Black Team Challenge Week 11

I had all these evil plans in my head and in the end I've decided to be nice.
Our challenge this week, oh loyal minions... I mean... teammates!!!! Is to GET OUTSIDE.
Three of your workouts (and there should be a minimum of three workouts!) this week will take place outside of the house. Too often we work out only in a gym and fresh air and sunshine are just as important to our health as getting that blood pumping. So, that's the challenge and the reasoning behind it. Take a walk, do your sit ups, crunches, push ups, whatever in your back yard, offer to walk a neighbors dog! Just get outside for 30-60 minutes a day.
Now, it's going to be an interesting challenge for me because our weather has been jumping between -32 C and -14 C but if I can do it so can you all!
Have fun guys!!!!
And to those who ALREADY get their work out outside, you could always do the alternative challenge, which is to only wear spandex when working out. :blushing: And send me pictures. :blushing: :blushing:

OH!! This is a great one... I have trouble getting outside, but always feel better when I do.. I'll target my couch to 5K runs for outside, since the pool is indoors - thank god..
Besides, no one should ever have to see me in spandex -- -- although it could be a great appetite suppressor..

Spandex? Oh, Lord, anything but that-- okay, I'll do it, I'll do it!!!!!!
great challenge, Nicky-- !!!!!!!
Makes up my mind for me what to do today.0 -

Okay, I have to say.
This is the worst day in the history of ever.
Brought to me by the letters T.O.M.
I'm seriously cranky! :grumble:0 -

I know how you feel he came to my house too. It's hard to be cranky when you have a two year old saying to you "mamma hold my hand so I can jump high real high" or your 7 month old looking at you with her toothless grin and giving you the biggest smile ever!!0 -
You're right, it would be hard to be cranky in the face of that. I should steal my niece after work.0
-
I shall be sending you spandex pics b/c there is no way in heck that I'm working out in the cold. My nose freezes & my snot freezes & then my brain freezes. I will be spandexing it up.
*sigh* OR I could get off my lazy *kitten* & start the couch to 5K plan...hmmm...decisions decisions...
Have to admit...still leaning towards spandex, Nicky!
Hey! Whatever happened with that boy?0 -
You're right, it would be hard to be cranky in the face of that. I should steal my niece after work.
You can have my kids! They bring me endless joy, but mama needs a break!0 -
That boy and I have spent every free moment together since our first date. :blushing: But I don't know if that boy is my boy yet! It's silly too. GAWD. I'm not a teenager but he makes me feel like one. Haha.
Anyway, his car was stolen so it's not a good day for him either. At least my bad day is due to less terrible things!
And it's -32 C here!!!! You can't possibly be colder then that. Hahaaha. HA HA *GASP WHEEZE* HA!
OH I KNOW! Work out in front of an open window to simulate being outside!0 -

isn't everyone thrilled to find they're not pregnant with child number 10?
I love TOM!0 -

You could be the new show on TLC table for 12 then. Except all yours are singles right? these people had 2 sets of twins and then sextuplets!0 -
Well I gave all my spandex away during the 80s so I guess I better get my butt outside.
I am going to put a note on my door!!
Today my friend and I walked around the bldg 3x during lunch so that counts, right??0 -

Nicky,Okay, I'm an outside workouter ( yeah I know but its a word now). Just finished workout 2 week 2. I'll send pics in shorts but not spandex.:noway: BTW it was 33 today, people with asthma should have more sense then to try to breathe and run outside at the same time.
Sam, Rub it in ydontcha. I can't wait until our outside pools are open.
Marla,I stopped at two and thank God every month when TOM arrives. What is the tv show where the family just added 18?? I believe those were all single births.
Sarah,I believe she meant spandex outside. So still gonna wear it, go for the Couch to 5K.:laugh:0 -

There's some perspective for you.. Now I love TOM too. Only 2 DDs , but I think 3 would put me over my limit - definitely..
Our swim team is starting in a 50 meter outdoor pool for the summer - can't wait.. the pool is right on the beach (I know, weird huh?). the way things are going with the weather, summer won't be until August or so..
Off to pool..

Janie, Same think I was thinking about me in spandex.:flowerforyou:0 -
Does it count if I take a deep breath of fresh air when I open the door to let the dogs out?
This week is actually supposed to be warmer - mid 40's to low 50's, though rain some days. But I should be able to get outside.
I wasn't born until the 80's so I don't remember if I ever had spandex. :huh:0 -

I thought they had two sets of twins? Either way-- I'm soooooo not her...I love my kids, happy when I find I'm pregnant...but this Duggar woman pops out a kid and then says, 'We just can't wait to have more." Uhh-- I don't think so.0 -

They asked her the other night if she was done after 18 and she said I will be happy to have more but if this is it we are ok with that too. WTH?
I don't thik they get any assistance either. besides paid for the show. becasue they own their own businesses0 -

Same here, Lori. Plus, I was a pudgy kid...and fat kids don't do spandex.
It's supposed to be in the high 40s-low 50s for the next several days, so I guess I'll be taking the Couch to 5K outside. Damn MD weather...it was in the 70s on Sunday and now look. This is what we call pneumonia weather. :grumble:
Oh yeah, day 2 of Week 1 complete!0 -

I am so proud of everyone doing the Couch to 5k program. It gets easier as you go along I promise. I started at week 3 I think and now look at me I go at least 3 miles every time I run!!0 -

I didn't think of myself as chubby until I looked back when I was older and saw a pre-puberty picture of myself in overalls with a belt. Also in 6th grade a friend and I dressed the same one day in jeans, a purple turtleneck, and a white hat. I remember one kid made a comment about how we looked the same except that I was fat. :grumble: I have avoided wearing overalls and turtlenecks ever since.0 -
Hey team ... I'm still alive, mostly ... my charming DD keeps bringing nasty viruses home, so we've been enjoying flu-like symptoms this week. :noway: :grumble:
I've thrown in the towel until I feel better ... don't have the energy to do anything else. I cannot wait until the warm weather gets here ... I always feel so much better in the summer.
Will I exercise outside this week? Maybe ... if this virus leaves soon enough.
Bye for now ...0 -
I hope you feel better soon Tresa! :flowerforyou:
This challenge is so easy, so unlike the stretching one. Thanks Nicky! :laugh:0 -

Feel better soon. I know how you feel When M was in day care her and I were always sick!0 -
I should know better!!! But yet again I went and read around on other threads and I just can't believe how rude some people are. I mean some people have been here almost as long as I have and only lost a couple pounds and they are trying to tell other people what is right and wrong. I would never do that and I have lost a good amount of weight. People come to this site for support not to be called stupid for trying something. It's not our right to tell people what is right or wrong it is our right to say hey your trying this good luck and as long as your not hurting yourself physically or mentally go for it. We have a lot of KNOW IT ALLS ON THIS BOARD!!! so so tired of it!0
-
Some I have been here since January and I have to agree that some days I don't even read the boards because of the people on here that think that they know everything and IMO don't even need to lose weight to begin with! Okay, I wil shut up, now! :grumble:0
