I had haggis in Edinburgh. And in Beijing- I had ostrich in a hot pot restaurant, and chicken stomach in a wing place.

    Haggis.
Oh, and some clear beverage that looked like a lava lamp with this gross and viscuous yellow substance that was supposed to represent the lava; it was disgusting.

An acorn. In first grade. Wondered why squirrels like them so much. Then a boy dared me too and I did. It was VERY bitter!!

Cow's stomach, alligator, snails, cow brains, pig intestines, snake, squid, octopus, seaweed, pigs feet, chicken feet, head cheese, my mother~in~laws cooking!:drinker:
  • Smashed up grape tomatoes in a large glass of ice cold buttermilk, with a pinch of salt. I started doing that in my first trimester when I was pregnant with my son in 2002 (craving lol)......but I never got over it. To this day I can eat this until my stomach rots......which probably wouldn't take very long.

I don't think I've eaten any REALLY strange things, but some unusual ones are

    Fruitbat
    Crocodile
    Emu
Kangaroo (though that's very mainstream in Australia now)
    Goat
    Eel
    Octopus
    Fish Eyes
    Pickled Herring
    Chicken Feet

Offal and insects are not my thing, other than that I'll give just about anything a go.

    Deep Fried jellyfish. Yuck.
  • So, I'm wondering where each person was when they ate these delicasies.

I had fried scorpion in Cambodia.

Exactly where I had fried scorpion along with Kangaroo oddly enough...Cambodia!

Pigeon was in Indonesia and snake was in Thailand:)
  • Goat testicals.

    Really squishy.

They literally explode in your mouth when you finally manage to bite into them.

Next trip overseas, I'm sticking to snake, beetles and rice.

    :flowerforyou:

    You win. Hands down.

Ostrich croissant sandwich. Yummy! Here in Canada, way up north in a cute little coffee shop, just west of the end of the earth.
    Shark. Also yummy! In Brazil.
Thankfully, was not offered duck blood soup. A Brazilian favorite, apparently.

    Snake- tastes like chicken
    Alligator- See above
Moose- tastes like really dry, tough, deer meat, terrible.
