No PRs were set, but it was a nice day out and I’m a little amazed I finished as quickly as I did considering that I had a ton of Mexican food and draft beer last night. Not the best fueling decision I’ve ever made.3 -
I have weighed the EXACt same for the last three saturdays. Like to the second decimal point, lol!
This is a bit frustrating, lol.
I felt GREAT after today’s workout....best I have felt in two months, actually. So, I am not mad or anything. But, weird, eh?2 -

Interesting that you post this today - made me realize something. I've been in this 205-209 range for two months. Eating more carbs than when I started. Have had lots of energy at workouts and minimal aches and pains. Life is good. Thanks for making me see the bright side.

just throwing in some stuff I think I need. not ready to commit to a full program just yet. I have the Spartan BEAST tomorrow, and Savage BLITZ next week...so, "randoming".

That works. How long does it take you to do a Beast?
It took the GF and I a little over 7 hours. More than an hour faster than last year. And she did obstacles she couldn’t do last year. I got bumped off the twister...they bumped me 5 times before I dropped though. I can do twister, figured it out last year. Still flubbed the stupid spear throw.2 -

4-mile easy run. 50 deg F and rainy, and I had the bike path completely to myself.1

Good, alteredsteve - always good to find a bright side!
I do have to report in a "zero loss" week in my challenge. Sigh.
This week, I will step up drinking more water and seriously figure out how to NOT eat right before bed (...and, no, don't give me "drink tea!" advice or some such thing because I do NOT ingest ANY liquids after supper as I do never, ever want to wake up in the middle of the night to peeeeee)1 -

Strength day, with a 20-minute rowing warmup. Finally figured out a workout log/notebook that works for me (spiral-bound reporters notebook), so I can keep track of reps/weights/progression.1

Started a 4 days a week Cosgrove strength workout program I have followed in the past. Front squats done.
Finished with 360 feet on Jacob's Ladder. That thing is evil.0 -
I did weigh in on Saturday and for the third week in a row my scale said THE SAME NUMBER. Like to the second decimal. Abysmal.
Saturday was the end of Week 1 of my 5-week challenge to lose 5 lbs. So, now I have to try and lose 5 lbs in 4 weeks. TOUGH TO DO.
I did go walking for 2.25 hours on Sunday - so, I actually did about 3 hours MORE exercise this week than a "normal" week.
For the upcoming week, here is what I am doing:
Monday: stepcardio
Tuesday: weightlifting (and then maybe yoga...but maybe not)
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: yoga
Friday: weightlifting
Saturday: stepcardio
Sunday: badminton1 -

Awesome! 7 hours, huh? That's some serious endurance! Do the Aid stations have gels or other treats for energy?0 -
CG Strength and Agility Week! My favorite...right up until I showed my true lack of agility by falling on a divot in the sidewalk...twice...the same divot. I am now sitting on the couch with my foot elevated, sporting a huge bruise and covered in ice and ointment and calling off of work because I can stand on it. Lovely.
For those wondering, yes, I did finish the workout. Endorphins are a wonderful thing!
At least tonight was just a short shift so I'm not missing much.0 -
Happy Monday kids. My trainer is promoted and no longer able to train her clients. How hard is it to have a class or trainer at 430 or 5 a.m.? I can't win for losing. The dogs and I are enjoying the weather. Congrats to all of you for sticking to or exceeding your goal(s).1

Ran 3 miles. Slightly faster than “easy.”
I’m watching the temperatures climb during the day, and am realizing that I’m going to have to get up earlier if I want to run outside.2 -
Day 2 of the Cosgrove workout. Bench presses and other stuff.
Finished with a 400 foot climb on Jacob's Ladder. I'm developing a love/hate relationship with that beast.2 -

I had to look up what this is. That actually looks like fun. Then again, I think climbing ropes, crawling through the mud, and running up sand covered hills is fun, so you can't really go by me.0 -
Sigh. No rope work for me today. My foot is just a little too sore and bruised to be climbing up the tree to attache the rope and then climbing the rope let alone do the balance and plyo work that's also part of my Tuesday workout. If I behave myself today, I should be back at it tomorrow.
I have a quick question for everyone. Has anyone here ever done a GoRuck event, specifically the Constellation events. My husband, son, and I are looking at doing the one here in July, and I would love some feedback if anyone has done one. Thanks!0 -

Same here, Betty. Someone posted on MFP about a Jacob's Ladder workout. I have just rejoined a gym that I used in the past. Walked in the first day back and saw one. Had to try it.
Please let me know if you try it. It's a great workout - in that "Am I going to die before I finish this?" sort of way.1 -
I too had to look up what Jacob's Ladder workout was. Similar to a step climber.
Back from a week away - did my I-Challenge (5km race Friday night and half marathon Saturday morning). Both went well, surprisingly. lol. Ran today after work and it darn near killed me. WTH?
@Beeps2011 - that is so weird that you have weighed the exact same for 3 weeks in a row. I fluctuate like crazy day to day, which also sucks!
@gam3rguy - those races are intense! I thought the Tough Mudders were tough, but they sure don't take 7 hours! I think I did mine in about 3-4 hrs.
I heard about a squat challenge someone was doing, so thought I would challenge myself. Did some this morning and will do some this evening and then again before bed. Each day for 2 weeks, will try and increase them by 5 at each session.

I learned somewhere, either an article in a running magazine or a post on a running forum, that your recovery should take one day for every mile raced. You can do super easy recovery runs but no speed or hill work. And don't expect too much from yourself. You gave a lot on the course. You shouldn't have much left.1 -

Had a good workout Monday, then decided that doing some light sparring would be a great idea. It was, until I decided to divert/block a kick with the same hand that already had a hairline fracture from my crash a couple week ago
Doing some activity today, will do some training this evening, but don't want to lift much of anything. Hand is feeling a little better today, but have been pretty careful with it since Monday morning.1 -
rest today. i'm taking an allergy beating and didn't sleep very well because it's too damn hot, and said allergy beating.2
-
1 hour of pilates yesterday. am sure feeling it today.1
-
sdereski, I cannot mentally handle day-to-day swings....which is why I limit myself to only stepping on the scale one x per week.
I joined some challenges to help me stay accountable. No more latenight snacking. And being mindful of what I put in my mouth.2 -
Hey Kids, just catching up and there's lots going on here!
Congrats gam3rguy, TMac, sdereski, on your recent races. Sdereski - 5k on Friday night, Half on Saturday morning?!? That is some work.
Had a fun race at the Mt Charleston Marathon/Half in Las Vegas. Six of my friends ran the marathon and 3 of them put down Boston Qualifying times, so that was great to see! I had fun doing the half, my first longer run in months. I didn't push too hard, finishing at 1:58:45, (9:04 pace) and my cranky heel tolerated it without pain, so it was a success.
Now its back to doing hill work on my bike. Just one month until the REV3 Quassy 70.3 race, affectionately titled "The Beast of the Northeast", lol. I'm looking forward to a practice ride of the bike course on Saturday.
