I came home from work today and tied up my tennis shoes and got in 3 more miles of running today. I have less than 4 miles to finish the ironman. I don't know where this determination has come from but I like it:happy:   !!

    - Maine: okay so I agree Wells Beach is not a stripping safe zone. So where I was, it was. Pull up maps.google.com. Then type in Jackson Maine. Yeah. See that you're in the middle of ****ing no where. Yeah imagine that with snow up to your ****ing armpits till April 16. (I love you Renae I have no idea now you do it/aren't insane). **** that ****. (Can you tell I didn't like Maine yet?)

Yes. I might return someday. I know it is pretty Renae ;) And I did meet Stephen King at the Grocery in Orono, but I just want to burn that section of the state down with Napalm, I hope you understand ;)D

    Bobbie
    - Why is it, that Bowling alley's have THE best WORST food there is? Cheese fries, Pretzel bites w/nacho cheese, jalapeno poppers, pizza, deep fried macaroni and cheese... yes I said it, and it was ****ing tasty too. ;) LOL...

    Staci
-- For once it was your post that actually made me snort out loud :) Because I can just hear you cursing my name over and over. That ****ing fat *****, I can't believe she talked me into this. **** her. **** her I am going home right now.. ;) LOL *HUGGGGGS* I lubs you still for it. I'm glad you had the ice cream sundae too. You seriously deserved it :) *HUGGGS* :D

    Becky
    - I lubs you too... I habs a secret... I didn't want to tell you about my second bat wings... I've had them for a while now. Just below the elbow... They're disgusting... it's a second little flabby pouch of floppy *kitten* skin. I can't believe it. I have more bad news for you... the second batwings are sliding alllllll the way down each of my forearms to my wrists now.. when I pick my arms up off the desk and put them down, I have wide arms, thin arms, wide arm, thin arm. wigggle jiggle wiggle no ****ing giggle!!!! it's not funny god dammit!!! I'm turning into god damn fudgy the ****ing un pudgy super sludgy unwhale. (fudgy the whale, an ice cream cake from my husbands childhood) Makes me think of the floppy fat everytime I don't know why.
So I've just picked up a new Reebox shirt size XLT from Casual male, it's not compression which is a ****ing bummer. but it has longer sleeves. ALSO>>>>> Underarmor and Nike both make longsleeve compression gear, which I'll be buying very effing soon. Dude okay so it is helping *a little* I noticed on the initial batwing. It *SEEMS* to be shrinking a little. ACTUALLY I just measured. Remember I told you it was 6.5 inches? it's now down to 4.5 inches below my bicep... STFU. Yeah momma is going to get more of those god damn shirts, that's for sure. I may NEVER take them off. They make pants too. But the 2x doesn't fit me, so I'll have to order from online the 3x UA shorts. And If stuff flips out from the edge... sO WHAT. Remember when ALL OF YOU used to slip out from EVERY EDGE????? Yeah okay. so who cares about a little back fat, and a bat wing or two. It's going. It's just taking it's sweet mary time about moseying off the planet Becky. ;) I'll send my minions to despatch the slackers ;) *blows whistle* Every one out of Becky's Pool today too dammit!!!!!

And congrats on the bike Becky Badger Bruised Butt ;)
Oh and about the swimming. I just swim 150m sections till I can't breathe, then I take a 1 min break. Most of my 25m laps are around 45 seconds. And I'm following the triathalon manuals that say *not* to kick as it burns up too much oxygen with your quads. So I 'shimmy' my hips back and forth as directed and 'flop' at the knee which gives the suggested 10% boost of speed/power from your legs. So it's all Arms/back that's driving my body through the water mostly. Although. I do get a wicked Illiopsoas cramp into my quad on my right leg last time I swam. I might need to stretch out before swimming next time. *i know bad me*

    Andrea
-- I haven't jumped rope since double dutch when I was like 12.. Keep trying kiddo you can do it!

    Steph
--Congrats to you on your exercises this month you've way out done me ;) I've been a pudge comparitively :) *HUGGGS* Very happy for you. Don't worry about the lbs. they're coming you're building muscle, just keep it lean my dear :)

    Jane
-- You're not slacking either my darling I've seen that chart ;) Keep on truckin' my dear. I admire you and Stephanie for swimming. I remember when I visited the UK how difficult it was to find access there to a good pool. So, hang in there ;)... Btw! How much longer till yer next milestone the 100kg? Youve got to be close? You'll be joining Becky and I very soon! (and thanks darling, doing my best :)

    Renae
    - Actually funny thing about bowling. Apparently when you aren't as big as a house you get pretty good scores. Got my all time high score when I went there last month 137 I think it was? I should go again. ;D Not on a friday night. The blacklight and lasers were messin with my aim ;) ... And I'm sorry I didn't record my release today.. BUT I'm telling you recording it on a chicken finger box w/fries isn't right ;)

    Carla
--Good luck and keep on going!! You did medal because you participated. :) Which is more important than any amount of crazy statistics or dive charts or calibrations. You did it for you. And the fact that you're going for round 2 proves that point. I am very proud of you and your accomplishments and that you did it while on vacation as well. :) *HUGGGS* keep up the good work!

So my exercising lately has been unfortunately limited to errands and housework and such. It's sucky, but that's the way it goes. I've meant now to get in the pool both monday and tuesday. I'll tell myself I'll go again tomorrow (wed) and I guess it's only day this week I'll get any time in. foot appt thurs with pT and one on fri with surgical guy that I scammed appt with. Oh tha'ts a story ;)

Congrats to everyone who has participated in this months challenges. I am so happy all of you have done so very very well. :)

Greg -Maine is wicked awesome. We have the beautiful mountains, 100's of lakes and the breath taking Atlantic coastline. Fall foliage is on it's way which is my favorite time of year. If you like fishing, camping, skiing, hiking, biking and breathing fresh air then you would love Maine. Cyndi was obviously not dressed appropriately for winter in Jackman - don't let her scare you. We don't go insane up here because we don't fight nature - we go with it and try to enjoy what it has to offer. Plus most of us don't get out much so we don't know what we're missing in the rest of the country

Cynthia - We would love to hear your 'surgical guy story'. I hope you get to the pool today.

Staci - Way to go IronWoman! You've had a great month so far. We'll be ready to see an updated pix soon.

Carla - You've had an amazing month too! Another IronWomen. So much movement. I'm very impressed.

Steph - Sounds like you needed a day of rest before you go great guns again. You're doing great. Such a motivator for me.

Take it easy Hump Day Hotties - as Stac would say. Ya - that's right Greg - you qualify too. Every pound dropped brings us that much closer to hotness. Another 16lbs and I'll be lighter than I have been in 15 years. I think at that point I'll finally feel like I'm not just playing catch up, but really working towards an honorable goal of getting healthy. I'm ready for that!

Oh yeah... the bike... <<<<long pause for dramatic effect>>>> ... <<no, I said LONG pause!>> ... is conquered!!

<<Clouds open, angels sing, listen for it... listen!>>

So then, just for good measure, I went ahead and did an extra mile, just cause I could. Then, to add insult to the bike, I went ahead and "jogged" 1.53 miles on the elliptical in 22 minutes. Take that you evil bike! Take THAT!!

ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha... Love it! Woot! Woot! to me!!

I'd do a happy dance... but my *kitten* won't allow it. Oh well! I'll happily do one in my mind! OK -- gotta go, I am freezing cold and it's late. Thanks for the feedback from everyone... and Cyndi, how sweet of you to say that I will be at that 3 digit release... I can't help but actually LAUGH out loud. I'm sorry, but I just can't seem to get that dang scale to move! It's pissing me off! Argh! <<BIG SIGH>> Seriously sooooo frustrated. And that's not good, I don't necessarily do well when frustrated!

Can't believe I forgot to tell you guys about the Surgeon?! Okay so this is more foot fu... First of all the first surgeons I was referred to I was told point blank. "We are not taking patients for foot/ankle problems. And we faxed your doctor back to tell them that." I'm like wtf. So then I had to call the referral dept. and I said look I'll help you look, I go and see that the guy they referred me to before, for my Ankle & Knee when I fell & destroyed it but good is on this list. I"m like just send me to him. THanks. So they say they 'sent' the referral. (I shoulda known they lied).

So i call the Surgeons office and say I need to schedule an appt from my referral. They say we don't have it. I said fine, I'll deal with that later. I need to schedule an appt with Dr. Ferry to get my Tendon looked at. She tells me "We don't treat people for foot/ankle problems." I said that's ****ing funny, because you've already seen me for it I"m an existing patient. ... *big *kitten* pause of dead air*... What was your date of birth again. I tell her, Ohhh I thought you said 1959... No 69, summer of the Bra Burnings at Berkely.. "The what?" Okay you're young, just find me in the database yet? Yes. OH I see you were here for *pause* Ankle & Knee on (date). Yeah I say... *pause from her* So Um, is this a follow up appointment to that. *BING GOES THE LIGHT IN MY HEAD* yes, it's a follow up appointment.... "okay, how's friday at 9am? " Just ****ing fantastic princess... write my name down... K-R-A-F-T like the ****ing cheese. Okay, see you then. Great.

Dude. So I have to call the referral department. Uh Mary Lou, here's the deal, I told them follow up. Can you send the referral to say that? "Sure, no problem. " .. ****ing sweet. >> I'd dance a jig but it hurts so much this week I can barely walk. *sighs*

    *evil scammer* :D
**** 'em if they can't take a joke. their rules not mine. You're a ****ing Osteopathic surgeon, Ooh but I don't want to do the *hard* bits. Just the easy knees and hips. Well **** off. :P

    Renae
    - You're already wearing a large I'd like to report. That's pretty ****ing awesome. My Thigh can wear a large. ;D Oh and I'm the smallest I've been since I met hubby in 1994 ;) *zing* Break out those Jordache momma, it's celebrating time soon ;) When I go home for Christmas, I'm going to root my closet at mom's house and see if I can find my HS clothes ;)D I'll be needin those *****es soon! ;D
Also I will agree Maine is beautiful, just that one part I would like to Napalm. Well really one particular *kitten*. Maybe 2 or 3 other people. Aaaah lets call it an even dozen for collateral damage. A day treat for any Seal Team. Trust me I thought about hiring one. Was I jaded by my perspective on the world at that point. Hells yes. Do I like winter. **** no. :) I'll be happy to vist in... Early August. I figure Warm enough, and maybe blackflies will be dead by then ;) LOL Or I'll just wear a bee keeping suit :D:D

(And Greg lives in Canada... yer fecking Warm to him. LMAO)

    - *hires the choirs of Angels to sing lullabies to Becky for her Biking triumph*
    - Congrats honey... I'm so proud of you ;) May your buns of steel never have to see the seat of doom again ;) (Will it help you to heal to know I'm thinking of buying a new K2 cromolly framed bike like I had in college to start IM training for real? :D)

**kitten* dances on her fitness ball for you*wtf it's extra ab work* :D
What did I tell you about chillaxing Yoda and letting the lbs flow? Maybe the gym closing is a good thing. Shut your OCD temple down for a day or two. Make you chillax and stop obsessing. Take the day off. Eat a ****ing cookie. YEAH I SAID COOKIE DAMMIT. You can't be that wound up, your body will clench right up and hang onto those pounds like a ****ing vise grip.

(stephy you need to chillax too)

I love you guys.. Seriously.. Zen.. *in with the good air*out with the bad air*less planning*more doing*

Maybe it's not such a bad thing I don't plan every day? Just wake up. Stretch. Wave to the sun. And go move your *kitten*. Do me favor. Just try it for the rest of the weekend okay? I know your weigh in is Monday. What have you got to lose? Nothing. ;) Or everything. No plans. Don't freak out. Stop stressing. Wake up, stretch, scratch under the boobies (oh it helps) the *kitten*. Yep go pee... weigh yourself. Take a shower. Get dressed. Figure out what you're next thing to do is. Most of you, work, then home. Then hopefully dinner with families, workouts, whatever. Let it happen. Don't freak out so much. If you workout.. awesome... If you only get a walk in at lunch, ehy! that's okay... If you only get the shopping done.. .no problem. Just make sure your only exercise isn't surfing the internet ;)

seriously..... Love you guys ... Zen Weekend.. Just do it. :D

Cyndi - I loved this little mention of the boob scratching - hilarious!! Cause you know it's got to be done. The first thing I do when I get home is ask the fam "am I done for the day ? do I need to cart any of you somewhere? or can I take this bra off?!!" Seriously it's part of my day. And since the lbs have dropped it's very itchy under there. TMI but I'm amongst friends. I also agree with your comment about *less planning*more doing*. That's the only way I can really do this since I'm on the go so much. I can plan my day out but I'd be hard pressed to know what the full week ahead of me will look like. Loved the surgeon story. It's always good when you can beat them at their own game. Such Bull$hit.

Becky- I heard your angels sing! Amazing job girlie! So happy for you. That's a ton of miles on a bike. I'm walking funny from the 10 miles I did yesterday.

This morning I was in the mood for change so instead of the treadmill I put in my Biggest Loser DVD and did 3 -10 minute workouts. It was fun and I sweat a lot! I think I'll try to do something like that a couple of times a week this winter.

NSV ALERT ** Last night while by DH was folding laundry he held up my jeans and said "Are these Addies?" **insert big smile here*** "No, I said, Those are MINE". Addie is our 14year old who wears size 8. Ya that felt nice. My 18's are that much smaller compared to the 24's he was used to folding. Life does improve with age!

What will I do today to make it count? Eat lite!! It's pouring rain outside so I'm thinking retail therapy during lunch. I already have a dress for the wedding but I want to go try a few more at another store on this side of town. Ya never know? I'll also need shoes and some spanks.

Becky- I call those moments like you had my "Hallelujah Happy Moments" and yes there is a choir of angel noise and raised hands to go with the moment. And yes, yes I believe I did hear it. Glad youtook some time for yourself and glad you are back. Love ya.

Cynthia- seriously a zen weekend? Hon, I am a neurotic, first born, OCD virgo here. I don't know if I can do zen. Let me stress through my workout tomorrow and then I will give it a try. I might be able to do it as we are going to our cabin so that will help but jeez. Okay, okay I will give it a try.

I did my quick check on the scale this morning and it still hasn't moved. Ugh so annoyed. It seems that this happend several months ago too. But I will keep moving and keep logging my food. I mean eventually the scale will start going down again right? See, Cynthia zen is hard for me.

Have a groovy day all and its Thursday so have a drink of water.

I'm surrounded by you crazy cold lovin' Cannucks I know ;)

Look people I grew up in Ohio. Lots of snow, ice, sleet, grey skies, ****ty weather, rain, mud, bugs, mosquitos and mowing grass.

First chance I got, I got out. Mine came in the form of a 5'9" hot guy with a 34" waist and dark hair and green eyes. (dude of course I said yes... duh?) Now yes I ruined him with my cooking... but that's why it's important for me to carp his *kitten* back to 34 ;) IF you break it, you BUY IT. ;) lmao..

So I know snow. I just don't dig it... don't hate me baby, I love the sun more. It's like the movie "Weird Science" with A very young and hot Val Kilmer, when Kent gets hit with the laser in the popcorn house.... and he throws his head back and pretends (well if it was real he would be frying) to fry like the popcorn.. Every time I get hit with the warmth of the sun that's what I feel like. Ooooohhhh and my little head tilts back and my arms stretch out and I move my tummy into absorption mode. ;) I'm like my beloved Honu on a rock ;) Bask....

    Renae
-- The boobs are my personal heating blankets I call them. I swear there is more thermal energy stored just 'under' them than in my core. (This can easily be expressed by lifting them on a hot sunny day and feeling underneath, pardon the 'dew'...) Jeasus is that like 20 degrees hotter than the sun?? YES YES IT IS! So I know EXACTLY what you mean about DONE? Bra off!! ZING! into the bin till tomorrow. When I first met Erik for the first 8 years or so I didn't even wear a bra, everywhere I went it was glorious. Then they got too fat and floppity and I couldn't take it. I might have to get *that* corrected when I'm done too ;) I would LOVE to be able to sail around no bra again.. (perhaps I am a hoochie harem girl at heart) Muhahahah

And hell to the yess *HIGH5* on the Jeans... Put those bad boys on and shake that *kitten* ;) LOL... Seriously every time I put my new pants on I can't stop grinning like a Cheshire cat. I know it's ridiculous. So I *know* how damn good that made you feel. ;)

Hubby said to me today "You know I'm happy to have a thinner wife at the end of the marriage instead of at the beginning"... I swear, sometimes ... See ***** like THAT* is why I married him. Now if he could just loose the dhole the rest of the time ;)

Can I tell you guys I can't stop buying compression shirts.. *giggles* I had to go get more of the Flex cream for my foot at Sports Authority (I've found a new crack emporium, I thought Home Depot and Checkers was bad... ****) So I don't even get to the cream and I've got a new pair of Ironman polarized sunglasses, and 4 Under Armor compression shirts. 3 longsleeve and 1 short sleeve.

Holy ****ing bat**** do the longsleeve rock the ****in casbah. I'm not kidding. Watch it wiggle, see it jiggle... no more! Okay upper batwing still a little but hey... duct tape wasn't going to save the Titanic either. BECKY BECKY BECKY. Go buy one of the long sleeve shirts. It's aaaammmmaaaazing :) The batwings are immobilized ;) And wicked comfy. The guys sizes are certainly large enough to fit and here's the thing, they guy shirts look just like the girls.
    http://www.underarmour.com
They have free shipping on orders over $125 right now (not hard to do with UA gear) and I also noticed in the mens section they have for sale capris ;)

So before when I said I might never take the shirt off with the short sleeve I was mildly annoyed by the sleeves riding up and down the batwings.. but the longsleeve. I tell you I've had it on for like 5 hours now and It's like a 2nd skin I can't even feel it on me any more except when I move sometimes I'll feel the soft fabric move with my skin. Freaky. The sleeves are a little long (like 3 inches) so I just folded them back on themselves and they're not binding at all.

    Staci
    - I've become more OCD about things the older I get, so I'll give you this advice. I didn't say don't pay attention to diet things. I just mean, don't do things because you are doing them *solely* for the diet. Like camping and kayaking and hiking, well that's a pretty awesome fun ZEN weekend to me ;) You'll get plenty of endorphins missy ;)
--- And the scale moved before didn't it ;) What makes you think it's going to stop again completely this time? Magic scale stopping dust bunnies in the gears? Goofy woman. Go enjoy your wilderness ;)

So I went to Physio today and got spoiled by Kevin and Stephen ;) I did my 8 min warm up on the treadmill since foot was killin me, I put it on incline 6, since I could only hobble at 1.4 mph. ***** aint it? *sighs* I'd have screamed but that would suck. I told the boys I was down 100lbs since I met them (because I am essentially) and they high5'd me. YAY! Told 'em about swimming the 2 miles in 60 mins, Stephen said he'd drown ;) LOL too funny. And got my foot ultrasonic'd and then Kev did his yanky mov'y twisty magic fingers thing and ice. Said he thought I deserved a break, so didn't make me to any exercise. I said, that's very zen of you ;) So apparently I have to behave too.

I cleaned the fridge for my exercise, it was gross. Threw out all the "wtf?" is that containers, and rotting veg *sighs* (never did make the minestrone) skimmed the fat off the stock I made, gave it a good shake, will get more next time it 'congeals" at the top. Then a cheesecloth strain or two and it should clarify... Took all the food out to the bin, yes in my UA shirt and man undies, luckily it's midnight ;) Maybe I'll do a load of dishes for hubby before bed , and I did a load of laundry. See all my little cleaning done ;) I think this weekend I'll tackle the closet clothes donation clean out so I can finally hang up all my new stuff instead of storing it on the cedar chest ;) See I'm already planning too much. But that's the goal anyway. Now whether it happens or not, well I dunno. There is a Buckeye game on Sat, and a Cardinals game on Sunday ;)

    Later Taters ;)

Good morning my fantastic friday fitness freaks! I am in such a good mood today. I went to Curves and came home and went for a walk. I went 3.1 miles andjust logged it in the spreadsheet and realized I need to only go 3/4 of a mile to finish my ironman distance for the month. I can't believe it. So, my parents are coming with us to the cabin this weekend and since i am the only one with a kayak I will probably leave it at home. But, since my dad is coming we will probably do some hiking. Yay!! I will bring my boots for sure. I have also been told that last weekend the 1 mile path around the lake was paved so I might be willing to actually run it this weekend. It is a hill freakin path though for only being a mile long.

Cynthia- okay I thing I can do the zen thing this weekend. I will give it a go.

JJ- I will head over to the other thread to check out your plans for October.

If I don't make it back before heading out to our cabin just know that when i walk or run my last .75 mile I will be in my hallelujah happy moment so if you hear those angels like Becky had then you will know it was me. I'll be logging by phone and can't get the spreadsheet on it but you can bet I will be in here logging it as soon as I get home Sunday. Have a great weekend all.

So, I'm looking at the spreadsheet and realizing that with less than 3 more rounds of swimming, I will have completed the ironman and in 27 more miles on the bike, I will have completed that leg twice. That is so damn amazing to me! Have I said thank you to all of you for making me push myself???

On another note, I am now able to run/jog/whatever-you-want-to-call-it around half the track at a time (35-40 seconds). I only did 8 laps, but 3 of them were done running:noway:!!!

So, please take my apologies and get your butt to that thread! Puh-lease? I can beg and it ain't pretty! I promise you that... I don't want to do the ugly beg...
  • Wait, are you not on there with us? I think that all the work and consistency you have shown in this challenge should warrant you a spot with the cool kids. I'm inviting you...c'mon over.

Lol, no, I'm not. But it's ok - cool kids are allowed to have their own space to be cool kids! :-D

Ugh. I feel so awful. I realized last night at like midnight when I was falling asleep that maybe not everyone in this challenge was on the other thread. Just never occurred to me and I feel so terrible. I was trying to not post about the new challenge here and take away from this one, but totally blew it. Please, please, please come join us on the other thread, and you are absolutely going to sign up for the October Challenge.

Darn it. That was so freaking rude of me, and I apologize.

JJ -- that's not about you... I promise that you are NOT being rude and I get why this happened... Small snafu, and it's all good now but please don't think anyone, ANYONE, was thinking you were rude... if anything you are about THE LAST person that would be purposefully hurtful or exclusionary! Much love to you!
  • Well, I just made an appointment with Curves for Monday 26th. If you go to Curves, please let me know if this is a good thing. How are you doing on your workouts? Is it working for you?

I used to do Curves a couple of years ago and lost just about the same amount of weight I have now, but in 4 months as opposed to 2...of course, I wasn't watching what I was eating either. I didn't get any further because, honestly, I got bored. I did enjoy it for the first 2 months though, so it might be a really good starting point for you, and you may like it enough to keep it going...good luck!

hhmmm well I've got the swimming and walking done but I am just not convinced that I am going to be able to get the cycling done in the next 5 days - 10 miles a day for me is a huge amount and it would actually be four days cause Wednesday is personal training day....

Well, I was so disappointed today when I went down to the pool area at the resort and they said we don't have any exercise equipment. I can't believe it?????? I will not complete the second triathalon now as I do not have access to a bike. I did more than double the swimming and hope to finish the walk/jog this week when we go hiking, but I really wanted to finish the double bike as well.

I guess, I should not complain as I am on vacation, but I have really gotten into the healthy eating and exercise. Okay, so I still have a way to go with the healthy eating, but the exercising is working. Bye for now. Carla

Woot, woot/ I finished my ironman this weekend and I think my hallelujah happy moment occurred when I was huffing and puffing up a mountain with my dad and my breathing was so heavy that I didn't hear it. LOL He said we were going on a "medium hike" thought I was going to die. I was thinking that I would hate to see his idea of a hard hike. Then this morning at breakfast my dad said it was a little tougher that he remembered. I was soooo glad to hear that.

I just found out that my son in the Army will be home for a week next weekend. I am so excited. I don't know how he got another week already but I'll take it. We are going to run together, which means I will jog and he will be ahead of me saying come on mom you can go faster. I can't wait.

Gotta go now and do the laundry from the weekend of camping. Have a great night all.
