Teleportation. Not even a moment’s hesitation in choosing that.
To be able to teleport myself AND anyone else I chose anywhere I wanted would be the best.

OMG ... I could visit MFP friends!!! This this!!! And mind reading... so I know who actually wants to see me and why!

Exactly! Let’s teleport ourselves somewhere fun, why don’t we?

ohhhh can I want to be able to bring people with me when I teleport! then I can go get everyone and drop them on a deserted island and visit everyone whenever I want!

YES! That’s why I specified the power to teleport myself and anyone else I chose. Let’s stock a cozy deserted island or two with all our favorite people, shall we?

@skctilidie I love how no one questions us abandoning people on a deserted island for our own enjoyment....
and SOME!! ( @rhenry2424 ) even seem to be eager to go!

You’re planning to abandon them there @JustKeepTryin ? I figured I’ll stay there with them, at least most of the time. I am awfully fond of alone time, too, so will have to teleport back out of the no-longer-deserted isle sometimes. But if teleportation is as easy as I want it to be, I suppose we could also take a moment now and then to zap them back to their current homes for a visit.

Hey it's in the quoted text. I though you agreed :D I'd stay with them as well. for some of the time :) I suppose we can. could have been like our own private MFP zoo. . . . ooo can we keep the hot guys who are not nice people like that?

Ha, there’s a reason you’re the evil overlord and I’m just your Spork-y minion, I guess. Here I am thinking I’m gifting my friends a lovely vacation with us and you’re locking them in a zoo! I love your nefarious ways, tbh. You can keep the hot/not nice contingent in your own private zoo collection, though. There’s plenty of hot/nice around here to keep me more than satisfied.

ok fine... *kicks rocks* I'll try to be nice :/

That is not necessary. Being not nice might be much more fun.

Well...since I make a lot of people mad, I'd like to have the power to change mood/emotions. I'd be surrounded by so many happy people :D

I liked your picture today. I think it disappeared, though.

MFP started misbehaving for me after I put it up, had to take it down.

    The ability to manipulate matter.

To be able to materialize things (like a fresh cup of wonderful espresso which I need right now), to change things, basically to edit reality.

I want to make my own reality, with blackjack and hookers.

I'm in. Bring some of those protein cookies though.

Babe we can just make them appear on the spot, freshly baked. That's the whole point of this superpower. You don't even need to pack.

    The power to manipulate time...

Slow it, speed it up, rewind it, create it, destroy it, step outside of it etc

Then I can stretch my weekend as long as I want and get this night of work over with lol

I could fast forward, see the future, rewind and change it...

Fast forward and see the winning lotto numbers, rewind it and win it

Take a risk, fast forward, if it doesn't pan out, rewind and change it

This is too much power. You'd become obsessed with the butterfly effect and try to create the perfect timeline. It would be a burden. I'm sure some paradox exists within this. Like if you know the future and can change it then it's not really the future and the version you want is but you changed it?

But what's a super power without some sort of heroic/tragic flaw...

I could bring back the cure for cancer or heart disease... Go into the future to a day where there is an elixir of immortality... Then all bets are off lol

But being immortal renders life devoid of meaning. Living for eternity would be terrible. I sort of can't wait to die. A dreamless sleep in the void...sounds peaceful.. irrational to fear the literal void. Guess it depends on what you believe in.

Cure cancer and there would be mass overpopulation. When you solve one problem another always takes it place.

You could always go back to before you drank the elixir and redo your life all over again, after you've had fun as an immortal...

Space would still be a problem, I mean you'd still have to travel from a to b, although being able to stop time would make it seem instantaneous to everyone, it wouldn't be for you...

Unless you fast forward time as part of it... Nevermind, problem solved lol...

This makes the action of drinking the elixir pointless. The threat of death is probably the most powerful motivator and most of our actions..Even the most simple ones can be traced back to the start of the chain of thought. If you cant die there is no reason to do anything. Do you even YOLO bro?

Yes, were all hedonist but remember without suffering pleasure and happiness cannot exist. To live is to suffer. Back on immortality, if you can live forever you might as well be dead. Say you believe in the afterlife, is that not some form of eternal existence? What is the difference?

The difference being I'm just not ready to accept death... If I had the power to take such an elixer, then reverse it... Why not 🤷🏽‍♂️

Would I want to live forever... Probably not, but I don't think that's a question anyone could honestly answer

Look at it this way, say you had the power to choose the hour of your death... I don't think most people would ever honestly decide its time to go.

I can't accept the notion that if you could live forever you might as well be dead, because there's so much to live for.
