Great job everyone. I did nothing but my curves yesterday because I was too excited to go out and play with my new kayak and today I have got to get my house clean. I did get ina run this morning because I got to curves before they opened. It wasn't far only .8 miles but get this I did it in 6-1/2 minutes. I am going to log it now.

I don't really do the measurement thing. I think that's more of a chick thing than a rooster thing, but I'm pretty sure we have a tape measure and assuming it can reach all the way around my fat *kitten* I'll give it a go. I think I saw somewhere on MFP that you can enter your measurments...probably where you enter your weight I guess.

I don't think I will be doing much in the way of trash talking as I am clearly the tortoise amongst a bunch of hyper competitive bunnies! What I hope you will see is some steady and consistant, daily entries however small they may be. I'll get there, it's just gonna take a while.

Greg you crack me up.. I laughed so hard... I don't have a tape measure that reaches around my fat *kitten* so I use a piece of string, and then I have to double it over and then again :) LOL and then the tape measure reaches and I do the math to see what the length really is ;) So that's what I do to get my numbers. The worst part is, the measuring tape I have is, one of those retractable ones, so just as I get it pulled out to the edge of the string usually it *snaps* back into the case and bites my fingers in the process and I drop the string and I have to start all over. hahaha so you know how many expletives come out of my mouth then!! ;)

    So I did my measurements!
Last time measured on the 22nd of August!
Neck now 15.5 inches, down half an inch.
Waist now 53.0 inches, down 1.5 inches.
Hips now 66.0 inches, down 1 inch.
Chest below the "girls" 45.5 inches.
Left thigh 35 inches. (holy ****).
Right thigh 33 inches (what the hell?). (left calf is fatter too, that's messed up.left boob. god has a weird sense of humor. no wonder i sprained my left ****ing ankle, I've been leaning over to the ****ing left all my ****ing life.)

    Yay!

Okay couple of things for those of you suffering in silence for this challenge, I don't know if you followed in the other main thread but there are things you can purchase to alleviate the pains you're suffering ;)

Number one is a removable gel bike seat seat pad for bike seats, if you don't own the bike, and are using a gym bike you could carry it with you to use in the gym and then take it with you when you leave :) they're about $40 and you can get them at most bike shops.

Number 2 : Neoprene compression shin pads. They help with calf pain and shin splints for runners and in the biking. Neoprene you can also wear in water, it's the same thing divers wear in their dive suits. This company makes them and this is what they look like (http://www.mcdavidusa.com/assets/items/regular/441R.jpg) but you can get them from anywhere and most sporting goods stores carry them.

So finally I got some good weight off this morning I think it was that good bowel movement I took this morning, Hahahah or it could be that massive swim I did yesterday. HAHAHAHAHA SUCKERS! ;) Just teasing you guys ;) But seriously ;) I will float my way to fitness this month! THPPPPPTTTT. Good thing I live in the damn desert.

Hope you all have a great day, it's friday, share your fitness with a friend today people, I choose to share it all with you! Get out there and shake yer tail feathers, Squawk! ;)

***Edit**** Oh and I'm really glad you all like the spreadsheet. Many hours spent swearing over getting it to look pretty. :):)-- Cynthia

Another great day! Today I upped the level on the bike, and I was able to get a little over 16 miles done in the same time...almost 4 extra miles. Plus, it felt like I was actually sweating some. I am sleepy, but I am still feeling good. I did have some pizza tonight, but I ordered a thin crust veggie with 'easy' cheese. It was so yummy and it was much better than anything else I might have eaten.

I am planning to get to the gym everyday this weekend too. I think I am going to finish up the damn bike before I do anything else! If I start doing other things, I might not get back on it!

Hope you all have a great day. And I hope you all enjoy a very restful weekend with NO exercise! (except for you becky and renae...you better be at the gym all day! )

    Nighty Nite!

On another note...Another 20 miles done, ladies and gents! 36 miles completed already!!!!! I told you that these TRIceratops are going to tear it up

Congrats to all of you that are "tearing it up!" I managed to get another thirtieth of all three activities in. I came home from the gym and promptly collapsed in the chair. More exercise than I've ever had, but actually am enjoying it.

My body was sluggish and tired tonight... did 9 bike mile and left it at that. Proceeded to (Cynthia close your eyes - don't read the following two lines... no, really, close your eyes! I said... CLOSE THEM!!) have some pizza for dinner and 2 "hard cherry colas" but with diet pepsi! Still below my calories and not at all what I would typically eat or even look at. But I enjoyed it and feel OK.

Bad... err, umm... Interesting mail was received. Proceeded to sob cry... not just cry but sob... Thought - gee, this should be burning some calories! Then, as I read Cynthia's post, laughed actually out loud, and hard. That belly laugh kind of laugh. Thought - gee, this is burning some calories! Figure that was Cynthia's way of making sure that I burned off some of those calories from the spicy chicken pesto flatbread pizza... The alcohol... well, I figure that was God's way of looking out for me knowing what was in my mailbox.

Stress from the card means that I have some extra stress to burn off... so I'll be hitting the gym earlier tomorrow. One of my friends is going with me... she helps distract me from my sore fanny while I am on the bike so... that's a good thing. Can you tell that the thing I am most concerned about is the bike? Oh, and to all you other swimmers... I won't be able to swim this weekend, at all, so feel free to take your time. I mean your bikers and runners are gonna need many days to get their numbers... we can too, right?!?

On a serious, sad note... my gym is closing on Sept 22! I am freaking out, especially b/c I am going to be out of town 18-21 of September... so I gotta get these miles in quickly - especially the bike. I can walk on my own, but I don't have a bike that will support me, or with tires that I won't pop! So... my focus will be much on the bike. Really?!? Sept 22?!? Oh, by the way... NOT for good like my pool earlier this summer! But into October to finish a remodel and expansion. It's like a freaking maze right now b/c they are already started on the construction. Making "privacy pods" but it seems like that is taking up all the space that they have - and the expansion isn't that much... Will open up a 3rd pool, which will be a therapy pool with a lazy river around it. It'll be good but I am not happy about the closure (and no credit $$ for that time that it's closed!).

Oooh Meer ;) That's okay, wait till you have to explain what a Merkin is to them ;)

Glad to hear you're feeling better Steph! ;)

And btw, as I added Stephanies data into the team charts... the UNOFFICIAL! DAY 3!! (Because she's half day ahead of us) is that the STITCH WITCHES have finished the first leg of competition and are IN THE LEAD! there is a 3 way tie for second and sadly, because his teammates are too busy letting him do all the work, poor Henpecked Rooster is falling behind.

But Greg you are loggin some serious milage and I am personally VERY VERY PROUD OF YOUR PERSONAL EFFORT!!!!! And I must say that you were so worried about how much you were going to gain at camp and look how much you lost ;) This will show in how much you'll lose after this month too can't wait ;)

Keep on truckin' ladies (and Gentleman) ;) WOOT WOOOT!

I did 8 miles on the dang bike tonight... 114 miles seems CRAZY!! I figure that it's gonna take me a minimum of 6 miles per day - so that for the days I miss, I am still covered. BUT HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING SO MANY MILES?!?! :noway: I am convinced biking in the real world is much easier than at the gym... you can't coast at all in the gym... But how do you get in so many miles?!? Seriously... I am looking for honest feedback and input here!

I also jogged 3 miles - jogged almost the entire way. Did it on the elliptical but still! I did it in just over 45 minutes, I think it was 45:21. I am proud of that. I am!! :blushing:

So... did everyone weigh in and measure?!? I went out and even bought a tape measure this evening because I wasn't sure that I could find mine at home. Remember, we want to see what winners we all are by looking at the numbers... besides, then everyone can feel like a winner, because only the Honey Badgers will be the REAL winners!

    Hey Becky,
I also ride a stationary bike and I really work up a sweat doing it. I have vowed to do at least 8 miles a day to get this challenge done before I go no vacation. The walking (I do not jog or run) will also take a while as I only do 2 miles a day. The swimming is a piece of cake (.75 miles a day) and will be finished in a couple of days. I may do more walking or biking once I am finished that part. I am not sure about the Honey Badgers winning this challenge. Once Sara gets back on her feet, the Tri-ceratops will go on a rampage. Yes, I weighed and measured myself (I had not doen the measuring before) and it was heartbreaking. My thighs are bigger than many people's waists. I can't wait to measure at the end of the month now to see how many inches I lose. Keep at it everyone and go Tri-ceratops. Carla

Jane - look at the end, all the way to your right on the spreadsheet and it will tell you "DONE" everytime you finish a level of triathalon! It's pretty genius I have to say... even if she is a Wombat!

It is pretty genius. I'm very impressed with the spreadsheet. :-) Unfortunately though, the bike miles don't seem to have carried for me into the sprint column - it shows as a zero. They have carried into all the other levels though.

This made me laugh out loud this morning. Take a picture Steph!

    GO STITCH WITCHES!!!!

I got in 8+ miles this morning. It was so pretty out that I just kept going and going. I watched the sun come up over the river and a beautiful day be born. Just loved it!

I actually PM'ed with Cynthia this morning... there are some problems with the formulas for those rows... we are going to get that fixed. It actually says "DONE" further than it's supposed to right now. But we are working on it!

  • JJ......After 3 times it came up. Thank you

Now all I need to do is have Becky put me in. Going to go work on my miles and leave a wall message for Becky.

    see you soon

Okay my darlings ... There's actually nothing wrong with Jane's line I've checked it :) the problem is, My darling Jane. You've managed to nail the bugger dead on the head!

The formula is set to trigger if you go over the milage by any smidge. but since you've nailed it directly dead on and it's sitting at 0. It's sat at 0. if you had gone over by .000000000000001. It would flash DONE!. So sorry my darling. Now I would fudge it, and have it flash for you, but that would be adulterating the records, and that wouldn't be cricket you know!

So for the future. If anyone wants to make sure your DONE! flashes, over shoot your distance even by .1 of a mile, or .05 of a mile any little bit over will trigger that DONE marker. :) Sorry for all the conflabergation.

    So my little motivation bunnies....

For team right now... The HONEY BADGERS are pouring on the steam and the STITCH WITCHES seem to be trying to poke their little eyes out with their knitting needles quickly on the BADGER flanks the TRI-CERA-TOPS are charging from behind sitting and having a snack the WOMBATS and the ROOSTERS seem to be enjoying the race from the starting lines.

However, INDIVIDUAL MERITS go to CARLA!!!! already completed the HALF IRONMAN!!! way to go momma!!!! you've got that medal in the bag baby! It's now, HOW MANY Ironman levels will you complete?

For Biking the BAD *kitten* TO THE BONE award for power biking goes to Bobbie... Go mommacita go!!! You're going to earn yourself the Buns of Steel award before the month is through!!! And probably not be able to sit for another month! Very very close though is Bonnie, gonna be a close race this month you two! ;)

And Running/Walking down the path is JJ... Honey... where's the fire??? You got all month? Already at 20.4 miles... and with Jane very close behind at 16.91 it's gonna be a close one ;)

And single handedly eliminating all competition (from his teammates that is ;) is our beloved Rooster GREG pounding that pavement for 8.43 miles!!! Way to go Mr. Man!!! keep kickin them Keds! Already done with the Olympic!!! WOOHOO!! ;)

Which is more than I can say for me, your sorry announcer who is down with a bacterial infection and out of the pool... Chained her at the microphone till Wednesday... So... for now... I'm your announcer, Wombat Pardo saying... Goodnight and goooood excercising!
  • I just checked the spreadsheet and everyone is doing an amazing job.

I feel so far behind for my team because I started the month off on a bad foot. Damn Cold! I did leave work early yesterday and am feeling much better today. I am hoping that by tomorrow morning when I get up I will be back to my good ol' self and will be able to log some miles for my portion of our tri!
  • WOW  I am so sore I took a ride on my bike for the first time in about 2 years and wow how out of shape. I rode for 20 minutes and only got 0.138 not even close to a mile. At this rate it will take me all month to reach a mile.

So, I'm not sure about this triathalon challenge.

Well, I'm going to go do something I know I can do WALK.

    see you later

(sigh) :-/ I'm having such a terrible time starting this challenge. First I hurt both my calfs. They have now stopped hurting enough to really start my Iron Man. But now it decides to rain. We need the rain, we need lots of it. Yet it's raining, quite literally, on my parade. Can not swim, walk or bike when it's raining. I can use a stainary bike Or Tread Mill at the gym, but I hate those. They bore me to death. Oh well, I guess I will just have to catch up when when the weather let's up.

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!!
