    Good evening TLLML!
    How's everyone's day going? Well, today I did help myself to some easter office chocolate & black licorice that my mom sent me :noway: no regrets since it's not an everyday occurance, but I sure did eat a lot of it!

    My boyfriend left to Aruba for a family vacation today so I decided to treat myself since he was away!! I've been going to a dermatologist for the past few weeks & had a skin peel today. Then I followed up with a spur of the moment new haircut! I got a all new do' and let him do whatever he wanted! It felt great and I feel like it's perfect! Yah! I figured since my guy is away for a couple weeks that i'm going to try and make it to the gym everyday & pamper myself and have a better look for when he gets back!

    What's everyone having/had for dinner tonight? I think after my cheating today I'm feeling a little full. If anything I'll end up having some hummus on wasa crackers or something light along those lines.

    Hi artschoolgirl I had a bowl of turkey chili . Pretty good. I have never try hummus Heard so much about it here on MFP I am going to have to try it I am going to make some greek yogurt tonight, homemade. And I never made it before It sounds pretty simple. Do you make your own hummus?

    Have a good night

    Hey Caliecat

    No, I don't make my own, but i'm just getting in to it & hope to try soon! I found I was eating way too much peanut butter because of it's convinience so this week i bought a thing of hummus instead & feel soooo much better! It's a great substitute for my salt and sweet cravings & is also very satisfying!

    Have a great night!!

    artschoolgirl Posts: 598 Member
    It has about 50 calories per tablespoon. I love a couple of tablespoons, which is quite a lot and more than enough, of it on pita bread mmmmmmmmmmmmm....that with a nice spinach salad is such a perfect meal!! I think I'm on a pita/spinach/hummus kick all this week! My favorite sandwich right now is stuffing a pita with lots of spinach, some dried cranberries, sliced portobello mushrooms tossed in a little soy sauce, and a little greek/feta dressing drizzled over the top. It's my favorite meal right now!

    Hope everyone had a great day & best of luck for tomorrow!!

    I have a sony ericsson walkman phone that has a pedometer and a fitness application that remembers how many steps, miles, calories per day for about a month----another feature allows you to set it for a workout and it figures steps, distance, calories, speed and then remembers the workout until you delete it. I carry my phone in my pocket all the time so I know how many steps I've walked.----at bedtime, if I haven't reached my goal I sometimes walk or jog up and down the hall until I reach my goal. That works great at home, :bigsmile: but my husband doesn't like it when I jog in the motorhome:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

    We're in a hotel for a long weekend
    no dogs and cats to hog the bed.:smile::bigsmile:

    we brought our own food so between that and Subway we should stay within our calories all weekend.:bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile:

    Good morning barbiecat, So nice of you to take time out to comy by and see all of us.
    I bet your animals are missing you. Have a good time. Sounds great that you have your meals all under control. Which remind me when I was a much younger chick in 1969 I was within 5 lbs of my goal for WW and we went on a trip to visit Jerry folks in Ill. When we got there I went out and bought all of my food at the grocer store to have to eat. It was a much stricker diet than what they have now. Anyway to make a long story short When we got back to Texas and I had my WI and had lost the 5 lbs and reach my goal. I was so happy---so happy. Went out and had a Big Hamburger First one in over 6 months. Did it ever taste good. Slowly over the years I have regain all +more

    Have a good tyime. Caliecat

    I need to learn how to cook! lol

    So sick of lean cuisines every day. :laugh: The sweet and sour chicken is good.... but ugh!

    I also need to keep myself off the scale every day; that's the hardest thing for me. Gained a pound... but I think it's muscle after all the weights I've lifted lately. Anyone know a good way to keep OFF the scale except for once a week?

    Hey that liquarice is terrible. But I'm not big on candy. The carbs is my enemy. I did like the hummus. I got the roasted peppers very good. My cantalope was very hard no good at all. Now I don't know how to add it in my food chart. I think I will just add 1/2 of it for all I ate was
    the center where it was a little softer.The rest of it has gone in the garbage. I bought 2 so don't know what to do with other one. I guess cut it up and see how it is. It will probale go in the garbage too.
    mfpme what's core secret or do I want to know?
    see you later young'ers

    Hello all you motivated MFP Master List pals:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

    The thing that changed my eating the most was this information about clean eating. I found it on MFP on a thread for the clean eating club. this is the eating I aspire to. I'm not there yet, but this is where I'm going

    What is clean eating?

    In a nutshell, eating clean is the practice of eating whole, natural foods. These include fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates. It also means staying away from the junk that typically makes up the Standard American Diet (SAD). These types of foods include man-made sugar, bad fats (hydrogenated and trans-fat), preservatives, white bread, artificial sweeteners, and any other ingredients that are unnecessary. An easy way to remember whether a food is clean is by asking: Is this food recognizable as something that came off a tree or out of the ground? If not, most likely it's not natural! The goal is to always read ingredients and buy foods with as few as possible.

    Anyone who wants to eat cleaner can develop some or all of the following habits:

    * Eating 5 to 6 small meals per day
    * Eating every 2 to 3 hours
    * Combining lean proteins with complex carbohydrates at every meal
    * Never skipping a meal, especially breakfast
    * Eating whole foods
    * Eating healthy fats
    * Drinking lots of water
    * Eliminating refined sugar and processed foods
    * Eliminating alcoholic beverages (another kind of sugar)
    * Carrying a supply of healthy foods, or having an eating plan when away from home
    * Making healthy choices when dining out
    * Sticking to reasonable portion sizes at all times
    * And exercising for both fat loss and muscle gain (cardio and strength training)
    :drinker: :heart: :love: :bigsmile: :drinker:

    I went to the health club next to the hotel (hotel guests get in free) and tried the stair master, the elliptical machine and a class that was part yoga, part pilates, with great music, then I walked to WalMart and didn't buy anything.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

    for lunch in our room I made a salad with canned 98% fat free turkey breast, canned asparagus, and sliced tomato. those are the last of the canned foods we own......the sodium in canned foods is just too much for me.

    My usual exercise at home;
    *walking the dogs (standard poodles)
    *taking the dogs to the dog park and walking briskly for 20-60 minutes while the dogs run
    *two hour line dance classes three days a week
    *stationery bike in front of the TV, one or more 20-40 minute sessions per day
    *strength training using the 5 pound weights I leave on my dining room table to remind me
    *jumping to conclusion:laugh:

    thanks to all of you for the laughter and inspiration you provide:bigsmile: :flowerforyou:

    :glasses: :glasses: Put on sunglasses shadowpaws so you can't see the pizza!! ooh, yeah, that would be very tempting. I agree. Well, just log the cals and see. Drink a glass of very cold water first. Try that.

    Barbiecat, I have the book and the cookbook on clean eating. A wonderful way to go. Need to get them out and look it over again. You are truly an inspiration to us all. You will never know how much you have inspire me here and on the Seniors club. Is the clean eating still active? I haven't seen them around lately. Caliecat

    Shadowpaws----can you eat a big salad first so you can be happy with only one piece of pizza? Can you run away from home for a few hours til the pizza is gone.

    Good luck:drinker:

    Actually, the cals didn't turn out too terrible. I'd only eaten like 600 today, and two slices plus a breadstick came to only 600 cals.

    Actually, it'll help me not come up short today. :smile: I'll splurge this time.

    good it was still within your cals! Ok, take off those :glasses: sunglasses now!

    folks, tty all tonight. Much later.

    Would you guys do me a favor. Hop over to TLLML and CWGWML and keep an eye out for new potential members on TLLML/TOTAL LBS MASTER LIST and CWGWML and answer questions if they're confused :noway: as to how to join!

    I know it's a lot to read, my intructions so it does get confusing sometimes.

    Tks. :heart: :heart:
