    I'd like to join, too!

I need a little extra motivation. Everything has just been exhausting and stressful lately! I'm going to start from the beginning of the year. So I'll have to check my distances in the morning (well, later in the morning, lol) and make my ticker.

Everyone is doing so great!

    Welcome to the team:happy:

Ran just over 3 miles this morning (and did lots of pullups throughout the run)

I'm on my phone right now, will update my ticker when I get to an actual computer!
  • Good job everyone!!!! I'm at 14 miles total!!!

I'm going for 4 miles today. Does anyone have a suggestion about how I can do a "pull up" like exercise without the pull up bar?? Right, I know that sounds strange, but I don't have a bar and don't have access to one but I need the benefits of pull ups. Any suggestions??

I'm in!! I have over 400 miles on my bike for the year so far.....I guess that's cheating though huh? :ohwell: I had over 4000 miles on my bike last year and was still 25 pounds overweight. I added running in January and started tracking my calories here a couple of weeks ago and I've lost 4 pounds so far. Maybe I should just count my running miles.....???....they seem to be doing me more good.

This might sound funny but try your local playground. People might laugh but who cares what they think.

We got a really cheap pullup bar from walmart (I think $20 or $30) then upgraded to the perfect pullup (a little more, but totally worth it)

Other than that and the playground, I don't have any ideas for you!!

How do you update your miles on the ticker? Do you just have to go there and re-do it?

I did 2 miles today. I started to feel a little weak so I decided not to push it.

I found that the days I listen and stop are usually followed by days I can go longer than usual.

To update your ticker: You can either go to ticker factory or I set it on my home page, which is igoogle, and then just click on it.

Either way it takes you to the update data page on ticker factory.

    Go Team!!!!!:drinker:

How did you get your miles ticker on your posts. I made one from Ticker factory also. Now I don't know what to do with it.

I am posting to see if it worked.

The government has a great "virtual" trip across the country you can do--i started it last year and made it to kansas before winter hit!

Go to this link and register--it's free! You then enter your daily mileage and if it's cycling, walking, etc. And it shows you where you are in the country, virtually. I found it a great motivating tool.

Bamboo--that's great you've done that many miles cycling so far! The winter here has been horrid--we got 3" of snow Monday! snow2.gif

Congrats on the power cleaning. I need to motivate myself to do that too. I have decided that I have to get at least 2 miles everyday, but only got 1.8 today because I had a personal training session and that kicked my butt. Great job to everyone, you are all an inspiration!

I think that's a awsome idea. Unfortunately it's too cold here to drag my kids out in the cold and a gym membership is just too expenssive at the momment. I guess I'll just have to make it a summer goal. Thanks for the great idea!

I decided to change the distance I want to travel. I live in Northern California and have decided to walk/jog/run/elliptical to Ocean City, Maryland. The distance from my house to the Ocean City City Hall building is 2,889 miles so I just rounded up to 3,000. I'm hoping to get there by the end of the year.
