What size is too big for a bikini?

It's not the size that counts, but the proportions. This woman is huge but still looks good in a bikini:

If you want to wear a bikini, then wear a bikini. If you don't want to, then don't.0

Wear what you want to, when you want to as you want to. If you feel good, who cares what the body fascists think?
I'm not sure whether the comments about size or about age irritate me more on this thread.
^What she said. Some people who are bigger are confident in bikinis, and some people who are smaller, don't feel comfortable. Wear whatever you want. Who cares what other people think, as long as you feel good.0 -
In your opinion.... Guys and girls please answer.
There is none, as long as the person feels comfortable... I would personally say age...
No one over 35... LOL Then again that is just me... xx
35 is the cut-off? :noway: I've seen many 40-somethings and a few in their 50's with tighter, hotter bodies than most women in their 20's.
I was supposed to stop at 35? Oh well.....I seldom do what I'm supposed to do anyway....0 -

Seriously? This is the first time in my life I have actually felt good in a bikini :blushing: ETA and Shelly looks super hot!0 -
Yes, I agree that it's all about proportionality. There are many plus sized models that would look good in a bikini, like Chloe Marshall, a 16. See picture... http://www.stylebistro.com/The+Most+Beautiful+Plus+Size+Models/articles/bHWDKG0DOXI/Chloe+Marshall0

As long as the persons comfortable, I don't see a problem.
If they're not something I wanna be looking at, I won't.

Last time I rocked a bikini, I was 215 lbs, wearing a size 14.
I was hot. At that time I walked 10 miles every day so I had the best looking legs and butt on the planet.
Now I'm 240 and a 16...I don't look so good anymore. But, one day!0 -

Yep, any age or size. Of course I find fit bodies (of any age) more ascetically pleasing but if someone is happy in their bikini it's none of my business and I don't think more or less of them either way.0 -
I think that would be too many answers...depends height, muscles, confidence level, etc. Goodness knows you won't see me in one but I have seen bigger girls that look great and smaller girls that don't...so much of it is confidence
this. also, what mavd said0 -
What ever age... what ever size.. whatever weight...
I dont wear my swimwear for you... I wear it for me..
If you wanna wear a bikini go nuts. Its your life. your body. So so sooooo tired of the body bashing we do in society at the moment..0 -
you fail on both accounts0
-
I sometimes wish people would consider what age they should stop wearing bikinis, rather what size.
You fail on both accounts0 -
I failed on the previous account, but not both0

well....ive seen pregnant women with bikinis on but i agree with it depending on how they are proportioned..i couldnt put a size to it
My boss wears bikinis when she's pregnant because she said it's really difficult/expensive to find maternity swimsuits, and generally if the swimsuit fits over the baby bump, it doesn't fit anywhere else.0 -

Yes! It's just like with pot-bellied men who go shirtless.0 -
Bigger than you think, because you can adjust the bikini to wear you want or need it.0
-
If your body swallows the bikini- it is too tight or you need a bigger size.
No one is "too big" but........and I mean BUT......when in doubt- don't go out.0 -
One of my friends told me -"If you ever feel bad about your body go to the beach - somebody there will be worse off than you" ... I actually go to the beach with my husband and I am wearing the head to toe coverup to avoid too much sun exposure. I am very fair skinned with green/blue eyes. I am sure people make fun of me and I don't care. I am not ever getting sunburned again.
Seriously, depending on which beach, there will be women sunning topless and you just have to get over it and get comfortable in your own skin! Wear a bikini if you want to. It really isn't a fashion show at the beach. Its about enjoying the beach. Trust me, I enjoy sitting under the umbrella reading books on my iPad just as much as the Grandmother surfing the waves in her bikini.
BTW, the more exposed skin you have, the more sun block you need, just a public service announcement.0 -
If you are comfortable wear it and don't give a crap what anyone else thinks
I live by the beach, there are no rules lol!!!0 -
I'm 7 months shy of 60 and I haven't looked this good since I was in my 20s. At 5'2" and 122 pounds I rocked my new Italian bikini on the Amalfi Coast this summer (and recently at the Jersey Shore).
If you don't want to wear a bikini after age 35 be my guest but as for me, I'll wear one as long as it pleases me and my gorgeous hubby!0 -
It really depends on the muscle tone. But unfortunately some people are very unrealistic too. ????0

I envy anybody that has the balls to wear a two piece. As long as theirs aren't hanging out of it... :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway:0 -

Also +1 to the sentiment0 -
Depends on muscle tone. If u have a toned tummy thighs and other areas. Any size.0

Seriously: Find a bikini that fits! The only one-pieces I feel comfortable in are the sporty type I wear when swimming. To the beach I will wear a two piece, even though I have a belly. I'm just built in a way that is not very compatible with fashionable one-pieces, they dig in where I am the squishiest and are cut terribly for my shape. Two-pieces fit me so much better. Just find one that is not just a tiny bit of fabric and go for it!
Then again, I'm from Europe, so... But as long as the bikini is of the same proportions as you are, rock it! Or whatever else you are comfortable in. I would however not advice anyone, of any size, to wear a bikini unless a) sunbathing b) on the beach c) by the swimming pool.0 -
