The answer lies within you. If you feed your body the right amount of fuel and stay healthy, then your body will take care of the rest.

I love this perspective! He makes a great point, be healthy let your body pick its shape. Definetly helps me out to think this way when I lose from the top intead of the sides as I mentioned earlier lol.

Well, I've never been super stick skinny. So of course, I wouldn't know if I want to be that or not. Now, whether I would find someone attractive who was "skin and bones" then my answer would be a big fat NO. I personally find curves more appealing and healthier looking, but I have seen some cute skinny girls (but they look like children! You don't wanna look like a kid, do you?). Heh, and I've seen you in person and I think you totally rock the "thin with curves look", September!
Another thing is, when I see pictures of very thin girls, and everyone is saying how beautiful they are, I feel sort of sick. I'm sure they're beautiful, but I just feel like they look sickly and not as attractive as people make them out to be. But if you want to be super stick thin again, I hope you can at least be healthy too. I'm more concerned with your health than your looks at this point :c

I am also 18 so in way of a guy's perspective, all I can say is I don't really feel weight matters within a relationship. As long as you like the person, it shouldn't really matter what she/he looks like. I just think the girl needs to be happy within herself, not worry too much about what the guy thinks. Unfortunately, some people can be very picky nowadays especially over trivial issues such as this. I don't think you have anything to worry about :) So to sum up, my answer would be neither!! :)

I consider myself slender AND curvy, and I'm only 2# less than you, but three inches shorter.

135# at 5'8 sounds quite small. If you're not happy with your body shape now, it's more a matter of gaining muscle than losing pounds.

I would say that I prefer being confident - whether it is slim or curvy it is important to be happy in your own skin. Once you are, you will notice that you get the positive attention from others that you are looking for. I also took a glance at your diary and I would say that you really want to focus on giving your body enough energy and taking care of yourself - I wish you well. :flowerforyou:

don't be embarassed girl....when i was your age, i had a journal of 'thinspiration' pictures..we all go through that feeling at one point or another (or at least some of us!!)

i personally think curvy is wonderful and that's what i'm aiming for...but it really does depend on your body shape, build, bone structure and all that good stuff. and of course, how you feel comfortable :)

I have a whole folder and huge thread dedicated to "fitspiration" :D

Personally when people say curvy I think they mean have a little extra vat. I dont think to me it is skinny vs curvey. Its unhealthy vs fit. You can be fit, lean, and athletic but still have a nice eound curvy butt, strong thighs, and some boobs. Fit vs curvy any day.

Definitely depends on your definition of "curvy" - everyone has a different view of what is curvy and what is skinny. Even when I'm at my lowest weight, I am still "curvy". I have 40" hips and a 38" bust no matter what I do [even when hips are down to being bony and very visible - I have a large frame. Bust will never change...I've had surgery]

So you can definitely be both, depending on how you're built. If you naturally already have the body for curves [hourglass figure], it is more likely you'll have curves even if you're thinner.

I prefer tight and curvy. :)

I feel sexier with my curves. My man loves them. I wouldn't want to be a bag of bones.

Thats really the truth of it, healthy vs. EVERYTHING ELSE, it took a long time for me to get back into that way of thinking after ruining myself a little bit over trying to be sticks and bones. Trying to get to that point where I'm both healthy and comfy with myself so if I eat a homemade rice krispie treat or go to town on some of mom's rice pudding, I'm not thinking about how it'll look on my waistline or thighs later, that whole, "a treat for the lips is a sin for the hips," or "you are what you eat," ways of thinking, knowing that you can eat icecream and NOT become a hippo next morning- but sometimes you feel like that, ya know, its all part of the journey!

It'd be a lot easier having somebody to please, knowing what they want and keeping myself that way, haha, not at all in a negative way! Being single/having nobody interested in me, leaves me just running on my own track, its easier when you're trying to please someone, you know what marks you're trying to hit!

I'm just a bit concerned about your wish list on your profile. "be able to get your thumb and finger in a circle all the way up your arm" !!!!?????? Steady on, there'd be nothing but bone!

Oh trust me I struggled with that for a VERY long time! In fact my nickname is Heepo xD

There is just a point you reach i think, where you are starting to feel confident, not completely happy, but feeling good. Then you start to have little treats and still feel great! Took me months of work, but I finally am at that point. I found a few inspirational athletic pictures, train hard, eat healthy most of the time and it really will help :D

After about a month of very good eating, I start to have a treat every couple of days that fits into my macros and no more guilt :D

Do you happen to have a picture of what you are aiming for, or what you find "sexy"?
Some of these kind of posts confuse me xD When I think curvy and voluptuous, I think overweight honestly

I think it is all about being HEALTHY, regardless of your weight, but I do have to say that 5'8" tall and 100 pounds sounds extremely unhealthy.

Whew! Yea I saw this, the thigh gap I understand as many people want that. But the arm thing is a bit crazy girl! I have lean arms, but cant get my finger and thumb past 3 inches of my forearm xD

Aww, Heepo, thats a cute pet name cx

I try to leave my induldging to homemade desserts or when we go to the movies, butterless popcorn, I honestly sometimes eat a whole bag, but its soooo gooood and the no-butter cuts out a lot of the fat, so I just call it a carb day and go with it c: I love peanutbutter too, thats what helped me gain back a lot of my weight when I got sick from the first run around, when I eat it now I take it for the B vitamins instead of thinking oh wow all this gooey fat thats gonna sit on me later, cus B vitamins are pretty good for you c:

Yeah, I sort of think the same thing, I guess its a thought process then, what curvy is to one person is different to another. I like petite, thats a good adjective, but not as in short, haha I'm more on the tall side, but still somehow being petite as tall as I am, that'd be oool, and I guess thats what I attribute to being petite, thin arms and spaced legs, I'm really self concious of my arms, if there is one thing I could change the most it'd be my arms, I work on them the most at the gym, getting some real good muscle C:

I'm actually working on my nutrition degree and good for you for getting those b vitamins!
What do you have your protein/carb/fat goal set to? That will really help with body composition :D
All about being healthy! Eating enough will prevent "skinny fat" and if you eat right, you can have other wonderful beauty side effects like glowing skin, strong nails, healthy long hair. What I have been working on now :D Just think ultimate goal is to be healthy as possible! To prevent chronic disease, defects, and improve well being, fitness, and beauty :D
