So, looks like the only way I am going to drop the last 3 pounds is to eat only grapefruit, take slim shots, dexatrim, alli,AND slim fast shakes!!!
So I am healthier, but I really wanted to at least lose the 10 pounds promised on this thread.
I am not unhappy, or stressing over this. I have actually gone to maintence calories for 2 weeks, with exercise and not eating my addl cals. I think my body was at 1300-1400 for too long. We shall see.

Next time I will read up before blathering about P word when everyone has such serious issues.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
No worries, Jeannie - p-word is haunting me as well - and it is a serious issue.
{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} to all dealing with loved ones in the twilight of their years. Please don't ever apologize for sharing your stories - they are touching and helpful to others who read them - as they are to you when you write them.
We lost my father to Alzheimers and my sister to cancer a few years ago - about a year apart. The hardest part of any of these ****ing diseases (yes, I have a bad attitude about these in particular), is that they take away the independence and dignity of those affected. One leaves your body intact, but slowly destroys your mind - the other slowly destroys your body, but leaves your mind intact. Not sure which is less horrible.
We are now watching my MIL battle stage 4 lung cancer, and concerned that my mother doesn't always know who we are when we call. Just a part of growing older, and a wake up call to do whatever we can now to try to lessen the risks for ourselves and our kids.
One of the reasons I work in medical research - I want to keep this from happening to others as quickly as humanly possible.
Sorry, guess I got chatty too.. Marla started it..

Well week six day 2 c25k done. Man the appetite has been intense lately but I've still stayed within my calories. It's nice to have Marla back home and to have nicky back on-line. Its great that its friday. It's great to be on this team. and it's great to get some sleep.
lol
And....(Beth, I'm not flirting here-- )
I'm glad to see your face back....definitely not into the bear av.
I like to see people's eyes-- they're the windows to the soul. You have good eyes-- keep showin' 'em.
I am working on getting some up to date pics of myself, so I can post. I tend to not like my photo taken - self-image issues leftover from childhood (right Freud??), but will post an update soon.
I'm with you, I feel more connected writing to a face..

FIL has/had multiple myiloma cancer. which is bone cancer. they told him he needed to have stem cell replacement surgery. Hubs family being of catholic faith I didn't know what they would do but I guess when it comes to your own life you will do whatever it takes to save it. He had the surgery and used his own cells (which have a higher rate of working) they told him he would be in the hospital for at least 4 months and then house bound for another 4 months. long story short he came home after 2 and now he can do just about anything. Still has to get all his childhood shots again. Ava has more shots them him but at least he is doing better.
GREAT BIG{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for this sappy punch of friends tonight!0 -

Thanks for sharing Sam - that is why I love medical research so much. 10 years ago - geez even 5 years ago - this would not have been possible. Please God, grant the scientists the intelligence and compassion to produce more therapies like this..

ps, I am off my soap box now, and headed for bed.. Good night friends.0 -
Good morning everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi...and rant a little bit I guess:ohwell: As you guys saw, my weight was strangely ( I say strangely because I ate within my calories while out of town...actually less than my allowed calories most days, and I got plenty of exercise) up by 5.4 lbs the last weigh in. So, and I promise I NEVER do this with the scales lol, I dont get obsessed with weighing everyday...but I weighed myself on Thursday and it said 4 lbs LESS than I turned in for my weigh in the day before...so, curiosity definately aroused now...I weighed again yesterday and I was exactly the weight I had turned in (down 5.8 lbs) the weigh in BEFORE this last one. WTH??? So, what Im thinking is that when I weighed myself while out of town,(2 weigh ins ago now) I was in my nieces bathroom and her floor was pretty uneven/slanted but I found what looked to me like the most level part and I weighed myself.
I guess you all are wondering WHY am I rambling about all this now? Well, its because I had won that weeks weigh in with a 5.8 (I think thats what it was, right Sam?) loss and apparently it was an incorrect reading due to my nieces bathroom floor. SOOO I do believe that Spyguy for real won that week and it feels wrong of me to not let my teammates know what happened with my weigh in. I know that has to be what happened because you dont put on almost 6 lbs in a week while eating correctly and exercising and then turn around and LOSE them all again all within a few days time:grumble: So I apologize, it absolutely wasnt deliberate...and I gracefully hand over that weigh in (week 16 I think it was) victory to Andrew:flowerforyou: My weight is all back on track now so I promise that all my weight turn ins will be accurate
And now my conscious feels clear lol. Sorry for all the rambling, but I had to let you guys know what happened as soon as I had it figured out myself:blushing:
Have a great Sunday everyone:flowerforyou:

Roni - Did Andrew pay you to say that so he could one-up you? :huh:0

What an honorable woman! Roni, you rock.
I can beat you on the weight fluctuation-- ahem.
Easter Sunday 178
Last Sunday 181.5 following a wonderful week of exercise and faithful eating. WTH?
Friday night 189 following a week of NO eating in the hospital.
This morning 178
Excitement being, naturally, I'm still poofed up from IV fluids. So, I'm still sittin' pretty for weight loss when all is said and done.
Feeling better from the neck down, surgery wise. Blood pressure is still giving me fits, and massive headaches. But, as of this minute I'm feeling good so I'm laying down. Sleep hasn't been at all well since the headaches are worse when I lie down.
Okay, now I'm really fed up with this getting old crap. Never minded before, 'cause I never felt old. This is enough, already. :noway:
Blessed day to all, my friends!!0 -

Oh roni- no sweat. Contrary to popular belief winning doesnt matter that much to me. I would love to see you win every week if it means a healthier you! I still think your our week 16 winner and there is nothing you can do to change my mind lol. I'm glad your back to a reliable scale situation though. I am considering rethinking my relationship with the scale. I rely way to heavily on it. lol

:drinker:
My family has threatened to hide the scale from me lol. But honestly, I usually do only weigh my once a week...I just happened to think this past week was "special" circumstances:blushing: Does that still make me obsessed with the scale as I am accused?:laugh:0 -
Roni! I just read your little rant. You're so funny. *hugs* Sorry about the screwed up weigh-in, though! BAH!

Hell-- I'll take it. Gots to be SOMETHING good to come out of last week. :noway:
All right Marla!!:drinker: :drinker: Is there room for anymore passengers on that? Or do you absolutely have to have a surgery ticket?:blushing: I'll take them any way I can get them too:laugh:0 -
When I see the black team all signing up for random surgeries, that's when I think we need to have an intervention.
Marla - that ticker is pretty, lady! I hope it only moves to the right from here on out! YAY!0 -
GO MARLA!!! At least you got a loss out of all that trauma.
Sara, I'm considering a brain transplant, but nothing serious..
Hope all is going well today. Janie0 -
Oh, Janie. Your brain is too good. You keep that brain. You never know whose you're gonna get with those transplants. EEEK! I think we should just stick to like gallbladder, appendix, tonsils, adnoids. That's all stuff we don't need that much. :laugh:0

Greetings my friends-- popping in after submitting my 3pm work.
I have to go return a Redbox DVD my knuckleheads didn't think of returning ALL LAST WEEK. We're up to about $8 at least in fees-- like we can afford it. :grumble:
Hope you're all having a good day-- still can't quite reconcile the woman I see in the mirror-- haven't weighed this little since 1993. Too flippin' cool-- still have some water, I think, from IV hanging about-- so I may have a bit more kick tomorrow-- we'll see.
Appetite has not improved, but I'm still trying to eat so I can ward off feeling dizzy and shaky, which I have, a lot. This is too funny for this woman who NEVER gets sick. I have to laugh.:noway:
Love to all!!!!!!!!!0 -
I get next week's challenge!
Hey, Marla! Isn't it amazing how things like that happen when Mom is out of commission? Silliness. Glad you are feeling great about yourself. Keep working on that appetite!0 -
I get next week's challenge!
Oh, geez. Do we get a hint? :huh:0 -
I get next week's challenge!
Oh, geez. Do we get a hint?
 It'll be more like a homework assignment. Nothing physical. However, I hope you have 20lb dumbells at home. those will come in handy.0 -
I have a 19-pound baby. Does that count? :huh:0
