Do you use MFP to plan your day?

I'm noticing that a majority of people here do and those that show their weight/goal trackers appear to be well into the double digits worth of loss.
Maybe there's something to it?0 -
....I have a tendency to skip meals and by me posting it there, my boyfriend will check in with me randomly and ask "how was your smoothie this morning?" or "Dont forget to take your Salmon pita for lunch!".....
Salmon pita? Tell me more of these things.0 -
YES, because it helps my stay under my net and not over. I add and subtract until I get the closest thing to my target and then I know exactly what I can eat.0
-
Yes! After leaving the site, experiencing some weight creep (up, of course :noway:) even while still exercising, I've realized I haven't learned enough to intuitively eat and not-log.
I do a rough draft in the morning and then I correct it at the end of the day, particularly if I am eating dinner out at a restaurant or at a friend's house, etc. My diary is closed for this reason b/c it is a little Jeckyll-Hyde and changes from 'good intentions' to 'what I actually ate' :blushing:
My food choices aren't any worse than anybody elses (okay else's? punctuation nazis?) - just more prolific! :laugh:0 -
If I don't plan, you can almost guarantee there is going to do be some high sugar/calorie item on my food tracker that was not meant to me. I like to do it in the morning before I get started working.0
-
Yup... I plan out my food diary each morning. It helps me to stick to a plan that has been working great for me!
I do this, or even the night before. It also acts like a food prep 'to-do' list.0 -
I don't use MFP, but during the week, I prep most of my food for the next day (post-gym snack, lunch, afternoon snacks) so that I can take it with me to work. I regularly supplement with additional food, particularly if I haven't brought enough food. This works pretty well for me. Also, since my eating habits are pretty consistent, even though I don't enter things in MFP until I am about to, or have eaten them, I know about how many calories are in my typical foods.0
-
Yep! I record it all while doing my morning business :P
Allows me to know how much I've got for dinner and plan ahead so I dont freak out when it gets there0 -

Am I just a bit OCD, or does anyone else plan their eating at the beginning of the day?
I am also diagnosed OCD. And yes, I plan my day using MFP.
It keeps me accountable, so I have to think through every bite. It's not like I can just nonchalantly pick up a piece of chocolate or eat some chips without me realizing that I'm going to go over my calories for the day.
I leave enough leeway in there so that I can add a few veggies or a fruit so if I must snack, it's healthy and I won't go over.
You are NOT alone0 -
I ALWAYS pre-log my food. If I log it all in the am, it helps to keep me on track! :drinker:0
-
I ALWAYS plan my day out in advance! I thought I was the only one! I'm OCD as well and have trouble if I don't plan my day, I'm so bad, I already have my father in laws surprise birthday next Saturday planned into my journal! I find if I don't stick to my plan, it makes my day get all out of whack.0
-
I do it... it is really the only way to stay on track for the day and include everything that you really want to.
And just to make everyone feel better... I am not OCD! :happy:0 -

I plan and execute LOL. Actually I plan and check and plan and execute :-)0 -
Every morning before I eat breakfast. I plan the whole days meals. That way I can go back and tweek calories up or down.0
-
I do too. Sometimes I even enter dinners a day in advance I always start by adding dinner, then plan the rest of the day around that. Love that feature on MFP!0
-
I log everything in the morning to keep myself in check.0
-
Yes I typically plug in everything the day before or the morning of. It helps me stick to my goals and makes me accountable for what I put in my body. I think it helps me focus on my final goal.

Send me a message. I want the recipe too please.0 -
I am OCD diagnosed, but yes, I do. Mostly because if I dont, I will eat what-the-heck-ever I want.
Without being diagnosed with OCD, I agree! LOL I fill my food tracker in first thing in the morning and I stick to it!

Especially for my Fridays.
Every Friday evening my girlfriend and I enjoy a bottle of red wine while watching a movie at home.
I plan my meals to compensate for the calories I need for the wine.
Cheers!0 -
yes, i do. i find it's especially crucial on my twelve-hour work days to plan dinner ahead of time. when i come home at 9/10 p.m. i'm @(#$*(#$*%-ing ravenous (even though i take snacks with me) and the chances of faceplanting into the fridge/pantry and mindlessly grabbing at cookies/cake/whatever to squash hunger pangs is almost inevitable. if i have a game plan, i'm so much more likely to stick with it.0

I DO! it is only 11:00 am here... and my log is done for the day! I try to plan out all my meals and snacks! I even started logging today's food yesterday!! It is alot easier to keep track of stuff when you think ahead!0
-
I usually do my the night before so I know what to make for the next day!! Makes it so much easier!0
-
I plan my meals the night before. That way I already know what I'm having and estimate how much I need to eat because of the calories I plan to burn.0
-
I always plan the night before. Helps keep me on track and I can plan for my snacks in between.0
