Anyone use/heard of "TurboJam"? It seems great, but I'm curious if it's really all it's cracked up to be.
3babybeans--so what do you DO to burn the 600 calories in 50 minutes? My workouts don't burn nearly that much.0 -

:blushing: Turbo Jam. Seriously! I LOVE it! It is such a fantastic workout. Lyn (drevansmom) does it as well. I've been doing it since August & have had FANTASTIC results. I can honestly say that I have never been in this good of shape. :smooched:0 -
Just thought I would pop in real quick and say a hello...fixin to eat me some oatmeal with a little bit of brown sugar and then clean clean clean....the boys and i are leaving tomorrow to go to houston (about 3 hours away) cause my mother in law got me rodio tickets and i 'm super excited i haven't been in years....even though it means the boys missing a day of school but they were ok with that...LOL they need a break anyways...lol
Does anyone take any diet pills or anything or do u lose the weight all on ur own watching what u eat and exercising?
Have a great day0 -

I can say with near 100% certainty that none of us are on diet pills (that I've met so far). It is hard work to watch your food & exercise, but SO worth it. Once you educate yourself on how to lose weight & eat healthy, the weight will stay off easier b/c you know how you got heavy in the first place.
Have fun in Houston! I hope the boys enjoy themselves & their day off school! :flowerforyou:0 -
jcarter--I've used pills in the past, and they honestly didn't help with anything for me...rather just made me feel sick. I say just eat healthy, take a regular multivitamin, and exercise.
3babybeans--that's what I've heard. Hmm...wish I could get it sent here. I'm coming to the states in May though, so hopefully I can order it before I come and have it waiting for me. Totally worth the money huh?0 -

Turbo Jam is great!!! I've lost all of my weight in 6 months doing Turbo Jam and using this website. It's fun, motivating, and the music is great. It's addicting. We (3babybeans and I) have a turbo jam thread, so if you want to hear some more "testimonials" jump over (I'll post the thread) and read thru some of the posts. It is TOTALLY worth its money. 3 years ago, I bought the basic set. I lost 20 lbs in 2 months and then I got lazy. After my baby was born in July (and I got the ok from the doc) I started exercising again. In December I was so excited about the results I was seeing and the weight I was losing I spent another $100 on more workouts. I think I ALMOST own the whole collection now and I love every minute of it. I know one of the girls on our thread is in Ireland and had to contact a distributor to get her videos because she couldn't get beachbody, amazon, or ebay to ship them to her. Maybe you could do that. There are a couple of distributors of Turbo Jam here on MFP. If your interested we could give you their screen names and you could contact them.
Wow, I got excited there for a minute
jcarter-Diet pills are not worth the money. Overall they don't do anything good for you. You can probably lose weight faster and healthier just by watching what you eat and exercising. Educate yourself on foods that are filling and low calorie and make sure you are drinking lots of water. Those will help you so you don't feel hungry.
I have a job interview today. Could be a work at home and office kinda thing, so I'm really excited about it. I haven't worked in almost a year so I feel a little overwhelmed about the whole idea, but the extra income will be nice. I'm hoping that the employer and I can come to an agreement on hours at home vs hours in the office, plus allow me to bring my baby to the office cuz I don't want to have to get a daycare for just a couple hours a week. We will see. Wish me luck!0 -

Good Morning from Alaska!
I really need to clean house, but with Hubby in Iraq I just can't muster the will power for it. I mean if the kids don't care and there isn't anything sticky in sight it can wait, right? I am still kinda new to mfp and was reading over the TurboJam conversation. Never heard of it, but you sound stoked about it. I'll have to look into it, huh? I think I am at a point where my weight loss is definitely slowing down. I'm starting to think that if I could just wean the baby that maybe that extra fat with melt off my buns and thighs, but he's only 8 months and I really don't want to rush things. This is the first really sucessful breastfeeding and I wish I could do it til he was a year old. But, Hubby will be coming home right around then, and I want to look nice, ugh, so conflicted.
I am still food logging and trying to eat right. I jog too, but I never burn more than 300 cals. So I really need to find some thing that burn more cals with less time. I guess that's what we all would like. Any ideas?0 -

Oh, don't wean the baby! I had a hard time losing weight with my boys breastfeeding, but I wasn't successful after they quit nursing at 11 months either (they both self-weaned). Turbo Jam has a great sculpting routine that will help firm up the booty & thighs so even if there is a little extra padding there, they'll still look better, kwim?
I don't want Lyn & I to take over the thread with our praises of Turbo Jam, but her & I are both breastfeeding our daughters & have had a LOT of success with it. Plus, there are so many workouts, I never get bored with it either.
I think if my husband were overseas, I'd never clean so I feel your pain in that department! I hate cleaning. Well, I actually LIKE cleaning, but turning around to see that the kids have once again destroyed everything is so defeating! They're like walking, talking dirt monsters!0 -

I have yet to get bored with Turbo Jam. There's a lot of routines to do & it is just simply a lot of fun. You can do this, Carter!0 -

Thanks! People say that all the time. So one time I pinched her cheeks just to see what she'd do. She spit up on me. :huh:Wow! Beautiful girl.

Thanks! If I have a boy, I wouldn't be sad but I really wanted a little girl.loreeb--Lori is it? Your little girl is so beautiful! What a sweetheart!
Yep, it's Lori. When I came up with my 1st email address I didn't want to just put my name. My name then was Lori Black and I was 18 so the creative youngin' I was I came up with loreeb18 and now I just use that as my screen name for everything. And thanks!0 -
Hi everyone another bad nights sleep this is really gettin to be a pain I have no energy now to work out so have decided to skip my cardio this morning been for my walk though and I will just do shred this afternoon and put extra effort in when I go swimming tomorrow I have done so much cleaning this week I only have one room left to do gonna get started on that in a min hubby is cleaning the car ready for our nightmare sorry trip this weekend. My little Paige walked the dogs today with us she didnt need her stroller (hubby broke it yesterday I dont want to buy another because she starts preschool this sept and I think it will be a waste of money for such a short time I am buying 1 from walmart for our disney trip though one of those sit n stand ones so both my girlies can rest their legs it works out cheaper to buy one than hire one)
Have a good day all best go get this cleanin done :yawn:0 -

I can totally understand that. Boys are exhausting & dirty & loud. With a girl, you have at least a LITTLE hope that they'll be cute & wear dresses forever. You wouldn't believe the comments I got when I was pregnant with our third when we found out she was a girl. I didn't care what we had by any stretch of the immagination but people (STRANGERS at that) would say, "Oh, good! you got your girl!" or "Oh, thankgoodness! You won't have THREE boys!" Ridiculous. :grumble:
That being said, T is a lot of fun. She's just different than the boys. It is like some good female energy in the house or something.0 -

Fantastic! I'm so glad she was able to help you out! You are going to LOVE it! I took a Turbo class at the gym last night & that was awesome, too. Love the workout!0 -

Lots of cleaning huh? Counting those exercise calories? I have to on mine because cleaning my house definitely isn't a daily part of my routine...although it should be.
Sorry to hear a trip away is categorized as "nightmare". Hopefully you'll have some "sweet dreams" in there somewhere?
It seems like just when you need a piece of child equipment to hold out for another six months, that's when it decides to break. I think they're manufactured that way. I'm fortunate because we have a lot of secondhand children stores here. But even sometimes that seems like a waste of money for things when you know you're just going to be giving it away or storing it away in about three months. Hope you're able to find what you need.0 -
Good morning mommies!
Well, I believe my baby girl is finally almost better. Holding my breath for no fever tonight. This will be day eight. She actually ate a little last night and was a little playful with her brother, even sat and played cards with us. But boy was she ready for bed. Keeping her home at least one more day from school because her energy level is next to nothing. But I'm at least a little stressed out now that she is on the upswing.
I squeezed in the gym yesterday, even got on the treadmill for an extra 20 minutes before my aerobics class and decided to give the scale another go. I mean, I know it's cheating because I just sweated a lot, but I actually saw the numbers go DOWN to where I haven't seen them since they started going on. So I'm counting those numbers and not worrying about the scale again until next week. Maybe it's false advertisement, but seeing a weight loss keeps me a little more motivated.
Work, bible study, maybe housecleaning (I doubt it), laundry piled to the ceiling, snuggle time with my daughter, and date with my son tonight...so I'm off. Hope you guys have a happy and wonderful day...(sorry, too much happy juice this morning).0 -

My now 17 year old daughter was exhausting and dirty and loud IN a dress. She was a frilly skirt and Easter bonnet wearing dust bunny. Think PigPen from Peanuts in a dress. She'd go out in the morning HAVING to wear her hat from Easter and one of her play dresses and be the dirtiest child by the end of the day. She was precious. (still is, by the way)0 -

Hi! Fellow military wife and mom, I am reading your posts thinking you will drop 20# by the time your hubby gets home just from keeping up with 3 kids:noway: I have one, and I felt whoopped at the end of the day when my hubby was gone, can't imagine keeping up with 3! More power to ya girl! :flowerforyou: We were stationed at Ft Hood for a while, don't miss those TX summers, now in KS. I have a bunch of different workout videos, just because its hard to get out of the house somedays! I like my Leslie Sansone walk at homes and 30 day shred kicks your butt in 20 min. I would think you could go a long way on just those 2.0 -
Good Morning Mommies !!!
Well I took Maeve to the Hospital since the Dr wouldnt be able to see her til 310p She was having coughing fits to where she couldnt catch her breath!! Scary!! The hospital checked for Flu Rsv and did a chest xray..... Results were Broncitis and a middle ear infection absolutly no strep throat like the peditrican said...... But they said that she has scarring on her lungs from when she had pheunmonia ... and that she is a greater risk for it and other lung problems now. Her peditrician said that there would be no effects and not to worry about her lungs ARGH LAST STRAW ... I called to switch drs. my niece who has cerebalpalsy has a good peditrician so I called got in BUT because the kids have medicad as a secondary insurance we cant go till april 1st ... so the follow ups are going to go to the crappy dr. But on a good note Maeve is starting to feel much better with the new antiobiotic that the hospital put her on , they said the one that the dr put her on wouldnt have helped anything ..... But I am still confused as to WHY Cali is still running that slight 99.3-100. temp? Maeves temp we found out runs low 96-97s so when she has a temp it is always higher than what the themometer reads.... Could Cali run higher all the time or is this something to worry about??
I am feeling pretty good lately except for TOM and I want to eat everything insight..... Ran on the treadmill for a little bit yesterday man that is hard when your not used to running ... But my dog Otis loves the treadmill now! Spent time cleaning the girls room, I dont understand how it gets so messy so fast.... We have a 5 bedroom house two rooms down stairs , mine and the girls rooms the three up stairs are for our kids that come twice a year.... BUT no one ever likes to sleep up there... I wish Cali would sleep up there she could have her own room and not have to share with Maeve cause that room is small and sometimes it is hard for her to sleep when Maeve stays up cause she gets noisey... Maeve always used to be in bed first but she has changed so much she never wants to go to bed now and never wants to take a nap which she used to tell me nap everyday... ?? I dont know... I guess I am just blabbing today blah blah I guess I will shut up LOL
Thanks for reading
Everyone have a wonderfull healthy day!!0 -
Good Morning Mommies,
I have been MIA lately sorry. I have been dealing with a bad spell of depression and am finally starting to come up out of my hole some. I have a friend from church who also is a teacher at the kids' school and we have been doing Walk Away the Pounds after school, that started 3 days ago and that has helped a lot now today my goal is to get my eating under control.
I had to keep the 4 yr old home today cause he was gageing when he got up so I thought it would be best to keep him home than to send him to school and then get a call later saying come get him.
Hubby and I will be working on some of our calves today so we can get some moved around to bigger areas and then I will be working out again after school.
Hope everyone is doing good today.
