I have did my ab workout everyday so far. I have to admit this is alot harder than eating my fruits and veggies. At least that was fun! However, this is definitely working because I am sore.

Well, Zumba is going to have to count as my ab work yesterday because I didn't get back to it. DD and I sat down and started watching some Doctor Who and I ended up HAVING to watch another episode because it left in such a cliffhanger ... plus it was scary and I had to get it resolved so I could go to sleep!

I'll be gone all day today and tomorrow ... so just checking in. I'll be praying for everybody and job issues, etc., ... these are tough times indeed!

Do new challenges start on Monday?? Hmm ... I'll have to go back and look.

    Have a great day everybody!

    Tresa

Hmm ... looks like this one started on Wednesday. I'll plan on that ... I've got it covered next time! Somebody set me straight if it needs to start on Monday ...

I miss my Zumba tapes:sad: When our tape player broke we never replaced it, and I had Zumba on tapes. I guess I should get the DVD's.

I'm gearing up for my AbJam Turbo Jam dvd right now. The boys will be in bed for naps in about 15 min. & I'm plotting my assault. 20 min. of relentless ab focused murder. I mean...LOTS of fun. Really. Lots.

Tresa - Yep! Wed. is weigh-in & we switch challenges then!
  • Got my abs in last night, 50 crunches. Today I plan to do better though. 30 Day Shred lvl 1 & something else fun for abs (haven't decided yet)

Hope everyone is doing well! :drinker:

I'm ready for the weekend, totally. Got alot of homework to do this weekend, but other than that I'm just going to relax, not drink! and stay focused on my goals since the weekends are usually the worst for me and I want a REALLY big weigh in next week!!!

I just can't wait to be under 200 again. I want it so bad I can taste it! Or to be back in the 170's... I want it SO bad!!!

Anywho, everyone have a great day and we'll talk to ya later!

I only got 45 crunches in today. There was this weird thing going on with my neck and it just hurt too much to continue.

I am getting stronger!!!!! When I first had my son push my legs down, it was so easy for him, it was sad! Tonight it was harder and he thought it would be easy so when he pushed a little, nothing happened, he pushed again and still nothing happened. Then he pushed hard and my legs gave out and he came tumbling forward and landed next to me. We were both laughing so hard.

I have been doing sit-ups, planks, and the one I just described above.

The problem with this "lovely" challenge is now my stomach is just hanging. It is a patheic blob of flat that is no longer big and round but just disgusting. I am assuming this is because I am building muscle but UGH!

Yay, Amanda! I can relate to the belly thing. I'm nearing my goal weight & my stomach will never look the same thanks to multiple pregnancies. Droopy. Blah.

I just did some crunches last night. Nothing too strenuous. I'm doing the 20 min. AbJam shortly. Woo hoo! :grumble:

Here's a silly little mini challenge.

Challenge yourself to walk around all day holding in your tummy. Keep it always on the back of your mind. Don't hold your breath and suck it in and be uncomfortable and look funny, just think about keeping those muscles pulled in and your core strong and tight, your back nice and straight holding a good posture.

C'mon, Put all your hard work this week to the test!!!!

Okay, I skipped the abs last night, cause mine are so sore I can barely get out of bed.

Two nights a go I did the shoving leg exercise till I couldn't lift my legs back up, then rested, then did plank till I couldn't hold it any longer (I stick a magazine between my arms and read while holding it), then rested then I repeated both exercises. Tonight I'm going to try a light ab work out on the exercise ball.

Good for you, Anna! I love the visual of you reading a magazine in plank position. LOL Was it at least an interesting magazine?

I was reading a Fitness magazine, not sure what issue, but it had an article about the importance of vitamin D. You know we could all use more of it in the winter months. During the summer we get it from the sun (or our body produces it when we are in the sun), but in the winter we don't get enough direct sun light to do much good. A lack of Vit D can cause depression, moodiness, and make you not absorb calcium as well, and cause a weakened immune system.

In the back of my mind I consentrate on holding good form, but reading helps me keep my mind off the pain. I read an other article while doing squats, but I did them standing in front of my bed and lowering my butt too the bed, just in case I would lose my balance and fall. I'm always thinking.

Oh Anna, that is a great idea, I love to read and hate the plank, combine the two and it might work!

I don't know what just came over me. I did 20 min. of AbJam (did I say how much I enjoy that? oh, I didn't? that's b/c I HATE THAT ONE!), then I did 30 min. of Fat Blaster...THEN I decided that since everyone was still asleep, I'd do Turbo Sculpt...40 min.! WOo! I got 90 min. in already. Plus, I'm doing the 20 min. with the hubby tonight & the pushup challenge...if my arms stop feeling like jello any time soon. Phew!

Anna - that's a great idea about reading the magazine while holding plank. That way you aren't focusing on "Oooowwwww!"

I think my arms would be shaking too much for me to be able to focus on the words! That's hard enough these days anyway... But I might try it anyway ... not that I'm able to be there long enough to get bored yet!

okay-- is it safe to come out yet? Week 2 challenge is officially over-- thank you all for your cheerful compliance.

Personally, I only missed one night due to extreme fatigue-- all in all, not a bad week. I did three sets of different crunches last night-- 30,40 and 40-- while I was doing the push up challenge.

Come on black-- heading to week three!!!!!!!!
