    Need some advice on "Saddle soreness".

    I am a new rider and after two days of cycling my cheeks are pretty sore. Is this normal? Any advice/tips much appreciated.

    Padded shorts do help. And over time I think our butts get used to riding.

    If it persists, you may want to try out different seats. I had one seat that was just dreadful. I tried for 2 weeks before I gave up on it.

    Decided on 20 miles per day on the static bike for January, so far I have done 100 miles total this month.

    01-02 - 17 Miles - 73 Minutes - 1886 Calories - Trainer ride. Way to windy and cold outside.
    01-03 - 19 Miles - 94 Minutes - 2009 Calories - 32 degrees. Sunny. 10 to 15 MPH head winds out; then 10 to 15 MPH tail winds back.
    01-04 - 18 Miles - 96 Minutes - 1760 Calories - 44 Degrees. Sunny. Same winds as yesterday. Took it easy.
    01-05 - 21 Miles - 105 Minutes - 1953 Calories - 54 Degrees. Sunny. Strong headwinds for half the ride.

    in January, I'm going for at least 180. It'll probably have to be mostly on the trainer if last January's weather was typical in our town. Egad.

    1. 6.36 mi 30 min trainer
    5. 7.23 mi 30 min trainer
    6. 7.31 mi 30 min trainer
    7. 5.00 mi 32 min - neighborhood hills (wearing a lot of clothes!)
    Total 25:89 mi so far

    I need to up the pace to make my goal for the month. Let's see, I need 154.11 miles and I have 24 days left, but I need to take a day off each week, at least, so that means I need 7.33 miles for each trainer ride, since we know these are going to be mostly trainer rides... Must rethink plan...
