liquor has the least per oz. Add that to a diet soda and you've got the lowest possible calories.

vodka water or vodka soda... tonic still has calories. Vodka and crystal light. And I also drink wine, there is antioxidants in red and its is still way lower cal than beer.

I'm a wine lover myself, so for wines I would definitely say go with a Riesling wine. Most are under 100 cals for a 4oz glass. For liquor, Ciroc is my fav!!! Mix with Ocean Spray cran-cherry (about 130 cals for a cup, but you won't need that much..), you got yourself a nice relaxing drink!!!!!

the ciroc and cran-cherry sounds wonderful! :drinker:

Vodka diet for me. If you don't like soda, you can do vodka water. It's only about 60 calories- soo much better than beer!

I know Hungry Girl has a few low cal recipes to check out. They weren't bad. Sometimes I take the flavored sparkling water and add half a shot of rum or vodka, sometimes flavor. I have been told by many, however, that alcohol will slow down metab if you go with too much so as with everything else, not in excess!!

I like the flavored vodkas with "Zero" products. For example, 1.5 cherry vodka and Sprite Zero for 104 cals or 1.5oz Whipped vodka with Coke Zero 133 cals.

This is actually a very good suggestion.

Clear liquors tend to pack the most alcoholic "punch" per calorie, which you can spread out over the course of the evening in mixed drinks, or just shoot straight- avoiding the mix calories altogether (plus if you get drunk right off the bat you probably won't be able to drink as much over the course of the evening).

Infused clear liquors will give you some extra flavor in your drink if you want it, without much in the way of extra calories, and mixing such with a zero or low cal soda will not only give you the taste of a fancy drink without the calories to match, but carbonation actually speeds the absorption of alcohol into your bloodstream (again, meaning you'll consume less because you'll get drunk sooner.)

    this one xxx :drinker:

Alcohol when you're working on nutrition is generally a bad idea for many reasons.

    1) avoiding the empty calories... need I say more?

    2) our bodies respond to alcohol by wanting MORE alcohol

    3) it dehydrates our systems

    4) it can destroy the beneficial bacteria in our intestinal tracts. You can boost it back up with probiotics and yogurt and such, but if you regularly drink alcohol you're regularly killing off the good flora that our bodies need to process our food.

I'm sure there are more reasons, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

That being said, if you're going to drink alcohol, there are far fewer carbs in hard liquor.

Same here, except I prefer Bacardi with the Diet Coke.

I was well under in my calorie intake today, so I grabbed a Mich Ultra while I was grilling the chicken.
