It was a great way for me to stick to it and being part of the MFP family is helping me with my eating choices.
I posted earlier about a challenge that was happening at my gym, I've decided not to do it because the transformation will not be enough to make it worthwhile. I'll just continue what I'm doing, exercising and improving my diet.
Today's challenges were a struggle. I'm at the moment going through a lupus flare and today I was EXHAUSTED after my bootcamp session. I actually didn't think I was going to get through the exercises so I started off with the "low-intensity" stuff and next thing you know I was on the last exercise for the day.
10 mountain climbers -check
10 burpees - check
10 globe jumps - check
10 zigzag hops - check
50 reverse crunches - check
50 original crunches - check
200 jumping jacks -check
Yesterday's stats: water - over / cals - under
I feel like I've eaten heaps today. Thanks to my chat with KJ yesterday I realised that my lupus flare could have been triggered by not eating enough...today I think I overdid it! Aw well, you live and you learn right?
CHEERS EVERYONE - HAPPY MONDAAAAAAAAAAAAY and yeap I'd love to hook up with you all at Lori's!
 :drinker:0 -
Ty for all of the updates!!!!!
Oh don't even tease me about meeting up at my place. Do you know how much I would LOVE to meet all of you in person?!!!!
Posting today's challenge: Monday 8/29 - Final Days make them count! 200 Jumping Jacks, 100 Crunches, 10 burpees, 10 mountain climbers, 10 globe jumps, 10 Squat Kicks, 10 ZigZag Hops! These are a little different. IF YOU ARE ABLE AND YOU ARE! Do these consecutively. No stopping to rest, don’t break these into sets!
If you don't give me your weight today I need it ASAP tomorrow which is officially our very last day!!0 -

Weigh in - 154lbs/70kgs
You'd think with all the hair I'm losing that would help bring the number down but NOOOOOOOOOOO! Aw well, I'll just be happy that there was a drop despite the little amount at least it's something.
Today I met up with KJ who is teaching me how to swim and we kicked it in the pool for about 45mins.
3 mile run - check
Tabata - check
Yesterday's cals under / water over and I introduced my sis Maria. Please feel free to add her, she has never done anything like this before i.e counted calories but she is keen for a change of lifestyle and excited about joining me in September's challenge.
Actually I'm going to see if she can get on a team if it's not too late.
Happpppppppppppy Tuesday family0
