I also think "Blanket" (MJ's kid ) is an odd name

Haha that was a nickname. The kid's real name Prince Michael the Second. Because his older brother is Prince Michael (the first). Because that's MUCH more normal.

Ray Zorback (they were Arkansas fans) graduated with my ex-brother-in-law from high school. I didn't believe him until the commencement.

Had an employee named Latashawannabeaut, but we just called her Tasha.

If I had a nickel for every person who claimed to know Orangello, Lemonjello, and La-a, I'd be rich.

That's not his real name, it's his nickname.

Also, lots in here are urban legend, myths, whatever you want to call them.

My dad WANTED to name me Wanda Navada...

...luckily my mom won that argument and I am just plain ole' Ashley. :)

I work as a cake decorator and there are some STRANGE names that I have to put on cakes. Can't think of any right now, but when I do I'll post them!

For the love of God, why would anyone name a child anything that prompts someone to say "and how do you spell that???" - or say "um, uh... I'm not sure how to pronounce this" (when reading).

Why would a parent burden a child with that?

That's kinda my thought too, although I went and named my child Jett, which is going to be nice and confusing when he gets the word "jet" in spelling at school...

To this day, I have an impossible time finding ANYTHING with my name on it (you know, like personalized coffee mugs at theme parks and stuff), and my name isn't even that unique. And I would say about 90% of people I meet can't spell my name properly either. It's annoying. I kinda feel bad that I've done the same thing to my kid...oops!

My brother is a doctor, and one night he delivered a baby in the ER on one of his rotations. He had to go back in and do a check-up on the baby and mom (who was a child herself) , release them, sign the birth certificate, ect. He saw the name " Female" written on the birth certificate under her name area. He went in and asked the mom what name she wanted for her baby girl. She said, well Doc, you already named her Female ~she made it sound like "Fe-mail-ee" so, I liked it and we kept it. He said, no-no! that was 'female' as in what she is. They still didn't undersand. Poor kid out there somewhere named Female. True story !
