i walked last night - it was so gorgeous out! But the mosquitoes have officially arrived and I have bites everywhere. Yikes!
Today, I lifted heavy, so I feel great about spending the rest of my workday out on my deck!! I love that I can work from ANYWHERE....it is great in the summer - and even in the dark of winter, I can head to the gym and have a hot tub and work from there - ha ha.0 -

While I most often work at my standing desk, I often work in bed and have occasionally worked from the shady backyard hammock that hangs from the kids' treehouse. One of the many perks of working remotely.0 -

Pretty consistent workout week for me, and off to my favorite track (Laguna Seca) tomorrow!
Sounds like a blast! Hope to see photos with you on the podium next week!
Love that track as a spectator. Saw some Can-Am races and Superbike races there long ago. Now you've got me thinking about a mini-vacay to watch some races.
WSBK and MotoAmerica are there the end of June
This was just a track day for me (no podiums to fight for). Struggling with transmission/shifting issues all day going from 4th into 5th gear. I think it's mechanical, but electrical hasn't been ruled out. I'm back there again this next Monday, so I will load up both bikes and see WTH I can figure out and narrow this down to one or the other.
Day was definitely a workout though - dang that track took a lot out of me! Tired and sore for a few days after, feeling much better today after a good night's sleep last night.
Still had a good time, and still pulled a PB out despite the shifting issues!

Makes me want to get on a bike again. I sold my ZX-7R over a decade ago and still regret it.2 -

I don't post a lot, but last weekend I had a powerlifting competition. I had a bit of trouble with the squat, but ended up with a 75kg squat, 45kb bench, and 125kg deadlift. Took a few days off to eat back up and rest. Today I am back on my nutrition program and looking forward to bench and squat tonight. I will be hitting below parallel on ALL squats.6

CG Peak week has been interesting so far. Between the rain and humidity, camp has been very wet! The humidity was so bad on Tuesday I felt like I was running through water. Heading out for some hill sprints today. Hopefully it won't be too ugly out there. Maybe I'll just use the treadmill!1

Happy Friday kids. Sorry for the hiatus. Trying to find a new gym home once again. I wish I had the motivation to workout at home. I tried throughout my life to create an ideal home gym and then I NEVER use it. Have a great weekend.2

Wow, I did not know you had a home gym, caramel!
My hubby (an introvert) wants “us” to create a home gym. But I know I prefer my cardio in a group setting. I also know that while I am an introvert when I lift weights, I still like access to all the big equipment the gym can provide!4 -
ST for about 70 minutes the past couple days. Lots of walking on Wednesday. This weekend is all about getting ready for Monday, gotta re-assemble the race bike, and swap some parts between the bikes Sunday morning, and work the part time gig both days too (although I'll be putting in my notice to that on June 1).0

Cardio kickboxing all week, trying to increase my weights on the resistance portion so did 25lb dumbbells last night when she said legs, then we squats with push presses to start and then 5 burpee push presses after every round. Needless to say I felt it tonight when we did weighted squats to start! Then off for an hour walk/hike with my youngest.
Hopefully points of gardening, pool opening and fence fixing in my long weekend as the dojo is closed for the weekend.0 -

Agreed. Cardio is more fun if you can complain to each other and *kitten* about how the trainer is trying to kill you.
There are too many distractions and diversions at home for me. When I go to the gym, it gets me in that "workout state of mind".1 -

Gotta love Max 30! And timely water breaks. Btw, the P90X One on One...I'm pretty sure I'd be intimidated by anything named Massacre!0 -
It's CG Bold Week. So one full-out crazy workout on Monday and recovery for the rest of the week, for which I am grateful! Mud Endeavor 10 on Saturday was tough but good. I'm ready for some recovery workouts.1

So, if you don't know, I'm a powerlifter. I like picking up heavy things. My profile pic is me doing a deadlift competition at the Caffeine and Kilos event last September. You can see I'm lifting "sumo style", which basically means the legs are spread out wide, and the hands are inside the legs. I've been pulling sumo style for about three years. I'm pretty much topped out in how much I can pull that way...at about 275lbs or 125kg.
The other way to pull a deadlift is "conventional" style, where you set your feet at about shoulder width, and your hands are outside your legs. Both styles are allowed in competition. People pull sumo style because they have lower back problems, they want to pull a shorter distance (the wide leg stance reduces the length of the pull), because they have stronger quads, or they just want to look cool deadlifting. I switched because I kept hurting my back pulling conventional. Plus sumo DOES look cool.
But three years later...I'm a lot stronger. My back is very very strong, and my hamstrings and, er, butt, are all...well, er...pretty darn big at this point. And I've topped out sumo style.
So I decided to switch back to conventional pulling just to see if I could make it work for me. I'm definitely stronger conventional. I switched back last week. I took it pretty easy, just trying to remember my technique. All went well. No back twinges, not even tired or the least bit sore.
Last night my old program called for 3 singles at 253lbs/115kg, sumo style. Of course, suddenly I'm pulling conventional, so I thought, well let's just play it by ear and see how it feels. It felt GREAT. 115 went up like a light warmup pull. Like a feather. Like buttah. Seriously, I could have done 125 easily.
I might get that 300lb pull before my birthday in September! I will be 60 yrs old, and I'll be the strongest I've ever been in my life.
