    Good Morning Friends!!

It is a sunny day outside in Chaska Minnesota and inside well that is a different matter. :explode: These grandsons are 12 and 10 and boy do they argue. The 12 year old in my opinion has some anger control problems and has burst of tantrums like you wouldn't believe. I know they get disciplined by their parents so I am not sure what the problem is. Sorry to vent, but it calms me down so I don't become the mean old grandma. Supposed to take them some place fun today but I did tell them they blew it. I know I will change my mind so one should really not threaten anything unless they follow through. Maybe I am just getting to old to watch kids.

Made the boys some of my famous crepe pancakes, one said he didn't like them the other ate quite a few. I ate two myself with a little, very little organic syrup. I still managed to stay under 300 calories for breakfast. Now I am going downstairs to do another bout of Wii arobics as a guest, which will probably exhaust me again.

Thanks for being my sounding board while I am here, and I hope everyone has a great, great day!!

Sandy- Try the lo-cal Tequilla! LOL Works for me!

Marie, Thanks for your inquiry. I am doing well, lost 2 lbs last week so it is a new beginning. That makes 42 and 73 to go. Little by little.
Trust all goes well with your stress test tomorrow. Will be praying for you.

Jeffrey, I see you are well on your way to goal. What is a little landscaping washout compared to that?

Sandy, You don't have far to go at all! I'll be glad when I am that close. Enjoy those GRANDkids.

    Have a good day everyone.

Good evening...It is very breezy in California tonight...and it is sure causing problems with the fires in Santa Barbara.....I hope that Barbie is not in that area.......

Marie no Barbie is not close to where I live...she is going along the coast line...I live in the valley in Central California....

Also good job getting in those pants...I know that makes you very happy.....

I need to go through my closet....and get rid of my big clothes so I won't be tempted to gain the weight back....because I would not be able to afford to replace them..lol...

I have not weighed in a couple of weeks..because I feel ok...my clothes still feel ok...but I guess I will bite the bullet on Monday and do it...maybe...

Went shopping this morning and got some grapes on sale for 89 cents a pound..so a bought a lot of them and have washed them..taken them off the stem...put them in snack size bags...and put them in the freezer...I love them as a refreshing snack....

Hope you all are having a good week....:flowerforyou:

Popping in to say hi and let you know I am thinking about you. The program I work with is putting on a large conference on autism this week. I had to be there at 6:45 am today and ended the day with my dentist appt. Back to the conference tomorrow and FRIDAY!! It will be a short weekend for me but will be off the following week. I will be back to post Saturday or perhaps Friday evening.
I did very well with NoS at the conference until afternoon and then I indulged in a very small piece of carrot cake. I was mad at myself but it is over and tomorrow is another day. We don't always make sensible decisions when we are sleep deprived!! I am glad that I hadn't made a dessert last Sunday, makes me feel not so bad.
Thanks for the comments about my garden beds, hopefully they will be planted in a couple of weeks.

Take care everyone, back atcha in a few days. Gayla

It's late so this will be quick.

No exercise today except dog walking. We drove 250 miles and are now in Red Bluff, California where it is not raining

We told our friends what we could eat for dinner so they grilled chicken breasts and made salad and we brought squash, onions, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes to cut up and broil. It was dinner at our house (they also had potatoes and bread but we didn't eat any)

Jake is still eating the same as before even though he reached his goal. We'll see if he fades away to nothing.

get rid of your big clothes because you're never going to need them again. Stick with us and you'll continue to be your thin self.

Dear everyone! Sorry i've been out of touch:frown: everything is fine - it just seems right now i have no extra minutes during the day - isn't that sillY:noway:

Barbie and Jake - sounds like you guys are doing great - not TOO much driving and lots of visiting! I'm amazed that you're going to stick to your diets even while travelling - you two never cease to amaze me. And yes! Jake is going to fade away!!!!!!!! Don't get TOO skinny Jake! How are the dogs and cats doing on the road?

Hey Gayla - how's Neils toe? Sounds like you're real busy too!

Big Gramma - definitely get RID of those big clothes!!!!! You're never going back there again! You worked too hard to get where you're at! Don't let the scale scare you - it's just a tool.

Hi Phoebe - thanks for asking! Half the time i don't know WHERE i'm at! Lol! I love it when you talk about all the places you are because i've been to them and it always brings back memories! This time of year - well, i guess starting in march when i was getting really tired of snow and ice i used to love running down in GA and TN - everything was turning GREEN already! I spent some time runnig up and down I-5 as well!

Oh Sandy - those boys need to settle down and appreciate their gramma!!!!!!!! It's such a good thing you're doing. I hope today is a calmer day.

Sorry i left some people out. But i better get to work now! Have a great Thursday! elli

    Good Morning All!!

Things are better now with the boys. I sat them down together and talked to them, let them know how important siblings are to each other. Explained a lot of different things to them and ended up asking them to shake hands and apologize to each other. They behaved all day and we will see what happens today. Their older sister who goes to MSU came to dinner with us and it was nice having another adult female.

I have been exercising everyday and I have to say again, when using the WII Coach as a guest she really puts you through an extensive workout. 30 minutes is all I can handle or I wouldn't be able to breathe. :ohwell: I have been watching what I eat, so hopefully when I get on my scale again it will show a loss.

Jake you are going to just disappear if you continue to lose more weight. Are you just waiting for Barb to lose her goal? Your trip sounds wonderful, Oregon is such a beautiful state.

Gayla, you are doing so well don't let that little piece of cake get you down. The teacher who teaches my granddaughter dance has an autistic son and he is such a sweetheart. She, personally blames his baby shots on his autism as a lot of parents do, such as Jenny Mc Carthy. What is your take on that opinion??

Bgamma, I definitely think all those "big" clothes should be given to charity, With all the weight you lost and are still losing, I seriously doubt you will every wear them again. Think positive, that is half the battle.

Ellen, congratulations on the 2 pound weight loss. :flowerforyou: Keep coming back for support and just for good friends. Even if comes off slow, these good people give so much encouragement we always are happy.

Phobe, you are always so kind. I know the boys love me and I love them, I think as we (ME) get a little older our patience is a little thinner. :grumble: The good thing is they always do thank me for taking them places and doing things with them. And when they do listen they do as I ask with no problem.
Do you think maybe I was a little cranky myself? NO, NEVER!!

Jeff, good luck on the job hunting, I pray that you will find something soon. But in the meantime enjoy the good weather, it could have been worse and you could have been let go in the middle of winter. Besides you are working out so hard, that you are going to be like Jake soon and disappear.

Beth, how is that hoola hoop?? Any chance of any pictures?? Hope all is well there.

Elli, where are you? How is the house coming, are you done with the wiring and all the inspections?
Hope you are okay and will be checking in soon.

Marie, hope you had a good nap yesterday. You are the backbone of our group, so you get all the rest you need. When do you go to the doctor again? It is heck to be old and not remember anything.

If I forgot anyone I apologize, I have all the names written down at my house but not at my daughter's.

Talk to you later, keep on trucking, biking, walking, running or whatever keeps you moving.

    JUST FOR LAUGHS!

    Ramblings of an Aging Mind......

I was thinking about how a status symbol of today are those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse. I can't afford one. So, I'm wearing my garage door opener.

I also made a cover for my hearing aid and now I have what they call blue teeth, I think.

You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn't like me anyway.

I was thinking that women should put pictures of missing husbands on beer cans!

I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is 'when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.'

I thought about making a fitness movie for folks my age, and call it 'Pumping Rust'.

I've gotten that dreaded furniture disease. That's when your chest is falling into your drawers!

When people see a cat's litter box, they always say, 'Oh, have you got a cat?' Just once I want to say, 'No, it's for company!'

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency. I think you should write, 'A Good Doctor'!

Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office? What are we supposed to do ... write to these men? Why don't they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so the mailmen could look for them while they deliver the mail? Or better yet, arrest them while they are taking their pictures!

I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older. Then it dawned on me, they were cramming for their finals.

As for me, I'm just hoping God grades on the curve.

hi Sandy - i'm here - just so busy! Thank you for the ramblings - they made me laugh outloud! I'm glad the boys are behaving better! Brothers are so important to each other. I love the closeness between my sons. We got the wiring done enough for the insulators to come insulate! Hopefully that will happen today or tomorrow, then hopefully the insulation inspection 1 day next week, a little more framing and drywall the last 2 weeks of the month. WHEW - THEN we can really get going on some finish work! NEXT week we have walls and wood to wash down, wood to sand, and trim to remove from inside closets in case we need it to put in the addition - we're trying to tie the old part into the new by using old doors and trim........i'm pretty sure i must be insane! When do your daughter and hubby get home?

Jeffrey - did you finish your resume? Did you get any out? 2 of my young friends got laid off this week - one in the oilfield, one a diesel mechanic. So scary.......I'm going to try and find some work on my house for the oilfield kid - he's a carpenter as well.

Phoebe - the more you're talking about your job the more i'm missing it! Especially THIS time of year! When you don't have to think about snow, ice, mountains and (the dreaded) chains!!!!!!!!!

BETH! How are you? Is your waist shrinking from that hoola hoop? My son is doing a mission in Baghdad this week - :frown: i don't like it when he's there. I know he'll be fine.......he won't be able to get online tho so i won't hear from him 'till next week.

Marie - how are you feeling?

Barbie and Jake - where will you be tonight?

    and hugs! elli

Hey Marie - i'm so glad the stress test wasn't as bad as you were thinking it could be! I'm SO hoping for good health things for you. I REALLY want you to be able to ride that tryke around with NO pain! Chronic pain is SO debilitating and depressing. I'm really hoping this will all pay off! I know your weight loss can be nothing other than GREAT for your legs, feet and ankles!

Today my old house is getting insulated! I'm pretty excited about that!!!!!!!!! I have the feeling i could be WARM this winter!

I haven't been doing great with food - i'm still ok with working out - at least with cardio. I've been having a hard time pushing myself to lift - hopefully this will pass! My little lawn tractor got all worked on yesterday - so now i'll be able to start mowing weeds and doing some yard work in between house stuff! Next week we have lots of scrubbing and sanding to do - sorry if i'm repeating myself.

Yeah, Marie, glad the stress test went OK. What a triumph to start wearing smaller clothes.

Sandy - thanks for the humor. How are those boys today?

Hope everyone had a good day.

I had an indoor walk at the mall due to rain. And the calories are under the quota for the day. I've only just passed one week, some of you have gone such a distance and lost so many lbs already. Patience is a virtue that I find hard to grow in obviously. This site is great tho' and I appreciate all the contributions. It does help.

    Talk tomorrow.

    Hi Everyone.

It was a pretty good day with the boys, we went to the Mall of America where they have an indoor amusement park so they were kept pretty busy. Their sister met us there and she and I shopped for a while before the boys got bored. All in all it was a pretty good day. At least no temper tantrums so that was a good thing. One more day and then their parents will be home tomorrow night.

I was so tired this morning that I couldn't get the energy to exercise and then worst then that I ate fast food all day. :explode: However, I had one chicken wrap from Mc Donalds for lunch and for dinner I had a chicken sandwich on a roll from steak and potato, but no cheese or sauce. I stayed under my calories, but I hate eating fast food.

Tomorrow I think I will straighten up my daughter's house and then maybe take the boys to a movie.
Will probably cook tomorrow which will be wheat pasta and low calorie sauce, unless I change my mind and take them out to eat once more. Expensive sitting for these kids, but it is my own fault.
Gave my granddaughter some cash since she is in college and they boys made it impossible for us to shop today.

Picking up my daughter and her husband from the airport tomorrow night and will be home Saturday afternoon. Both me and my husband will be happy about that.

    Good night and sweet dreams.

I am the chatty one this week, because I am not home able to do my regular stuff.

Marie, in reading back on your posts I think I misunderstood the surgery you are talking about as I think others did. It sounds like you are testing to have your legs operated on and not your heart.. Some where along the line I thought you were talking about a stress test for open heart surgery. Now that I read back I know that I am wrong. You were so nonchalant about surgery and hoping it would improve your legs and ankle that I knew I must have been wrong. Only goes to show that we have to read slow to soak in what we are reading. :blushing: So what is your next test?

Today being our last full day before the boys parents get home tonight, will be a cleaning day and if all goes well a movie and maybe dinner. :drinker:

It wasn't as bad as I made it sound it the beginning, once they understood my rules they seemed to listen much better. I love them dearly but will be happy to get home to my husband.

    Happy Friday all!

Sandy - i'm happy for you that the week turned out not as bad as the first day seemed like it could be. I'm glad the boys settled down once they understood your rules! I'm also glad you got to spend some time with them and their older sister as well! They're all lucky to have you! And your daughter and her husband - boy are THEY lucky! I hope someday i'm able to do the same kinds of things for my kids - watch their children so they can go on vacations. Of course, they have to HAVE these imaginary children first! I know my Soldier/son and his wife want to start working on a family as soon as he gets home - sometime in Aug!!!!!! I'm sure hubby will be SO happy to have you home as well. I have the feeling you lost weight this week - even with the fast food........

Marie - when is your surgery??? We need to know so we will all be sending healing thoughts down there to Mesquite! Thanks for the encouragement too.

Ellen - good job for walking in the mall!!!!! I've been doing a quick walk/jog in the mornings with the dogs before work, but if the weather is crappy i just don't go.....today it's windy and cold plus it rained last night so too muddy!

Today they are finishing the insulation on my house! Now i can hardly wait 'till winter to see what kind of a difference it will make in both warmth and propane bills!!!!!!!

Have a happy Friday everyone! elli

    Good Evening Everyone!

Sorry I have been lax in my postings. I have been busy! I have laying a retaining wall, actually 3 of them for my landscape client! LOL I have not missed a workout and I will come back to that! I have been working hard with my wife this week in her training and she has lost 2 pounds! The garden is in and I have done a little more transplanting. I have had a couple of bites on a job but the so far the pay is far too low. I may have to settle later but not right now. The kids are good and Sam will be home tomorrow. I have really taken the workouts to a new level that I did not know I had. I am really down again in weight but I am not going to post it until I am sure it is not just all water. And I have not forgotten the pics but I have been working on the landscaping job while the weather is good. I should be done in about 3 more days and I am working all day tomorrow.

Marie- I still have all my "too big" clothes. 40 shirts, 22 suits, 15 pairs of shorts, 15 sweaters, 35 pairs of slacks. Really! I am a clothes horse! I have virtually nothing left! LOL I will shop when I go back to work. I still have one suit that is wearable. I hope all goes well with your hospital visit. I will be thinking of you!

Barbie & Jake- Glad you have arrived safely.

Sandy- rest is not far off!

Elli- You are gaining on it! Keep a going!

    Pheobe- Hi there!

Gayla- Please get a little rest!

    Ellen- Keep after it!

    BG- You doing okj?

Beth- Whats with the hoop now?

Sorry if I missed anyone! Have a great weekend! And........

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THAT IT APPLIES TO!

Marie - is the surgery out patient or will you be in the hospital for awhile?

Jeffrey - i don't know how you ever had TIME to work! You do so much! Good Grief - i can't even imagine YOU taking workouts to a new level...........I haven't been making it to yoga for awhile - i miss it, but it may have to wait 'till after the house is done. It involves a minimum of 3 hours becuase the studio is a half hour away from where i live.

Tomorrow i'm going to have a mellow day! I'll work out in the morning, then work in the house - i'd like to do some mowing but it's supposed to rain.......I have people coming at 100 to look at floors, walls and electric.....I'm happy to not have a whole work crew coming for 10 hours!!!!!! Today the rest of the insulation got blown in! I'm pretty happy about that!!!!!!

Have a great friday night everybody! ttys!

Nice to get outdoors again today. Calories in check.
sounds like everyone here is doing pretty well today too.
Mother's Day is a day I'll have to watch it. Barbecue at the lake with a bunch of family members, and loads of food of course.
Strategy - Take a small plate, have lots of salad and veggies, eat slowly, just taste the cake.
What do you think? Will that do it? Combined with extra exercise too maybe
    Talk to you all tomorrow.

    GOOD NIGHT ALL....

I cleaned out my pantry today...and filled two bags to put out for the letter carrier in the morning....as I am sure you know it is......STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE....

It is the perfect time to get rid of some of the things you are trying not to eat any longer....I tossed in canned foods that are high in sodium...also some cookies I bought when great granddaughter was visiting...and we did not open them..so I put them in there....

I hope you all have a wonderful MOTHER'S DAY.....I am going to an early dinner tomorrow (Saturday) with my son and two of my grandsons....We are going to a steak house...I have not had a steak in several years....I do not go out to eat....I am so looking forward to it.....

    Have a wonderful weekend.....:flowerforyou:
