the weird dark part on mushrooms... and also, huge mushrooms...
And tuna, but only because I'm terrified the brine will get on my fingers when I am straining it0 -
My husband just had steamed wasp's larvae in Laos, so that is my new afraid food.
He said it tasted mothy and not like chicken AT ALL.
I just can't..... how??...... and why??........
Well. It was what he was served, so he ate it. Insects are consumed both as staples and as delicacies in huge numbers across the globe. Our Western proclivities mean that we turn our backs on an abundant and palatable resource and oh god, he ate wasp's larvae.
The worst thing I have eaten is raw sea urchin. Tasted like iodine snot.0 -
Cake. I never cared about it before I started watching. Now if it's around, look out.....................0

I love asparagus, you just have to boil them. Also, put some balsamic vinegar for added flavour on the side of your plate. Mmm mmm good.
Boiling any veggie tends to remove most of the beneficial nutrients than other cooking methods. Steaming is the way to go.
According to a Harvard University study, "Cooking vegetables in water causes *SOME* of the nutrients to leach out into that same water...No matter how you slice it, vegetables are good for you pretty much any way you prepare them."0 -

Dominos Texas BBQ Pizza!
I'm new to pizza, I've never liked the stuff....
I have a daughter that doesn't like chips (hot ones, fries)!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always said she must be the only person in the WORLD that doesn't like chips lol. I even would get calls from mums when she was young and at a friends macca's birthday or something saying "Brittany reckons she doesn't like chips, isn't she feeling well today?" It freaked people out!!! I lurve chips. :ohwell:
I hadn't actually ever tasted pizza until I was about 23 LOL. It wasn't such a big thing here to have takeaways when I was growing up. I sure made up for it after I tasted it - I lurve pizza too!!!
My younger cousin doesnt like chips either (i them too) but she would still eat waffles, smiley faces, and alpabet potato shapes.. :-S
My best friend oesnt like sandwiches, this blows my mind!!! lol incedentally the same friend who introduced me to pizza!

Try asparagus! It's SO YUMMY. It's kind of sweet.
I used to steam it (wait until the water's at a rolling boil, add the asparagus to the steemer, cover and let sit for 7 minites exactly) and eat it with hollandaise sauce. Now I roast it: Toss with 2 tsp olive oil, lay flat on cooking sheet and sprinkle salt and pepper, then bake 25 minutes at 400 degrees.
SO YUMMY.
Now you have no excuse. :-)
I was afraid of it, too. Then my best friend had it on the buffet at her wedding reception, so I decided to give it a try.0 -

I used to feel like that about olives, but I've made myself like them, just the black ones, because everyone in my family loves them.0 -
mushrooms gross me out to the max.0

Eggs.
The fact that unfertilized reproductive material is pushed out of a chicken's body with a hard, (usually) white, orb-shaped shell is downright creepy. The fact that we eat this byproduct of chicken biology is kind of unsettling, too. And the way eggs go from liquid to congealed/solid when heated - that's kind of odd too. Well, to me at least. Everyone else seems to think eggs are normal and/or downright awesome. I'm weird - I know.
I've never been able to eat eggs in their native, unaltered state - they have to be mixed into something (like CAKE!), rendering them invisible for me to eat them.0 -

I love asparagus! The best way I like it is to sauteed. You sautee olive oil and garlic ( diced) together until slight brown and then put the asparagus in there. They will turn a bright green and sautee them until your liking. Some folks like it crunchy in the middle and some like it fully soft.0 -
Milk. It absolutely grosses me out. The way it leaves a film on glass and how it's so thick, ugh. Ew, thinking about it right now is making me gag.0

The food I'm afraid to have around me is pizza. I dont have the control to stop with one piece when there are 7 other pieces just laying there.
The new foods I've tried that I hated were instant oatmeal and marinated tilapia. I'ved tried oatmeal in the past but decided to give it one more go since it's suppose to be filling. I gagged that one bowl down and thought about what a waste of calories for that whole morning. Then on the fish, I love all seafood but not fish unless it is very thin filets deep fried. So I thought I would try baked fish and had heard tilapia. I just couldnt stomach it. The fishy smell killed me and I ate that one filet and gave up.0 -
