What's your 5k time?

I haven't raced it, but when I run it at home, my 5k hill run (little hills!) takes about 35 minutes. Sad and slow, I am. But I will get faster!0
-
The only 5k I've ever done was walking.... it was a run/walk deal, so my time is much slower. 47:16 for my first try0
-
I think these posts are inspiring me to push myself extra hard to get under 30 minutes.
Outside time. I hate runnning on a treadmill. So boring!0 -
My first 5K was in December 2009. I could not run the entire race, I finished in 41:53 @ a 13:28 pace.
In November, my latest 5K, I completed the race 3rd in my age group (it was a small race field). Unchipped, I finished, officially, in 23:46 @ a 7:38 pace. I think I clocked my Garmin at 23:49, so I'll take it.
Lots of hard work and effort. And losing the weight definitely helps.0 -
21:12. This year i want a sub 20. For those of you looking to best your times, i recommend parkrun. Its a timed weekly 5k and i find the other runners will spur you on. Theres a group of seriously fast 50+ guys and a 15ish year old girl that im closing in on!0

My fastest in a 5K race was 30:21 but in a 10k last year, my first 5k split was 27:36 so I like to think of that as my 'unofficial' fastest recorded 5k time. I'm aiming for a sub 25:00 in 2012.0
-
The last race I ran in 2011 I timed in at 35:25, haven't ran in a while and looking to start up again0
-
I did a 5k on Thanksgiving Day and my time was 28.01.
On the treadmill I like to average about a 10min mile...sometimes a little faster. I stink on the treadmill - haha.0 -
My best time is 27.120

I used to run in High School (that was 20+ years ago--where does the time go?). I picked up running again about 4 yrs ago and am at a point where I am at least as fast as I was then--I am certainly more fit.
My best 5K was 20:10. That was two years ago and I fear I have peaked. I'm no longer built for speed. I can run the same pace for a 5K as a 10K--the benefits of getting older!0 -
My last/best 5K time in Oct. 2011 was 28min:12sec.0

Back in the days it was 21:40 but then stopped running for decades ! UGH. When I started up again - end of August 2011, being in my mid forties and a bit heavy, I managed a 32:48 on a hilly course, with some walking. My first race without walking clocked in at 29:55, also hilly. I got 26:25 in December and then started speed work and injured myself - ugh :grumble: - I got a 24:39 at a lightly short course according to my Garmin (still an 'official' time though lol). My goal for 2012 is going below a 24:00 not super fast but I would be very happy with that time.
I have noticed that my time and my ability to run 'fast' depends on the course (hilly and scenery) -- yup the scenery impacts my performance! I am looking for a down hill race!!!! and I found one in September of 2012! ALL down hill!0 -

WHERE?
Sounds like fun!0 -
1st 5k was 39 mins Thanksgiving day, 2nd 5k was 35:33. Running 5k tomorrow and goal is to be under 35 minutes. When I first started running I couldn't manage a 15 minute mile. Goal is to run a 5k every month and eventually be under 30 mins and then run a 10k this Thanksgiving.
And where do I sign up for the all downhill race lol0 -
First 5K Ever 4/3/10 - 43 Min
PR 28:37
Best race - Tri (Chip timed) 29:49
Most recent 29:38 (last night)
I plan on breaking my PR next week0 -
First one in 2010 26ish, think it was 26:40 or so. Nov 2011 finished in 23:20. Goal is Sub 22 this April.0

I'm built more for distance than for speed, but I've been working on the speed thing and it's starting to chip away at my time. Started out last summer with ~33 minute 5Ks. First 5K race after that last year was 29:27 and then next was 28:48. I'm hoping to get close to (or break) 25 min this year.0

i did c25k in sept 2010. i couldnt even run a block at this time. Ran my first official 5k in April 2011 hoping for a sub 30 and was surprised to come in at 27:30! I continued to race over the summer and got new pr 24:43. My goal is to get close to 18 "someday".0

I run in Georgia where there are lots of races (and competitions among race organizers - which is great for the consumer/runner) thanks to the peachtree roadrace - a very popular 10K race.
The one I am looking at is called "vinings down hill 5k", there are others, e.g., the "fast pace race 5K' that is also a fast race! I love living here! I can run a race every week, even in the middle of the winter! Can get pricey though.0 -
29:50 was my best time last year.. Now that I have gained 20lbs my best time is 34:00 gotta get this weight off to improve my time!0
-
I ran my best time a few days ago . I was under 25 mins for 3.38 miles.0

From 270 lbs.in September and not being able to walk up the driveway without being out of breath to 229 lbs. and 27:15 5k outdoor. Still working on it but not bad for 3 months and a week.0

25 min flat and that was the 2nd run of a duathlon.
Keep in mind that everything else being the same (weather/temp, terrain, and your VO2max), for every 5 lbs of weight you lose, this will translate to approx. 25 secs faster on a 5k. So if you drop 25 lbs, you should be over 2 mins faster on a 5k, again assuming everything else is the same.0 -
Just because someone runs a marathon I wouldn't call him/her a professional. Two different types of muscles for fast 5k and a normal Marathon runner.
My PR 5k is 19:59 last spring.
I did an easy 3 miler last night at 21:59. It was the first time I had ran on pavement (off trail) and that short of a distance for a bit.0 -

I've been running regularly again for about 6 months. I'm a leisure runner. Running 5k and 10ks a few times a year. When I got back into running my 5k times were 33-34 minutes. I've worked down to 23:45. Hoping to be able to do it in sub-7 minute miles this year. Continual training with running several times a week and varying your runs between longer slow runs, interval runs, tempo runs, etc you can speed up your pace! Best of Luck!0

I was making a comparison to myself to see where my time falls with those who are similar to me.0 -
Best time was this thanksgiving day, 17:51. Still good enough for a 300PFT, hoorah.0
-
My PR is 22:44 but I usually run it in just under 24 minutes.0

My one and only 5k...last October, 36:010
