BLACK TEAM CHALLENGE WEEK 10

Marla, Do what is best for you. Fretting over getting on the scale every week is not worth the stress.:flowerforyou:
Well, truly it's not getting on the scale that's the hard part...it's seeing the blinkin' needle moving in the wrong direction despite my best efforts. Tilt! Tilt! Tilt! There goes the stress-o-meter off the charts.0 -
okay-- so yesterday I have a super skinny day....lookin' good, feeling good-- I have 1/2 cup (seriously, I measured it) of scalloped potatoes yesterday for dinner, knowing the sodium is gonna kill me--
I wake up this morning, roll over on my back to feel my pouch-- always an indicator of how my day is gonna go. If it's flat while laying on my back, all is well with the world. If it's poofy, stay out of my way.
The #$@! scalloped potatoes worked their flippin' magic and I'm up six pounds today. There is no frickin' way I gained six pounds this week. Hell, whanisch went on vacation and ate with reckless abandon all week and gained 7. Here I am, measuring all food, counting calories, working out and I flippin' gain? WTF?
So, I'm done. I need to remove myself from this team, weigh-in wise. The stress of the up/down BS is more than I can bear anymore. I have enough in my life, this is puttin' me over the edge.
With your blessing, I'll stay for the challenges and the support/chit-chat, but this is madness and I'm ready to throw myself off a G.D. Bridge!
Doesn't help, I know, that my scale is as old as Methuseleh. It takes me forever to get it back to zero before I weigh in. But enough already-- I can't take it anymore.
I responded this day by having a very healthy breakfast with fruit and eggs-- "key lime pie and lemon pie" one slice of each, followed by a Reese's peanut butter egg. Screw it already. This body wants shock, it'll see shock today. I also had a lovely M&Ms cookie-- as well as some Froot Loops. I'm sick as a dog right now.....what else can I eat?
Hopefully things will turn with the HRM that should arrive soon. I also ordered a food scale, although I never eat anything that has to be weighed. Who can afford meat? The sodium, boxed, packaged crap that is on our very tight budget is death for health and weight loss. I guess the fact that I've lost even 31 (well 31 before today-- ) is a flippin' miracle.
okay...heading to work....aggravated, crestfallen, downhearted.....but determined to press on. However, I won't be weighing in weekly anymore. :noway:to all.
Yikes Marla. Please do stick around and visit with us. We'd worry about you otherwise.0 -

*hugs* I'm sorry the scale is causing so much stress my dear. Stay away from it! Heck! Throw it OUT! You don't need that worry. You are doing so great with your food & exercise, I'm not sure the scale even matters at this point. Stay with us, though!0 -

Anyone still up for trying beets? Lynnie?!

So, the heart in the middle must have something to do with "that boy"??? Not prying - just picked up on it..
Marla - I'm so sorry that the scale is not treating you right.. I agree, it is too much stress - skip the weigh ins, but join us for the chats and challenges. We would miss you too much if you didn't.
Bobbi - I did it.. it almost killed me and seemed like at least an hour, but after my workout at the gym (20 min elliptical/20 min treadmill/20 minutes bike - can you tell I get bored fast) I spent 7 minutes and 3 seconds stretching. It felt ssoooooo good...
Sam - after Marla's experience with drinking lots of water, I say, "do what works best for you" - clearly not every solution works for everyone, and you can't mess with success..
Keep stretching everyone.. janie0 -
You crazy people & your ellipticals. Perhaps I'll try to go to the gym a little earlier than I planned & hop on one of the devil machines. I guarantee I don't last 5 minutes.
Janie - I hope I have fun. I'm seriously scared out of my mind. Yikes! How's the snow? Did you have to suffer through any more "I think we should go to Asia...BRUSH YOUR HAIR!!!" conference calls? I only think that's funny b/c one of my best friends is an online high school english teacher & has very similar conversations while talking to students in conferance calls & her 4 year old doing things like putting his undies on his head while he is supposed to be getting ready for preschool.
Hi, Julie, Roni & Nicky!
I started out at 2 minutes on the elliptical, adding on 1 minute every day and have now worked my way up to 21 minutes. It's not a lot, but it's enough to get me sweating and panting and cursing! (Only in my head, I don't have enough breath to speak out loud...) I agree, it's the devil machine, but you'll slowly learn to love it. Or at least not hate it...!0 -

I have to admit beet-cake does not sound appealing to me, and I am a beet person..
Now, if it were beef-cake - and blonde maybe..:blushing:

Thanks, Julie & WTG!!! I'm not a "machine" type girl so we'll see how this works out. Eeech. I'm not sure I'll be able to work out on the elliptical tonight though b/c the dude from the gym called & wants to "show me around" for the 1/2 hour before class that I was planning on screwing around. I guess I need to pay attention.
I'm terrified of going to the gym tonight. It is a brand new gym so I'm sure there's a ton of newbies (like myself) there, but still. Unknown situations by myself makes me...well (for lack of better words)...ACK! and a little :sick:0 -

OHH EEMM GEEE (as Sara would say)!!!
She is so cute... what a beautiful baby..0 -
To be fair, I stole "OH EM GEE!" from Sam.
Bobbi - might be the death of you? HA! You're too funny.
I'm having some serious social anxiety issues about the gym tonight. I don't go in public very often being a SAHM & when I do, I have little distractions with me. *deep breaths* Seriously. I'm nervous!0 -
Just for the record. Blueberry Greek Yogurt...not nearly as good as the honey. :sick:0
-
i love to stretch after, and i've been incorporating some ballet moves/stretches which feel so good. ahh
i've also heard that some people do stretches when they wake up in am--as their body is warmed from sleep.
or after shower--same reasoning.
i know i'm not in the black team, but i like to read your fun challenges. and the more time i'm typing here, the less opportunity to put food in my mouth!0 -

Sara, But what a way to go:bigsmile: :bigsmile:0 -
I have eaten everything not nailed down.
Two Reese's peanut butter eggs
Key lime pie
Lemon crumb pie
Bagel with butter
Bologna sandwich
Froot Loops
1/2 egg sandwich
Whopper/fries
Two donuts
And I ain't done yet. Blast this metabolism anyway--
Run for your lives, people-- SpongeMarla is beginning to absorb anything that's moving. Be afraid-- be very, very afraid.:devil:0
