My son makes me smile when he gets so excited about being in college. He's so much like me in that he's always had to struggle and has had to deal with issues of low self esteem. My daughter on the other had is just the opposite. She's always had very high self esteem and is so intelligent and such a go getter. She's been very successful when it comes to education and careers. My son is 25 and just now in college studying something he really has a passion for (art). When he gets excited about finally understanding a new assignment, he's like a little kid at Christmas. I just love it! :happy:

Hi betty. . .Yes that is the great thing about our kids is that they are special and unique. . But just to have your kids go to college is wonderful. So many these days don't do anything to further their education. Me I didn't go to college full-time till I was 29, but I got there. . I still have to finish the remainder of my degree due to this thing called work. . lol But now I am in school to be a trainer. . so it's all good.

I can certainly understand about getting excited when you finally understand something new though as when I was in HS I really did average at math and really didn't care for it, but when in college and taking algebra. . I was just fascinated by it and really loved it when I could figure out the equations and how they function and work. . Kind of like puzzles. .

We just finished a rousing game of Spouseology with three other couples. We didn't win, but it was fun.

Okay. . I am way grinning today. . total fat tooth day. . . cheese enchilada plate, chocolate chip cheese cake, and wine. . got to spend time with my brother, his wife and my nephews. .. Gave my bro and his wife their birthday presents. . She loved her necklace I made. . so all was fabulous.

Today is my fiancee's bday! I am happy and smiling because even though *I* couldnt get today off, he did and that is hard to pull off so I am glad he is at home relaxing

Yesterday when my daughter came over to clean my carpets she brought my grandson with her. On one point he asked his Uncle Steve how old he was and Steve told him he was 25. Then Grandson said, I know how old Grandma is. Steve said, "How old is Grandma?" Grandson said, 'Grandma is 50 years old." :happy: God bless his little heart! I told him he was now my favorite grandson. :laugh: :laugh: I didn't tell him Grandma was actually 57. :bigsmile:

What a fantastic thread, I've loved reading through this! I especially loved the poem about being 5 years old on the first page, that really made me feel happy! And there are so many uplifiting quotes here, very inspirational.

I live in Bath in England which is a world heritage site. It is such a beautiful and stunning city that I feel really happy every day to be living here. The other morning I stepped outside at 7:30am to leave for work, the sun was just rising and I was greeted with these two lovely views! I love this time of year when there is a slight chill in the mornings and the sky does just amazing things (I think ultimately nature makes me really happy). Here are the photos I took (I'll come back and post more whenever I see a lovely sunrise):




Also on Saturday my mum and I drove from London to Portsmouth to visit my brother at uni. It was such a sunny day and when we were on the motorway there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the blue was punctuated with airplane trails, it was beautiful I couldn't stop staring at it! I'd also woken to a similar view from the bedroom in my mum's house except there was a lovely orangey purple on the horizon as the sun was rising. Gorgeous.

Things that made me smile this morning:
~ While I was taking a shower this morning and washing my legs, I realized they look skinnier. :happy:
~ When I got out of the shower and looked at myself in the mirror I could see the big difference when I sucked in my stomach. :happy:
~ While walking to work this morning I thought how proud of me my late boyfriend would be because I'm using my glider for exercising instead of for a "coat rack". :happy:

Gosh ya. . I remember when I used to have pets that slept with me. . so precious. I had a cocker for nearly 13 years that always slept on my feet or right next to the bed.

My cat always sleeps on my feet or on my legs at night. One night when I went to bed he didn't come in the room with me. He sat out in the hall and wouldn't come even when I called him for some reason. I tried telling him that I can't go to sleep unless he's lying on my feet but he just sat there. :laugh: He finally came in though. I don't know what the deal was that night because he's usually already on the bed or gets on it when I go to bed. :huh: I don't know what I would do if something happened to him. I'd never get to sleep. :laugh:
