February "No more late night snacks challenge"

I suck at this challenge. :grumble: Last night, I was doing so good. Went to bed at 10.
Then I couldn't sleep. So I ended up watching Dateline Hard Crime or something like that, and I ended up hungry, and I ended up munching at like midnight. I didn't go to sleep until after 1.
I'll try again tonight.0 -
I'm here Day 2 down for me too. Hope everyone has a great day. Today is a new day 1Corinthians13 - you can do it. I was up in the middle of the night as well, not able to sleep. Wonder what's up with that :noway:

Well I got to day 11 and went away for the weekend to visit family. I did great friday night and tore up some lemonade cake on Saturday at 10:30pm while I was helping clean up. I totally take full responsibility, and am starting back at day 1. Disapointed, but hopeful.:happy:0
-
Well I made it through 6 days. I am now back to day one. My goal is to beat my old record of 6 days.
kerimcdonald-Way to go on 11 days. Thats AWSOME
Grammymax-Great Job!! Keep up the good work
1Corinthians13-Remember today's a new day. We can do day one together
zaza54-I'm glad to hear the scale is moving the right way again.0 -
1Corinthians13, I feel your pain. I thought last night would be my Day 3, but no. I fell asleep on the sofa and then had to have some chocolate cake, boursin cheese with breadsticks and an orange. Needless to say, I'm back to Day 1 today. :grumble:
Some of you have had impressive runs for February. Who has the longest stretch right now for Feb.? Wanda was our Jan. winner and Feb. will be wrapping up soon. Is there anyone now with more than 5 days in a row?
Never fear if you've blown this month, I will start a new thread for March. I have to get this right. I see such a big difference in my ticker when I stick with this. Conversely, it goes the wrong way when I don't stick with it!
Good luck everyone.0 -
I'm right there with you. We were working on taxes until early evening so dinner was late and stress was high ... so, I also am back at Day 1:ohwell: . This time we will do this Thanks zaza for keeping this thread going. It does make a difference when we are disciplined!

I agree with grammymax thanks zaza for keeping this going. I didn't make it last night so I am at day one again.0
-
Yikes!! Hello day 1 again. My husband is out of town for the week and definitely was not watching what I was doing. Went shopping late and ended up eating dinner late. And so on so forth and I'm saying hello day 1 again. :noway:0
-
I am back! Working on my Day 3 tonight :drinker: , I hope . Gave up the idea of giving up if I'm over the calories - one damage is enough, no need to make it a disaster.0
-
Great job dewdrop! Happy to hear from you. So far, looks like you might be in the lead for Feb.
Is anyone at more than 3 days right now?
I made it through Day 1 last night. Almost didn't, but I hung in there. Tonight will be my Day 2. Even tho there's not much left to Feb., Im getting in shape for March. I want to give some of you a run for your money. We have several on this thread who had made it to double digits before falling off the wagon. I'm aiming for those double digits next month so watch out!
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Well I am back to day one again. Went to the gym late and needed some dinner when I got home.0
-
Zaza :flowerforyou: , dewpearl made it through 9 nights, I believe .0
-
I think jacqueline0821 did 13 nights0
-
My best this month was 11 nights, but then I fell off the wagon and feel like I've been being dragged behind ever since.:grumble:
Had 2 paczki's yesterday, so as punishment, I am having to do and extra 45 minutes at the gym every time I go this week!! Especially after I logged in the things and saw the real damage!! So I'm a little frustrated right now but I am so proud of everyone that's doing well. Keep it up and let's get ready for March0 -
All very impressive!! To determine a winner for February, let me know on Mar. 1 the current number of days without late night snacking as of Feb. 28. Since everyone fell off the wagon during Feb., anyone can still win the month. I think dewdrop is up to 3 nights. Does anyone have more than that right now? Tonight will be my new day 2.0
-
I'm on day 2 also. But......next month will be better :drinker:0
-
I know its late to join but i would like to do this and figure why put it off tell march. My cut off time will be 9 pm as i go to bed between 12 and 1 am. We often go out to eat after 10 so it should be interesting.0
-
Ok so my first night joining this challenge and I am already about ready to screw up, I am not going to eat instead i am posting this to promise I wont but I probubly should cuz I kinda screwed up. I am at 791 cals for today, I was gonna eat again but my tummy hurt and I went to take a bath, I spent over an hour in the hott water and now its after 9. I usally do come closer to the 1200 cals in a day though so please nobody freak out, I just dont want to bail on the first night and I really have had lots of fruits and veggies today, a little low on protine but the calories I did eat were good ones. Anyways I hope everyone else had a better night.0
-
That's the right attitude Grammymax and Destiny :flowerforyou: . However, Destiny, please make sure you eat enough. Your health is more important than some challenge.
I was sorely tempted last night, but kept reminding myself about the challenge and having to report back to you all. So , I stayed strong. Tonight wil be my Day 3.
I think March is going to be an exciting month for this group. I think we will all have found our groove by then!!0 -
Welcome Destiny!!
Well I am still trying for day one. After my workout last night I was pretty far under my calories so I had a banana and a piece of lowcal toast with peanut butter.0 -
Destiny- Welcome, and we're happy to have you. Remember that late night snacking is worst when already have fulfilled your caloric intake for the day. That's what gets me into trouble. But if you're under your calories one day, don't worry. If it becomes consistent, all of these wonderful ladies on here have great food choices and encouragement to help out. By the way, I hope your stomach is feeling better.
zaza- I too am finally back to day 3!! I really think that after you slip, the first 2 days are the hardest to overcome, so great job!! Everyone keep up the great work!
Am10484-Don't worry, like I said, I think the first couple of days are the hardest. Anything I can do to help? I'm usually up pretty late, so if you need some support, just send me a message!!0 -
Ok, obviously, I am not going to set any records in February However, those of you who have been at this for a while, I could really use some help! :frown: I work four ten hour days, usually from 12 to 10 or 11 to 9. I do drug and alcohol counseling in an outpatient clinic, so from like 5 to 9, I am with clients. So, its hard to get a snack, let alone a meal in during that time. When I get home, I am usually kind of wound up because the groups can be pretty intense. So, at times, I don't get to bed until 1 or 2 am! And, since I spend most of the day working pretty hard at being "present" with my clients, I'm kind of ready to quit the mindfulness stuff and just VEG OUT. Worst time for it. I know that one thing I must do is carve out a little time to eat something at work so I am not quite so hungry when I get home. But, I would welcome any and all suggestions!0
-
Feb is almost over im looking forward to starting over. My record was 14 days i was doing good but it takes only one day to fall off the wagon. Heres to a better month!0
-
stillkristi, what if you had a lite supper as soon as you got home? Maybe you could have your cut-off time be half an hour after you get home from work. This challenge needs to be realistic for you. The idea is not to go without dinner, but to avoid snacking all night long until you get into bed. So, do what works best for your schedule - this isn't a rigid challenge.
Zaza0 -
Stillkristi- I understand. I work crazy hours and sometimes I get home at 4 and sometimes I get home at 11pm!! It's about what works for you. I have about a 45 minute commute so I eat a protein bar on the way home, that way when I get home, I am less likely to chow all night. Also, have you tried yoga or something to help you key down after work. You have a very important and tough job, and the yoga is more about relaxing after a small dinner. Taking a couple snacks or fruit to work would probably be easier for you. A bag of grapes on your desk, or in a drawer would be much easier to munch in between helping folks, or peanut butter sandwich crackers, 100 calorie snacks, even celery or fresh green beans (raw so they don;t get mushy) , anyhting that you like that is capable of snack sizes. let me know if any of this helps you. Good luck!!!0

My issue with late night stuff is i always go overboard at night. i do good all day long but once i let my self have anything at night I just keep eating and make bad choices. Also I usally am not hungry in the evening i just eat because i am bored or we go out as something to do or my boyfriends hungry so i go with him and then eat cuz its there. i am usally good at ordering decent food but then he gets fries and I snack. Its so hard not to grab them.0
-
Thanks, you have given me some good ideas. The issue seems to be that I need a plan. As an addiction therapist, you would think I would get that! :blushing: Sheesh!0
-
Last day of the month and 3 days down. I am excited about March though cause I know where I screwed up and I am determined not to do it again. Look out ladies! I am going for a new record of at least 25!! :glasses:0
-
Good morning-
I am happy to report that I have made it through Day 4 and, hopefully, tonight will be my Day 5.
Tomorrow, we crown a winner or winners for Feb. I'd like to suggest co-winners: one for whoever finishes up Feb. with the longest unbroken stretch through tonight and a co-winner for whoever had the longest stretch anytime within the month of Feb.
Having co-winners might be more motivating and inclusive - this way everyone has incentive to go as long as possible yet it's never too late to join in or get back on the wagon if you fall off. (Basically, these are just head games to keep us all motivated and accounatble - unfortunately, I'm not offering any prizes other than our praise and admiration and :flowerforyou: )
Needless to say, I don't expect to win in either category for Feb., but I'm on a roll now so watch out in March!0 -
I'll be watching for your March thread. I would love to get in on this challenge! Actually have done well since Tuesday! Good practice for starting tomorrow, March 1st.0
