No! as and when I eat, exercise etc. Would be too much of a headache for me to log before hand!

Yep! I plan as much as I can and then tweak it throughout the day with the amount or whatever other changes I actually eat. It gives me a better idea on what room I have for snacks/portions.

I plan my food at the beginning of the day, but most times I plan it the night before, it helps me keep my day in order.

HAHA. I plan it the night before...sometimes a couple of days in advance.

    Yes and No.
I have pretty much the same rotating items for breakfast and lunch during the week, so I know generally what that calorie counts will be. Dinner is a another story. I am not very good at the planning of dinner, school functions, work functions, working late or working out late. I have a rough estimate of the usual stuff we have, and if we do go out I try and see calories before I go to make sure I stay in line.

I often do, meaning most of the time except some weekends when I have no idea what the heck I'm going to be doing. It's actually highly recommended by most dieticians that you plan your eating either at the start of the day or the night before.

    All the time!
  • I log my food in at the beginning of the day. My breakfasts and lunches are usually similar day to day, but dinners I like to plan out so I know what snacks will "fit". I also will do different workouts depending on how many calories I have left (so there is still a deficit within my range). I am a planner by nature, so this totally works for me. My husband puts his food in after the day is done and is usually surprised at how much he is over LOL. But he doesn't need to lose much, he is on here to support me. It is good to notice the different kind of tracking though.
  • I do. It has really helped!

No I don't, I complete my diary as I finish my meals so I know how I am doing with my calories and macros so I can make adjustment with my dinner or late afternoon snacks.

I may have an idea of what I am going to have for lunch or dinner during the week, but I don't complete the diary in advance because I know that sometimes I make changes at the last time.

I guess that being on maintenance, and already having a pretty good idea of what to eat or not to eat, allows me to be mare flexible. I am OCD enough measuring, weighting my food, being very mindful of my choices, and exercising daily so I don't want to over do it.
  • I input everything, well almost, the night before especially if I know I will be exercising the next day. I like to have an idea of where I am and what little extras I might need to pack to meet my caloric goal. Also it allows me to know if I have any wiggle room if we go out to lunch last minute at work or someone brings in a treat.

I'll enter and then remove my cardio exercise just to give me an idea of what I have to work with and then reenter it when I actually do the exercises. My exercise schedule is extremely consistent. This way when I get home from exercising I'm not eating massive amounts of food right before bed.

i may even be more OCD than you. sometimes i will plan my WEEK out (as much as i possibly can). i put things days in advance.
  • Always! I plan down to condiments and everything. I hate not knowing what I'm going to be able to eat. This way I know exactly what I have and how my day is going to unfold. I went from food planning my day and my mood, to me planning my food and my day.

I enter all of my meals a week in advance. I then do my grocery shopping on the weekend and cook a week's worth of meals on Saturday and Sunday. This way my meal planning stays on track. My breakfast and lunch is quickly packed for work each morning. When I get home at night, all I have to do is take a dish out of the fridge and put it in the microwave to heat. I will make adjustments on MFP if something has changed with what I ate but for the most part I like knowing in advance what I will be eating. Not doing this got me into trouble in the first place.
