May 1 in BC now too. Do you set goals for the month?
I hope to lose 5 lbs.
Hope to get the RV on the road soon. Isn't spring wonderful? It's motivation in itself, at least for me.

    Happy May Day!!

Finally we have some sunshine!!! :flowerforyou:

Thanks for the new board Marie, you are such a good leader.

After all my complaining I lost another pound. :blushing: I hope it holds but I was so excited that I posted it. Maybe it will keep me motivated to do more. :glasses:

Have fun on your road trip Barb and Jake, drive safely and keep healthy.

Good morning Ellen, I set my goal for total weight loss, but you can do it anyway you like. Maybe you, Barb and Jake will see each other on the road.

I think I will try for 30 minutes on elliptical and 30 minutes of yoga today. I have been drinking more water which I think is a big part of losing weight. :drinker:

Really liking your picture BGamma, you look so thin. What a great job you did in losing all that weight.

Hi to everyone else and hope your day is wonderful. Keep healthy and keep smiling.

Must not have been a pound since it didn't show on my ticker board. But instead of 136.6 on my scale it said 135.6. Oh well, this site keeps me honest. :ohwell:

I am doing fine on my South beach diet. This week I am cutting out all that artifical sugar from my diet.

hi friends! glad i found you here today!

Barbiecat - you are my hero - TEN pounds in 1 month?!?!?!? That's AWESOME!

Oh boy Marie - can't wait to hear about you crusing around on your tryke! Does it have a basket so you can carry stuff????? When i rode my bike a lot i always had saddle bags packed with stuff.

Sandy - you did SO lose a pound. I don't know what's up with that silly ticker. I wouldn't worry about the steak either - it's not like you deliberately went and ate a big old banana split or something. I mean, c'MON - it's steak!!!!!!:noway:

My scale has me down a pound this morning so i'm pretty happy about that.

I can't remember who asked - Barbie? But yes - we are wiring again all this weekend and probably next as well. THEN the trades guys can come back in and insulate, drywall, etc.......SO much work!

Beth! How's it going with the hula hoop? Were your obliques sore the first time?

I'm going to try and check in over the weekend - maybe another time today. The weekends are always my downfall - especially with the work crews - i always have to get pizza or something.......maybe we'll do subway this weekend.

My goals for May - lose 2 pounds. Work out 5 days a week, walk the dogs 5 times a week, and just ONE small snack after dinner!

HAPPY MAY:flowerforyou:  I turn 57 this month! When do i start feeling like a grown up?????

We are all just a bunch of kids.

Jerry is putting my trike together. and it looks just like a big tricycle. can harly wait to ride it and see how my legs old out. Right now they are giving me a fit.

I have started posting on A South beach diet thread. It is called Down 12 lbs South Beach Diet Rocks.
Started by rmchan. It is getting quite interesting. I am cutting down on this fake sugar. I will still used Stevia occaioally but not as much as I used to. That mean cutting out all diet pepsi [ which I have aleady } SF jello and Sf pudding and cool whip. and all pre sweeten tea. Lots of lean meat, veggies, Plain yogurt.

For lunch I had Homemade Chili and beans, asparagus, slice tomatoes. greek yogurt, 1 pfg. of silvia
    Pretty nice lunch.
    Sanck -- string cheese
For supper I will have lemon pepper grilled chicken, aspaaragus. Salad big one.
Snack---Hummis spread over a bibb lettuce
:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: And lots of it.

Hi everyone! We have spring in Saskatchewan! They tell us the temps will be in to the 70's in the next few days. The sun is shining and there is some wind, of course! I recorded my WI today as Friday is the best day for me to do that. It has been only 4 days on my program but I am down 2 pounds! Gotta love this plan. I know it was the snacks that were doing me in!! This week I had bagels and cream cheese for breakfast a couple of days and cereal the other two, lunches were usually sandwiches and fruit except for me dental work day when I had mac. and cheese. For dinner we just had our usual fare, chili, chicken, pork and last night egg and cheese sandwiches and soup and a piece of fruit. I do drink milk with my evening meal always and sometimes with lunch. I also take calcium and vit. D. Next week I am planning to decrease my single portions a bit as I know they are too large. I also plan to add in a bit of exercise, either some walking or the exercise bike. I should try Neil's trike but I don't think he would be amused!! My neighbour wants to go walking together but I am not sure I can keep her pace and I don't want to slow her down.

Marie-- Way to go on keeping focused on the big prize -- you will, indeed, be a slim Granny. Maybe I will be slim in time to have grandbabies!! I am 59 and no grandbabies in the foreseeable future!!

Phoebe -- How is Jum doing today? I hope his mouth isn't too sore.

Sandy -- I have often wondered when I am going to feel as old as I though my Mom was at my age. Not that she acted old but as young people we see things through a different lens. I hope I can get in as much traveling and bridge playing as my Mom did after she retired! Good job on the one pound loss, no matter what the ticker shows!

elli -- Wow, there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will see your project completed and enjoy living in your wonderful 'new' home.

Barbie--Way to go on the loss. You really are an inspiration. Have a great vacation.

Beth -- I bet all those guys are wanting to use your hula hoop. I used to love that when I was young but now I likely couldn't keep it around my waist. Uh, what waist on might ask!

I hope everyone else is enjoying the weekend.

Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

Hey Gayla... I saw your ticker Oh boy what a good start. I hope mine go down in the morning. at least lose what I gain last week. I am woking on it. Jerry is still fieruing out how to put the trike together.
Walking with your neigber will be a good thing. I bet you will enjoy it. Sammie is my little walking buddie.

Give them kids time. You will have some I am sure. They just want to get their fun time in first before they get settle with kids.

You are doing great and I know you will.

I got busy and didn't make it back to the thread today. Went to wal mart. got a few things, now I have to go back and empty the stuff out to remember what I bought..!! I always check the receipt when I get home.
We got a wedding invitation from my brother's youngest son. They have a website, which is so much fun for the out of town relatives to visit. Lots of pics and info.
So I went to the website, got the registry information and spent a couple of hours browsing the gifts to decide on what to get them. went with a set of flatware and set of napkins.

Marie, I hope you take it easy on your trike and stay on flat ground..you need to build up to it.. maybe go to a park.. we have a nice one, a bike or trike would be great.. I've seen roller skating and skateboards there. Did you get a helmet?
it has rained here today, maybe it will be cool tonight, hope to open the windows again.
Jim's lip looks worse than it is.. but everyone asked him who hit him!! He said he told them I did it..
I'm going to wash my face and crawl under the covers. This will be the last week we have flannel sheets til about November take care
ps Marie, wow, no pepsi? or, for me coke zero? I'd be a basket case!!
Gayla, I put milk in my coffee, I count that as at least two glasses of milk per day, coz I use a lot in it.. and drink a lot of coffee.. I could drink another cup now, but it is kinda late.. ok bye

Marie enjoy the bike, I will soon be reading about the little lady with the bike :)

Gayla- I dont dare tell them I have it...it would make the rounds of the base if I did...my roommate is getting one as well so this could be fun...and I am SORE

As usual I havent made it back to the old post I will do that tonight and catch up with y'all Hope everyone has a great day/morning/ night... heck I am so turned around I dont know what time it is there anymore.

Hi Beth, I see you found us. Glad you are enjoying your hoolahoop. I got my trike and rode it down to the end of our street. But my ankle really did hurt. I guess from poor cicculations and not enought oxgen gettin to my feet. Will try again this morning. I may have to wait until the doc get me fix up.
But here is the good news. I lost 3 lbs. this week. Happy day. this SBD is working.

so good to hear from you. Have a ood night sleep. Talk to you later.

Great Job Marie, 3 pounds in one week!! Hope your ankle gets better so you can ride your trike up and down the streets of Mesquite.

Glad I wasn't with your guys Beth, I probably would have passed out. I do not like blood or guts, that is why I can't watch any scary movies. When my kids needed stitches, I had to leave the room. bawk bawk bawk. Hoola hoop sounds like it is working if you are sore, keep up the good work.

So tell us Phoebe, did you smack Jim? Just kidding, hope his lip is getting better. Have you ever tried the fat free coffee mate for your coffee? Nice gift you are giving your nephew and his wife, they are lucky to have you as their aunt. :flowerforyou:

Bgamma, you are so dedicated to your program. It definitely is paying off, look at how good you look.
 I like to play games on my computer also but haven't had much time lately. I used to play gin online with my ex-mother in law who is 92, but since she moved to Phoenix we stopped.

It is sunny here again and around 60. Think after I exercise I will go do some yard work. You never know in Chicago we could have snow tomorrow. :glasses:

    Have a good Saturday everyone.

Kind of a slow day here today. Had a real nice lunch and will have left overs tonight. where Idon't have to fixed anything. I am weening myself off off fake sugar. This is my second day. I still used 1 pkg. of Stevia in my plain yogurt at night tho.

It is a warm muggy day and a storm is headed our way. It is in Alice neighborhood now. s it is on it way. She lives almost due west of us 50 miles away. We are in a tornado watch. I hate tose things.Their is usally a bad one around Mother Day. It looks bad on radar.

Better get this thing cut down. To be on the safe side.

Hi everyone! The gorgeous sun had me fooled. I took my bedding out to hang on the line and changed my mind after dealing with the very cold wind. I do have my electric blanket in the washer now and I will have to hang it as I don't put it in the dryer. I hope it won't blow away!!

Way to go Marie!! What a great loss. So glad you are liking the new diet plan. I have never been able to eat the fake sugar although I have never tried stevia. The others all leave a very bitter aftertaste so I prefer to do without. Sorry that the trike caused you to have pain. Did Jerry give it a try?

Phoebe -- I have a nephew's wedding that I will need to buy a gift for as well. Flatware sounds like a great idea. They do have a list of things from sears so will take a look at that as well.

BG -- Are you still using the eliptical? Do you find it easy on your joints? I play scrabble on Facebook. Do you play scrabble? I also spend too much time on Pogo. We love games in this house.

Sandy -- Are you having a quiet weekend at home?

Beth -- Sounds like the injury was painful! Glad he had you to help him out. Are you sore from the hula hoop?

Elli-- I know you are busy at the house today. I hope it goes well.

    Ellen --How is your day?

Barbie and Jake -- Are you off on the holiday yet. Have a great time.

Jeffrey -- I bet you are also enjoying the weekend.

Have a good afternoon. Gayla

Happy Saturday, hope you have all had a good one.
I'm getting my audiobooks together for this weeks trip. I'm trying something new,for me, burning an audiobook to blank cds. It is a book I wanted, and for some kind of licensing reasons, some audiobooks cannot be transferred to portable audio players. Some of them can only be played on your computer.. not good for me at all.. but there are plenty of books available to me.. these are the books from a local library... the Free books, I should add, and that is really why I want them!!

Yes Sandy, I smacked him in my dreams anyway!! he says I talk in my sleep, so I wouldn't be surprised if I start swinging!!
My nephew and his fiance have a Lot of registered items.
We are leaving tonight, so I am getting laundry done, and these books, then fix something for dinner, stir fry/steam maybe.
We are going to Portland Or.
Beth, that is funny about the guys being wimpy over there. Of course, I would be wimpy myself in their place.. you know what is really funny.. we never felt SORE from using a hula hoop all those years ago!!
These days, I'm sore just thinking about hula hooping.
Marie, wrap your ankle.. if it is too sore to pedal, then wait til the doctor gives you clearance, you don't want to be all hobbly(?) Hope you aren't in very bad weather.. we have had plenty of rain today.
everyone have a great week, take care,

Hi PHoebe----Yes plenty of rain and wind. It even got the Dallas Cowboys training camp. they said 10 was injured. It is still on the news. It seems like there is just one storm after another. My ankles are ok They just couldn't get any oxgen pedaling. And hurt like the ****ens. So I think I better wait till the doctor do what he wants to do. I have had this type of pain walking uphill or downhill. before. Sammy and I had a little walk before the storms hit. I am going to stick with my walker for the time being.

So you are off again. That much be nice to get your books on audio. Have something to do while you are doing all that driving.

I lke that joke you sent me by E-mail. I sent it to my son.

Have a safe trip. I will try to lose some more weiht while you are gone.

Started out day after eating breakfast doing 30 minutes on my elliptical and then 30 minutes on my stationary bike. I managed to burn 265 calories and still have 310 calories left. I don't think I will be eating any more tonight since it getting near bedtime. I did a lot today trying to get ready for my Minnesota trip on Monday, washed clothes, paid bills, straightened the house and now just watching some TV.

Marie, your weather sounds terrible, I hope you stay safe and dry. If you are having trouble with circulation it would probably be better for you to wait and see what your doctor says about your ankle.

Phoebe have a great trip to Portland, Oregon and while your there go say hello to my son. The audio books are a great idea, just pay attention to the road while you are driving. I am with you on the hoola hoop, I did great as a kid, but I can't keep it on my hips now that I am older which doesn't make sense since my hips are bigger.

Gayla, I am home this weekend but it is never quiet. Last night my daughter in law had a purse/jewelry/clothing party for her favorite charity. Today I explained above and tomorrow we will go to my step sons for dinner where we go every Sunday that I am available. Monday I leave for Minnesota until next Saturday. I will still be checking in though since she has a computer.
I also love to hang clothes outside, I love the smell of the fresh air on my clothes especially the sheets.
Hope Neil foot is getting better.

Hope everyone else is doing ok this evening. Know they are all busy or having fun which is a great thing.

Talk to you in the morning.

Happy Saturday to all you motivated, focused, pals,:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

We are almost all packed. I had a meeting to go to all morning and another all day tomorrow so I had to get a lot done this afternoon. I managed to get to the dog park for an hour in the wind just before it rained. I just got off the exercise bike.

Marie----I am so excited about your trike. You will turn heads as you pedal down the street. You will also turn heads with how slim you’ll get with all the exercise and healthy eating. I hope you like “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” as much as I do. It will be harder to do it when we’re traveling because I can’t do that much jumping and bouncing in the motorhome. We gave up artificial sweeteners in January. That fits in with clean eating. Congrats on losing three pounds

Elli----I know what you mean about getting food for the workers. When we had the girls over to groom the dogs we always had bagels and cream cheese and nuts and pop for them. When we changed our eating we told them that they’d have to bring their own food and beverages because we wouldn’t be buying that kind of stuff anymore. So now they bring their own food and we pay them extra because there’s no food. I don’t think you can do that with your work crew. Subway is a great idea. Jake and I had 12 inch veggie sandwiches and without cheese, mayo, and sweet dressings, they were about 400 calories.

Gayla----congrats on your two pound loss. Remember that the longest journey starts with a single step. Speaking of steps, enjoy your walking. That’s the best exercise there is.

Biggramma----keep playing those games and don’t be like my 84 year old friend who spends a lot of money betting on the horses and says that it is a good thing because it keeps her mind sharp.

Phoebe----Jake used to drink 6-10 cans of Diet Pepsi every day. When he started the Isagenix program he gave up Diet Pepsi and coffee and says he doesn’t miss either one.

Beth----those guys are sure lucky to have you. I would not have been very useful. I can’t stand the sight of blood. I bet everyone would love to see you with your hula hoop after you practice a bit and get really adept.

Sandy----your weather sounds like ours---summer one day, howling winds and rain the next. Yard work sounds great. We have a newly reseeded lawn so we can’t walk on it to get to the flower beds and since we’re going to be gone so much we really don’t want to plant anything that needs care. Have a great trip to Minnesota.

I’ll be away from home from 7AM until late afternoon so I’ll miss being in touch with you. I’ll try to check in again before we leave on Monday morning

    Big hugs,

What a beautiful day we are having, sunny and warm, in the 70's, thank you God. :flowerforyou:

My son was just here to help organize my yard, we have lots of garden statues ie planters and he put them all in place for us. I usually don't plant until May 30 because I don't trust our weather. :grumble:
We also have a fountain in the middle of the yard which I will get going when I come back from Minneosta. :glasses:

I am going downstairs shortly to do my elliptical and the bike. I need extra calories today since we are going to dinner at my step sons. :drinker:

I do have to pack and get ready for my trip in the morning, but that shouldn't take me long. I hate leaving my husband alone but he won't come with me, he just hate to travel. :explode:

Hope all of you are having as beautiful day as we are, sunny days make sunny people.
