The biggest trigger would be my son when he's acting all crazy and frustrating. Also boredom and feeling lonely.
  • Being stressed

    Boredom, & emotions :(
  • For me it's days when I'm home alone with nothing to do but watch the DVR. It puts me in a bummed out mood and I will tend to go to the cabinets. Sometimes I wonder if I don't even know how to relax or something, haha.

**THIS** And my weekend days are wednesday and thursdays so its super bad.

For me it's mostly boredom and stress. I also cook for my family a lot and it's so hard not sneaking in bites while smelling the deliciousness. It doesn't happen when I cook for myself, only when I cook for the family.

getting drunk makes me want to eat horrible (but delicious) foods in excess.

Cold weather and nights in with the boyfriend definitely! I also find that even though I make allowances to give myself extra calories when I exercise - I'm starving after I've done a run.

Definately lack of sleep makes me crave carbs all day long. I also work on a computer all day and i'm not really challenged at my job so I think i'm bored which leads to wanting to eat. Although sometimes like right now, i actually convince myself that i'm starving.. yet I ate lunch around 1:00 and theres no way I should be that hungry.

Hunger usually triggers it for me. Smelling something really yummy cooking will sometimes also do it.

If I am exhausted having spent hours picking up and cleaning and then my family members come in and leave items, food crumbs, pots, glasses, dishes, clothing, coats, backpacks, mail, newspapers, gym bags, sport equipment and such, all within an hour or two of coming home... like I'm their live-in help. That often acts as a trigger for me.

Amen sister! My goodness, I feel the exact same way.

I find watching movies triggers the snack urge, or playing games. Being out of the house automatically equals fast food in my head (working on this one!). I've been trying to have hot tea or celery (sooo sterotypical but I love it!) at night, and not take any cash with me when I go out. If I have to go to the ATM, I have to think about it, and thats normally enough for me to realize that old fast food habit is kicking in.

... a lack of the weight dropping as it supposed to when you putting all your effort.

Me too! I think its not worth the effort... but it is. If I give up, I don't just "not lose" weight... I start gaining it back immediately. I have to get over the pity party and realize it is what it is. :-)
  • Emotions are my trigger, when i'm upset I eat...or ate...I tackled my problems (read as relationship) and that helped get my eating under control. Now my trigger to eat is nourishing my body!

I used to drink alcohol and found that my food choices were poor at best. Since then I've quit drinking entirely, now I make better choices with foods, save the calories I would have had in the alcoholic beverage, and I'm not exhausted the next day so I can work out better. For me, it was worth giving up.

Yes, that happens to me. I found that a HUGE glass of Crystal Light or Sparkling Water with lemon and a little popcorn (not a shared one, but my own bowl so i know how much I've had) works wonders.
