I am down 3 pounds!!!! :drinker:
  • Yeah!!!
  • Oh I forgot to see if anyone wanted to do a challenge this week....
I say we start out small especially since we have alot of newbies that might get discouraged if they can't keep up..yet and I mean YET because you WILL.

Challenge : 5 extra minutes of cardio every time you work out. I know it doesn't sound like much, but if you add it all up it will. If you normally work out 5 times a week that will be an extra 25 minutes ......think of all the calories burned!!!!!!

I wasn't trying to lose you, I was sending messages to everyone to let them know about the new thread, and you can only send 5 messages every 10 minutes. Since you already posted your weight, you were towards the bottom of the list. Sorry:embarassed: We would never try to lose our only Mister Sister:wink:

I'm going to let this one slide.......hey what kind of cardio are you gals doing? Anyone do Yoga on a regular basis?
  • I'm going to let this one slide.......hey what kind of cardio are you gals doing? Anyone do Yoga on a regular basis?
I'm way to impatient for yoga. I gotta put on some serious jams and kick myself in the butt to get going and stay that way. Maybe it's undiagnosed ADD who knows? Cardio? Umm, I do a mix of a bunch of things. Some I've done in classes, some on TV workouts, some suggestions from the hubby (he was in special forces in Navy, so he knows how to make ya feel the burn). Anything to get me sweating and outta breath. (haha no the hubby has nothing to do with it:blushing: ) So maybe I'm not a good one to ask about a specific cardio work out.:ohwell:
  • Yeah Livi_Loves_Pink lost 2 pounds on Sunday:bigsmile:

The reason I asked is that one of the workouts I do for the P90X is an hour and 1/2 of yoga!!! Not, I haven't made it any further than about 40 mins yet! I'm like you, I don't have the paitence. To me though it's not much of a cardio workout. When I put in my excerise on here it only gave me like 120 calories burned for 30 mins! I really need to get a heart rate monitor so I can see exactly how much it does!

I've lost 7 pounds this week... Posted it on the old thread already. I tried the P90x Cardiox workout on Sunday, because I saw that the yoga workout was 90 minutes. It looks scary!!!

First off didnt realize new thread was started so i copied and pasted what i wrote

I weighed in and low and behold another 2 pounds gone from my body hopefully forever. :drinker: Of course for a moment i was a tad discouraged why only 2 i did my excercise i ate right? and i know on the biggest loser week 2 is the bad week (although bad for them is 5 pounds right lol ) although i got to say right now 2 doesnt seem so bad :smooched: that is two pounds off of me, 2 pounds i care never to see again. it could have been one it could have been none but it was 2  So i embrace my 2 pounds lost this week :flowerforyou: I embrace my 4 pounds lost so far  and i know that slow and steady wins the race so i am the tortois i embrace being the tortois because if i dont then i will give up and i refuse to give up this time

Be the tortois embracing the two pounds from this week and the 4 from the total 14 days so far but its the motivation and support that gets me through this that gives me this attitude so thank you all :flowerforyou:

I do at least 30 minutes on the treadmill at 3.5 and i burn at least 329 calories doing it if that helps once the weather is nice i plan on also going bike riding outside (it burns A LOT of calories) yoga is good i tried it long time ago and felt it but i get wanting to burn more calories and working up a sweat.

Yea I can't wait until Summer gets here! I bought an awesome new Diamondback Mountain bike last summer and I got on 10-15 mile rides on it about twice a week. Most is on trails so you are constantly peddling. That's a heck of a workout! I'm getting excited thinking about it! My two old roomates are going to start joining me so I'm hoping that together we might get a couple of 20 mile rides in this summer! Down in alabama a 4 hour ride in 100 degree weather is no joke!
  • Yeah pepamint great attitude:bigsmile:
Holy crap MissResa, great first week numbers:bigsmile:
  • I think I'm going to just stand outside today for my workout. Between the wind howling and me trying to stay upright and the below zero temps my body might start to eat the fat off my *kitten* to survive:laugh:

My cardio consists of different workout dvd's that I can do in the home because I live in Alaska and can't really do regular workouts in the outdoors during the winter time. In the summer we go for walks, bike rides, and hikes... Alaska is beautiful!!! I also play volleyball for 4-5 hours a week, which is why I think I'm burning so many calories-MFP says around 1700 every 2 hours, if it's accurate.
  • Is it to late to join? I would love to be able to get in on this group! If not here are my stats:

    Start Weight: 168.8 (1/27/09)
    Goal Weight: 125

Do you need any other information? Is it to late? Thanks.

That's what's really helps me....if you can find a high intensity activity that you like to do then you don't think about it as "working out" it's just fun! I guess In Alaska you could run sprints from the wood pile to the fire place.....just get one log at a time so you have to make more trips!

The summer time makes up for the horrible winter here. We literally get around 23 hours of "sunlight" during the summer, so we make up for being cooped up as much as we can.
