Had a great workout at the gym today...kickboxing class and weights. Tomorrow is Zumba!!
Goals for April, hmm...
Increase my running distance on the treadmill. Currently I am able to do 3.25 miles at 6 mph. Would like to get up to 5 miles. .
Add an extra day or two in the weight room each week.
Hit my gw!!!!!

Your chicken and corn soup sounds so good. Mine sharing your recipe. You have some good goals too. Almost at your new goal weight and you have done so good on your program and your exercise. SO VERRRRRRRRRRRRRY HAPPY FOR YOU.

I am hoping the soup turns out! My neighbor made it the other week and shared some with me. It was delicious, so I asked for the recipe and he told me what went in it, but never wrote it down, so I am trying to remember it all! :laugh:
Take one large roasting chicken, coat it with Montreal Chicken seasoning, add 1 quart of red. sodium chicken broth and roast at 350 degrees until it is done. Remove skin from chicken and let cool. While it is cooling, peel and dice a few potatoes, put in a large pot. Drain broth off roasting pan into pot and bring to a boil, cook until potatoes are tender. Once chicken is cool enough to handle, shred it and add to pot. Add 2 cans of corn, undrained, to the soup and cook to heat through.
I am not sure about the broth amount! I think some water or extra broth will need to be added. Will check back and let you know!

Thanks Amy, My only concerned is the chicken cook in the broth wouldn't it have a lot of fat in it cook that away.
I believe I would just used chicken breast without the skin. and season it good and roast it. But sound like it would really be good

You are in Sunny California. We have a nice sunny day here in Texas been out planting some veggie seeds: tomatoes, squash both yellow and and green ones. eggplant. cucumbers. Can hardly wait to be able to eat them.

Hey everyone!
Okay, I'm back & fully committed to this chatting thread! Today was good! My coworkers and I went for lunch, but I resisted eating out and ate my spinach salad w/ strawberries and pita w/ hummus. Though I did have some Easter chocolates today & a peep, I still feel pretty good. At the gym I burned about 400 caloriesAnd to finish off the night I had some Japanese noodles with spinach, mushrooms, and some pad thai sauce. I'm STARVING tonight though! So, I just had another pita with a couple spoonfuls of hummus.
What did everyone else eat/do today?0 -

This is my third month on MFP and my fourth month on my weight loss journey.
We're packing to go away for the weekend
we're packing a lot of food so we can stay out of restaurants. I tried on the clothes I need to take along and had a great surprise. I'd bought some smaller pants and when I tried on the black belt that I had, it was too big:bigsmile: and my husband had to punch a new hole.:bigsmile:
I plan my meals the night before, review the plan in the morning, and then stick to the plan. My plan always includes cereal with either soy milk or non fat yogurt at 8:30 PM.....that way I don't get too hungry and fall prey to late night snacking.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
We eat our big meal in the middle of the day. Today we had lean turkey bratwurst, a big salad with tomato, spinach, yellow and red pepper, onion, radish, carrots, and spray dressing, and cauliflower.

Walmart did carry some but have not seen any there in a lon time. Will have to make a trip to Walmart to pick up a thermous jug to make it and then I am on my way.

Hi Its B ,glad to see you on board. and to get to know you. I was trying to post an ulgy dog for mfpme but it didn't work. It did show up on my regular E-mail, I was sending a friend an E-mail and up it pop. So I sent it to her. She is a .MFP and is Station overseas in the service. I met her thru here at MFP and we became friends. She was shipped out last month and says except for the war zone it is quite pretty there.

my best guy friend in the whole world is in the marine corps and got sent over to Afghanistan in January. We literally refer to each other as brother and sister.
