Hi all. New to the group. 56 y/o here and generally healthy living has kept me free of any major problems so far, though I've gained some weight I'm working on losing now. My favorite exercises are bicycling and hiking. I go to the gym for upper body but hate exercising indoors. My fitness goal is to be able to continue walking five miles a day when I'm 80 and, at that same age, be able to carry my groceries upstairs easily and without being short of breath .6

Hello, 46y/o no exercise yet but have been losing weight with CI CO. Nice Thread. The title where the cool kids are reminds me of the 80s for some reason5

Hope you feel better soon! such bummer!3 -
@tojo_73 @Djproulx @Jessicatrottmfp Thanks so much for all your kind words!

Hi! I'm Kelly. Pretty new here. I did PINK Method back in 2011-2013. Kept it going for 20 months straight. Completed the program 7 consecutive times. I was so fit and felt great. Got down to 116 at one point! Too thin, so I tried to maintain 123. Then I had 3 family deaths, including my mother to lung cancer, and my life got out of whack for a while with the grief. I put on a lot of weight and got up to 139.2 by January of this year. So January 18th, I decided to do something about it. By the end of that week, I was ready to start PINK Method all over again. I lost about 15 pounds in 2 months! Right now I'm trying to maintain around 125. I feel pretty comfortable at this weight, and I can indulge in small treats and hang out there. I'm on my third round of PINK this year. I always intended to adopt PINK as a lifestyle, not as a diet. I don't intend to let life get in the way again. I like feeling healthy and fit. I'm 44, going on 45. I have 3 kids (17, 12, and 8). I've been happily married almost 22 years. The PINK Method website went away today, so I'm back to using the DVD's instead of streaming online, and I found this site about a week ago as a new place to start logging my meals and exercise. I love it so far! It's so easy to use because the database of foods is so extensive. Thanks for letting me join in! I'm living PINK!3

@MJFSH sounds like a great workout! I'm finding it difficult to persuade my husband we don't need pizza! I can always send supplies!
@narak_lol I am in awe of your cycling!! I cycled for just under 2 hours and literally couldn't walk the next day. It's early days for me though but I'll get back to where I want to be.
@RoxieDawn a night run sounds great. Hope it goes well.
Well I was a bit sore yesterday from the KB workout so avoided doing too much. I just tried to be as active as I could and walked or cycled everywhere - mainly to try to build up some calories for gin in the evening!
Today I continued with my little running plan to run for 30 mins without stopping- I know it's not much compared to some of you but I'm managing to cover two and a half miles in 30 minutes jogging with a bit of walking. I will get there just got to keep working at it and be patient. Ive also cycled to the park and back to meet my husband and the dog.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
I thought I would come back and post how my pajama run went Saturday night. First we all wore these glow sticks and glowing shoes laces, etc.. we all looked like glowing aliens in the moonlight..
I finished 2nd in my age group with a 5k time of 26:16 (which was a personal best)... I do a 10k the day after birthday.. I turn 48 next Friday..6 -
@RoxieDawn - that is an amazing time!! Good luck with the 10K.1
-
Congratulations @RoxieDawn!1
-
@RoxieDawn Congrats on the AG podium finish and PR! Well done!
Those pajamas must really know how to move. You may want to consider wearing them for the 10k.......

...I am very behind on this thread. So, I will just "report in":
1. I worked out Monday and today. Will try and squish in a workout Friday and cardio Saturday.
2. I have kept my daily calories below 1,400 all week...so, that should help with fatloss.
3. I am sleeping like crap and seem to be suffering "night-sweats" and "hot-flashes" again. Boo.
4. I am in a 10-week calorie-cutting challenge with a facebook group.
See ya!6 -
Rainy day here so I hit the gym instead.
I found the below in youtube by chance yesterday. This is perfect for me as I (try to) do full body twice a week, and since my community gym only has dumbbells, these dumbbells exercises are godsend to me. I picked 5 of the exercises, they are great... Just thought I'd share

It has been awhile since I posted here. Need to get my act back in gear.3

My average weight for the week was 166.7 lbs, down 0.7 lbs from last week. I had a pretty crazy water fluctuation on Wednesday that kept the average higher than where I was most of the week. My daily weight this morning was 165.8 lbs, so I'm thinking that in about two weeks I'll be under my next interim goal of 165 lbs .
Still trying to adapt to new routines with the family so haven't been to the gym, but have been fitting in 3 second push-ups, v-ups, and dips during the day at work.5 -
After months of training for overall endurance, my body is used to running slowly (10:00 pace) for a long time. Now its time to shift gears and start work on regaining some run speed. Went back to the gym and did some core work, then jumped on the treadmill for a tempo run. Nothing crazy, but simply an elevated heart rate effort for 3 miles of the 4.5 mile workout. It felt good to push a bit after months of recovery paced runs.
Quitting work around noon today since the weather is great. Even talked my wife and her friends into providing kayak support for our regular Friday night group of open water swimmers.
Happy Friday!4 -
Still in recovery mode and enjoying it too.
Back at it on Monday. or maybe earlier. who knows2 -
Been so long since I posted anything! I broke my shoulder last year and went into total back slide mode. I gained back all but 2 of the 18 lbs I had lost and felt miserable. I'm back at it as of last week, but I'm not as motivated as I was before the injury. I wish it wasn't so blasted HOT here so I could get out more!
Hey all of you who had kids in the 90's, fess up--who's playing Pokemon Go??2 -
33rd wedding anniversary in 2 days. Eating light as I suspect we'll splurge a bit.3

I was soooo happy to get an hour outside to pull some weeds in my garden before the hopefully final band of rain from Hurricane Hermine moved through my area earlier today. Normally, I would slather up with suntan lotion, but today it was a spray down with bug spray...given all the post-storm standing water, we're bound to have a ton of mosquitoes, and yep, potentially Zika.
I might go out for another hour to finish the job. It's been since Tuesday that I could go outside. And this is mondo weed pulling, where I have to basically lean back with my full weight for some weirdly great weed resistance training to pull up them up by the deeply entrenched roots. Though there is a strange big yellow ball in the sky that I've not seen in ages...not sure if it is friend or foe so will have to be on my guard.
Hope to get some paddling in tomorrow despite the likely debris and icky water in the bay after the storm and run-off. Looks like it will turn out to be a great Labor Day Weekend.4 -
41 here. Feel free to add.3

Enjoy the weekend. Glad you got outside. We too have some full body strength weeds to contend with.1 -
