   SKINNY CHICS & A ROOSTER SEPTEMBER 2011 TRIATHALON
:glasses: :glasses: LADIES & GENT... THE TIME HAS COME - GET THOSE FANNIES MOVING!! :glasses: :glasses:

Alright everyone - It's September 1 and the Triathalon has officially begun! Please feel free to start doing and logging your miles - please let me know through a PM if there is something that needs corrected on the spreadsheet. Thanks to Cynthia for compiling the google docs for us to use and Sara for your assistance also!

Spreadsheet address: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al-BCfEpKScodHFMcjh2RWNsYkpUS1hoVFBTT05WRlE&hl=en_US

Please remember -- you should ONLY be documenting in the Individual Triathalon area. Do NOT document in the group areas.

GOALS:
:flowerforyou: Team Triathalon IS a competition... which team is gonna finish first?!? Trash talking is not only welcome but encouraged!
:flowerforyou: Individual Triathalons are NOT a competition... these are for improving our personal fitness, proving our endurance (yep, even to ourselves) and to support and celebrate everyone's accomplishments. We will be celebrating every level of triathalon that you "virtually" complete!
:flowerforyou: PLEASE weigh-in today - and document it on your "food" notes, or the weight tracker. We will track what each of us have released through the month doing this challenge!
:flowerforyou: PLEASE measure today - and document them in your measurements tracker. We will track how many inches were tightened and toned this month doing this challenge! I'd like to see that we all do neck, bust/chest, waist, hips. I know arms and thighs may be difficult... so we do need to agree which measurements we all will use to truly track the difference evenly for everyone!
:flowerforyou: HAVE FUN!! PUSH YOURSELF... PUSH YOUR TEAMMATES... LAUGH AND CELEBRATE!!

Please do NOT add yourself to the spreadsheet or change anything on it... If your name is not on the spreadsheet and you believe it should be - please PM me and I will get back to you.

I had 20 people completely register for this and 1 person I was waiting to answer a question or two. So we have 20 or 21 people that will be doing this.

ALSO -- While this is a fun thread to be a part of... remember that this is "just" the exercise/challenge portion of our supportive and not-so-little-anymore group! We are still hoping to see people posting about their days, lives, ups and downs in the 100+ to Lose Thread. So, no neglecting that thread... LOL.

    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for team support and cheering on but I have to say that is one ugly wombat. So let that be a reminder to all of you other teams, that's its going to get ugly for you because we are gonna kick your booties!!!
  • Wahoo! Go Tri-ing to lose! These triceratops are going to stomp all over you!

YESSS!!! I am so excited for this. I have to agree that our wombat looks like she is ready to kick some serious butt. I absolutely love the henpecked rooster! Cynthia you are a genius. Guess what I found happening in my neck of the woods this weekend. No kidding there is an olympic distance triathalon happening this weekend. I am going to see if it is too late to sign up which means I may get my whole personal goal for the month done in one day.

A quick 4 miles done for the Honey Badgers Running. Loving this weather up here now that Hurricane Irene is gone.

Good luck all you other 'cute litte teams'.

Eh. I did 4 miles before 8am this morning AND THEN KEPT GOING! Go STITCH WITCHES !!!!!!!

I did manage to run for 30 minutes straight for the first time ever this morning. And so I made it to my "measuring lamppost" a good 5 minutes faster than usual, so that was exciting. It was a beautiful, stunning, morning and running down by the river was so much fun. I even saw someone out there rowing (crewing?) and it was so cool. The last week at the gym I had really missed my route and waving and saying hi to the other runners in the morning. It was really good to be back!

evening all. hope everyone's had a good day. I'm still nursing a dodgy leg, but managed a bit of each of the events this evening for my individual. Feeling pretty good, actually! :-)

I am so impressed with the spread sheet. Thanks for all the work put into it. I had a great start on my Triathalon today, let's see if I can keep it going. Did more swimming than I anticipated, so that should help the Tri-ceratops kick some butt. Go team!1

Lucky! I planned to get out tonight after dinner and the rain is coming down in buckets now! We are also watching for a storm forming in the Gulf of Mexico, gotta love living in Florida and the crappy summer weather!

You guys are hilarious!!!! I am reading and truly smiling and laughing at all of us! I needed a good smile and laugh! Plus, I am laughing because a lot of you think you can hang with the Honey Badgers....and you CANT!

Just got back from the gym, and got a little over 13 miles done on the bike! That is pretty good considering I didn't figure out how the increased level will increase your miles per hour until being over half way done. So tomorrow...you all better be ready

Becky, did I understand the spreadsheet right that all I have to do is enter my info into the area with my name? Not in the team area? Just want to make sure. Also, the spreadsheet is great!
  • I got so caught up in the trash talk I totally forgot to say THANK YOU for the amazing spreadsheet! It is awesome and I love that it was done while sitting on an exercise ball, seems appropriate!

PS: I dont know what you all are thinking that you can beat us, there is just no way. Gooooooo Stitch Witches!

I love this... I absolutely freaking love this! The trash talking is great... but please remember that we are also going to be cheering and encouraging each other for the Individual Triathalons. I have to admit though... I wasn't too worried about getting in my swim miles immediately because it would take a few days for the biking and running but WOWZERS people are kicking some serious booty!

I did 8 miles on the dang bike tonight... 114 miles seems CRAZY!! I figure that it's gonna take me a minimum of 6 miles per day - so that for the days I miss, I am still covered. BUT HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING SO MANY MILES?!?! :noway: I am convinced biking in the real world is much easier than at the gym... you can't coast at all in the gym... But how do you get in so many miles?!? Seriously... I am looking for honest feedback and input here!

I also jogged 3 miles - jogged almost the entire way. Did it on the elliptical but still! I did it in just over 45 minutes, I think it was 45:21. I am proud of that. I am!! :blushing:

So... did everyone weigh in and measure?!? I went out and even bought a tape measure this evening because I wasn't sure that I could find mine at home. Remember, we want to see what winners we all are by looking at the numbers... besides, then everyone can feel like a winner, because only the Honey Badgers will be the REAL winners!

AACCKKK Fingers crossed pinched whatever it is in my shoulder goes away so that I can start swimming!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Wow! I can't believe all of the miles logged for day 1!

I am feeling under the weather so I might not be able to start my tri's for a few days. I would rather rest and get healthy again before starting so I don't end up any worse. I took some vitamin C this morning and had a hearty breakfast so hopefully that will give me a good boost for work today.

Becky: I bring a book and read while riding. It makes the hour go by fairly quickly. It also helps me ignore my butt's cries for relief. I actually just measured either Tue or Wednesday morning and then took two "rest" days off, so I'm going to stick with those numbers.

Bonnie: Wow!!! I can see that you are going to be one I need to keep up with for this challenge. I may just need to split my riding up in order to increase the length of time and miles. Maybe ride 45, walk 15, ride 30-45. I don't know...my behind is always screaming at me.

The spread sheet really is great. Thanks for putting so much effort in it. I got off to a slow starts because of the pain in my calfs. But it's getting better. I'm ready to really start today. GOOD LUCK TEAMS

Slow start here as well - the exercise bike won't be in the house until Saturday. But I'm going to get some walking for my individual in today! I'll be taking my measurements when I get home tonight as well (thought I had a tape measure, but if I do it's well hidden somewhere in the house!).
