Nice to hear from all of you guys this morning,, Beth, Galya,Ellen and Barbiecat Thank you all for your well wishes.

I am so proud of our guys Thank you both for the PM. And your concern for me. Other than my husband you too are the sweetest guys I know. Thanks so much for caring.

Jerry is getting ready for a yard sale.today. My daughther Kathy will be here to help him. and of course he has Sammy. He is not as good as a yard sale dog as Angel was. . Sammy to afraid to stay out side by his self. Angel would lay out on the bench and let us know if anyone show up.

Well time to get in there and get a bite to eat and a shower. See you guys later.

    Hi All,

Had Marisa all day today and we walked all over, I wouldn't be surprised if we walked 5 miles today. Poor thing little legs were probably so tired. We went to two different parks and then I went to try and find a house someone told me to look at and took the wrong way so we walked way out of our way. The good thing is I gained some calories with all that walking.

Hope everyone is well and I will talk with you tomorrow.

It's a beautiful day today. There was a line dance party this afternoon so I ignored all the weeds in my yard and went to the party. i danced a lot, drank a lot of water, and didn't eat any of the food. when someone asked why I wasn't eating, I told them that I'd had lunch and Jake was going to cook dinner when I got home.(he fixed stir fry chicken with veggies and salad). Someone else admired my will power and i said "Thank you".

:flowerforyou: Beth, the cutie in my picture is 7 1/2 month old Jack, the first child of our daughter and son-in-law. We got to spend a lot of time with him when we were in Eureka, CA on our motorhome trip this month. I won't take my freedom to come and go for granted after hearing that there are restrictions on when you can go outside and hula your hoop.

:flowerforyou: Marie, I hope your yard sale goes well. Our dogs wouldn't stay outside alone, either. If we let them out by themselves they would either get scared and come in the house or chase a bird and get lost and never find their way home.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, you're a great example for Marisa. I think kids have a lot more walking ability than we realize. They get used to being driven everywhere when really they could do a lot more walking.

We've gone through almost all the mail and laundry. The dining room table is still covered with stuff but the piles aren't as tall as they were.

Have a great weekend.

    hugs,

    Good evening All!

Beth- Good to hear from you! Sorry about the hoop! LOL Stay busy and safe! No I did not stop, Day was with me! She fails to see the attraction! LOL

Sandy- Did you guys get any rain? Most of it went around us. Sounds like you got a good work out today!

Ellen- Nice to see your back!

Barbie- Home is nice! glad you and Jake are back safely. Chill out and enjoy the weekend.

Marie- May a rapid healing and recovery find you!

Not a lot to report this evening. I mowed the lawn and done the laundry and pulled a few weeds in the flower beds. More to go! Got a good legs and back workout in and I am sore! I am still doing the P90X. I have completed2 complete cycles and now in the 3rd. I don't know how long I will keep doing it but the weight and the inches are still coming off, but this program is really for someone younger than me but my stuborness would not let me quit and I am glad of it! Day has gone to a woman's retreat tonight that our church has. She will have a good time. They would not let me go! Anyway thats about it for this Friday.

Take time to smell the roses (or whatever else is blooming! LOL)!

Good morning everyone - thought i'd try and a quick post in before i head over to the house to stuff newspapers in places where texture shouldn't get. Then i need to finish mowing (i got a bunch done after work yesterday), weed eating and chain sawing some tree branches.

Beth - you make me smile. That's exactly what my son says when someone tells him thank you - "i'm just doing my job" But we still appreciate ALL of you so much and you make us proud. I hope it won't be too long before you can use the hula hoop again!

Marie - glad you're on the mend!

Gayla - it sounds like although pt HURTS it must be really helping. I'm glad it's available! Hope Neil is doing ok and his spirits are up!

Jeffrey - i'm proud of you that you're staying so motivated and positive. Day is in my thoughts and prayers.

Barbie - Jack is so adorable! I love that name too. That's great that you got to spend time with him. You sound so happy to be home - i agree - there IS no place like home! I notice the older i get the less i want to go anywhere!

Hey Sandy - sounds like a nice weekend with the kids! I hope the little one isn't too wore out from all that walking!

I've been having a tough time you guys - with food AND exercise. I didn't make it to the gym 1 time this week:mad: I've just had stuff to do every afternoon after work and once i'm done - around 6:30, 7:00 i just want to eat supper and kick back. I REALLY don't like going to the gym after that but maybe i need to teach myself to do just that. not sure. I've been logging breakfast and lunch - but then i kind of "fall apart" in the evening. I'm staying right under 120 - but still have those 5 last pounds! I don't know WHY i'm being such a big baby! I sure didn't make my goals for May tho - i was supposed to be down around 117. DARN! I know it's all in my control - i'm just not taking it! OK - sorry to rant!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! elli

Sandy - thank you for looking at the pictures of my house! It's a great old (100 years) farmhouse but since i've lived here (1987) i haven't done much other than windows and siding. So it was due! Also it's about time it got insulation! Anyway - it's funny how you say you envy me having done a lot (which i don't really feel like i've done much.......) as a single mom - i always envy women who can figure out how to make a marriage work!!!!!! that's one i never did quite get a grip on!!!!!! :embarassed: But it's all good - i really do love my life and feel 20 blessed every single day. Hope your weekend is going great! elli

    Happy Saturday,

Gloomy morning with drizzle, they called for nice weekend weather so I am disappointed. :frown:

Elli, it took me a second marriage to get it right and I was a single mom of four kids for 14 years. I struggled during those years although I was "dating" my current husband a year after my divorce. So I know how hard it is and that is why I envy you so much. There is no way I could remodel a house by myself or open new businesses and all the other wonderful things you do with the military etc. So please accept my praise and be proud of yourself for your accomplishments. I am having the same problem as you with losing this last 5 pounds. I think we tend to get a little more lazy with our exercise thinking we are so close where in fact we should be working harder since it is harder to lose the last few pounds. We need to motivate each other so we can reach our goal and then be happy maintaining. Jeffrey, I think you need to kick mine and Elli's butt and get us moving harder.

Marie, hope each day you feel a little stronger, any word on when he wants to do the other leg??

Gayla, hope your back gets better each day, there is nothing worse than a bad back.

Jeffrey, we all want your attitude, you are always so positive. Give Day my regards and good wishes.

Barbie and Jake, home sweet home, I agree it is nice to go away but once home it is wonderful.

Beth, the hoola hoop was working since you lost inches that is wonderful. Can't you do it inside somewhere?

Elli this is our motivation for today, watch our diets and exercise, try for an hour even if it is just walking.
I am going to try to do elliptical and Wii Active. I am determined to lose these last 5 pounds before my Vegas trip in July. I want you to be right there with me pushing me.

Sandy - thank you! I needed that!!!!!! Although i didn't make it to the gym i worked outside from 8 this morning 'till around 5 and then in the house for another hour. So i FEEL like i worked out! I ran the weed eater and the chain saw, and burned tumbleweeds so i walked one pasture back and forth about 30 times........i was too TIRED 2 go to the gym! lol. Maybe i'll make it tomorrow. I have more work in the house tho and a little more mowing and weed eating if it doesn't rain right now..........Well, thank you for all the kudos - i really appreciate it. 5 years ago if someone had told me i was going to be doing this with my house i would have said no way!:noway: but! here i am! It's kind of cool. Did you get your hour exercise in?????? I think you're right - we're getting a little lazy here toward the end......i'm with you tho - i REALLY want to lose this last 5 pounds!

    Marie - here's my house blog - i hope you're feeling well tonight! ellisnewhouse.blogspot.com

OK - i'm pretty sure it's going to rain. I better go close windows!

    Have a great night everyone!

I went to your blog and looked at your pictures----WOW

I've been following your narrative on this thread for months and have had mental pictures of the work you've been doing, but even with all that, I was blown away by the extent of the work you've been doing.

Add giving yourself some pats on the back to your daily exercise. You deserve it.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

awwwww - :embarassed: thanks Barbie - it's a lot of work but so many amazing friends are helping! I just hope i can figure out how to pay it all forward in this lifetime! I'm so grateful.....I really had no idea it was going to be this huge:noway: I probably would not have attempted it if i had! The young couple who are helping me the most - especially the Mom/wife/student/teacher (SHE'S freaking amazing), Jennifer knew that and we just went with "baby steps" It's a process but i know i'm going to love it so much when its done!!!!!! Thank you for looking at the blog! I'll let you guys know when i add slide shows to it.

I hope everyone is well this Sunday morning - it's another beautiful day here - i'm off to finish the weeding eating and mowing that i MOSTLY got done yesterday!

    Take care all! elli

Hey, everybody, We are home, sweet home. Got in about 4 last night. There is no place like home.
It was a good trip, wonderful to be with the grandkiddies, but oh, so good to be home.

Lovely here, everything lush green and blooming. And our wonderful neighbors kept all the plants watered inside and out. My husband is delighted to have fresh green onions ready to eat. Living in a townhouse that is a bit of a rare treat, container grown. And all 3 new roses we put in this spring are doing well.

Now for the mail and bills and laundry, etc, etc. But first church and will be great to see everyone.

You all have a good day.

    Ellen

ps home scales confirming the 2 lbs lost last week. that makes 7 so I am happy about that.

Welcome back Ellen, we missed you but glad you had a wonderful visit with your grandchildren. Congratulations on the weight loss, you should be so proud of yourself. :flowerforyou:

We are going to the racetrack today for family day. I have never been there for family day but I understand there is pony rides and a petting zoo. So the kids should have fun and hopefully the elders will make some winnings.

I am going to work out with my Wii Active to gain some calories and to keep pushing myself. Elli, you do enough with all the field work you are doing so I wouldn't worry about the gym. Make sure you drink plenty of water, it is the best way to lose weight. I don't drink enough of it myself but I am going to try harder in June.

Have a great Sunday everyone, will check in tonight with all my winnings.

It's a beauiful day here. I did a few minutes of weed pulling but now it's time to take the dogs to the dog park and then go do some stuff at the motor home to get ready for the next trip. Jake is having a friend over for a few hours of "boy talk" and I promised to give them some privacy.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Ellen, welcome back from your trip and congratulations on your weight loss. Losing weight on the road is a major accomplishment.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Sandy, enjoy your family day at the races with the kids and stay away from the "fat food" that's bound to be there begging you to eat it.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Elli----keeping yourself so active now will improve your chances of being able to enjoy living in your "new" house for 50 years.

Here's what happened to my May goals:
    lose 4 pounds----yes, I did it:bigsmile:

 walk 10,000 steps a day---I did that all but about two day.

 yoga in the motorhome:sad:  I hardly did that at all so I'll have to try harder on the next trip.

I'll post some new goals for June tomorrow. What goals do the rest of you have ?

    Big hugs,:love::love: :love:

Ellen - congratulations on losing weight while on a trip! You and Barbie both ROCK!

Barbie - i KNOW, i fully plan on living in this house and being well for another 50 years! I think i told you my Mom swore by yoga to keep one young! I still have to pick up that dvd. haven't been to target. I only shop at Home Depot and Lowes anymore!

Sandy - thank you for reminding me about the water - i found myself sucking on the hose while i was burning more weeds this morning! lol:drinker: :drinker:

Now it's raining and i can't work over in my house 'cause they're sanding walls and it's icky dusty over there. I need to get stuff retaped for tomorrow when they start priming for texture! Very exciting!!!!!! Thank you all for going on this journey with me and listening to my constant chatter about the house! You're the best:heart:

I'll set my June goals tomorrow. You all inspire me!

Back from the races, didn't win but really didn't lose that much. My granddaughter picked 3 horses and she won $21 so she was happy. (of course she didn't bet I bet for her) They had boxed lunches so I had a turkey sandwich, with some chips and a diet pepsi. Not too bad, we won't talk about the alcohol drinks, but even those weren't terrible. I still have calories left over for a snack later so I am not complaining. I did manage to to my Wii Active this morning so I am still on track.

Barb, you just keep losing and losing, what a great accomplishment. You are going to catch up to me soon and probably pass me by while I am trying to lose the last 5 or 6 pounds. :glasses:

Going to do some work on my computer now, I really have so many DVD's to make of family pictures and I am so behind.

    Talk to you soon.

Thanks for the reminder about goals, Barbie.

I've been here for just over a month, my goal for the first of June was to be down 5 to 200 and I have passed that at 198. Feels good to be under 200 for the first time in several years.:smile:

Now - goal for June - another 5 lbs to 193. That feels a bit remote right now but it's something to aim for.

If I reach that goal I'll reset my goal for Sept.

    Where are you, Marie?
 Sounds like you are doing well Sandy.
 Elli, I tried to find your blog but obviously not doing something right. tried search on yahoo. looked for it on the blogs here but couldn't find it. What to do now?
 To everyone else, hope you've had a good day, and a good month.

Do we look somewhere else for a new beginning tomorrow?
    Talk to you all later.

Wow, here we are closing in on the last day of May!! And I got a big NO from the physiotherapist on doing a bit of gardening. She said if I can figure out a way to plant my raised gardens without bending at the waist or turning to the side I could go for it. I have to tell you, I think it is impossible. I think my kids are coming out Monday to give me a hand. They were busy doing siding, golfing, etc. this weekend. I would never complain about them as they really do help lots when they can and I know they will help, just might not be on my timetable!! I have a couple of really ugly jobs for them to do that I don't think I will give them advance warning about. I want them to dig out my prickly rose bush and dig up the soil and dandelions in one of my shrub beds. The one where I want to but the herbs. They do ok in the raised garden but take up way too much space. My husband has been trying to get our boat repaired so that it will float in the water this year. It has been dry docked for about 3 years and he is getting restless to get it in the water. The bottom of the boat is done, the hull is painted with the stuff to keep it clean. Now he is getting ready to paint the rest of the boat. It is not a small job!! I am not sure if he is doing any work inside the boat, I don't ask questions! He has not offered to help with my gardens so I haven't asked.

I did go around the yard and took some pictures of my trees in bloom and other stuff but I haven't put them on the computer or figured out how to post them here. I did once before so know I can again.

    Better run. Take care. Gayla:smile:

Another rainy day and possible storms later this afternoon. My sister and I canceled our trip to the Four Winds Casino since it is about a two hour drive and we didn't want to drive in possible storms.
Probably saved myself money but am disappointed I won't see my sister.

Marie, are you able to switch us over to another board for June? We will keep going here until you can, unless they lock us out. Hope you are feeling good and getting stronger everyday.

Gayla that really sucks about your back. Seems when we have the most to do that is when something happens to postpone our intentions. Just listen to your doctor and don't mess up your back. Sounds like you have great kids who will be there to help you. Have patience and just wait for them .

Ellen, Elli's blog is at www.ellisnewhouse.blogspot.com If you type that into your browser address bar it will come up with her house pictures. remember to put a dot after house and after blogspot Good luck.
You should be so proud of your weight loss, losing 5 pounds is a great accomplishment. How wonderful for you that you reached your goal for May. :flowerforyou:

Elli, this is a new month and we both have to lose the last 5 pounds this month no matter what. :explode:
I am setting this goal for myself and I am going to also set a goal to drink more water. I know we can do this with more determination. Are you with me????
