I work damned hard to make this body I have. I'm sure women do the same. It is nice to receive compliments on a FITNESS website that has other fitness enthusiasts on it.

If you don't like the picture or the thread content, simply bypass it. There is nothing on this website that is anywhere near porn.

I think sometimes peoples low self confidence on this site makes them externalize it and try to bring other people down. Its is very very rare I see anyone in very good shape say something like this.

    Live and let live.

Just for clarification, when I hit my goal size/body composition, you'll be lucky if I'm wearing anything...

    Winning!

People don't workout hard to post pics of themselves in turtlenecks.

I'm not sure I see the point. Fitness matters so you can display your body on the internet?

    on a fitness site?! Yes.

My bad. I thought it was about health.

I think some of these pictures are quite important. I’ve seen people feeling down because after 25, 50, or more pounds they don’t see a difference in themselves, even when they have the pictures to look at for themselves. However, when they post the before and after shots you can plainly see the rear lifted, the tummy shrink, or a roll or divot missing from the before to the after. Without a bikini shot to help us point this out to our fellow mpfers they would still be walking around completely disheartened for not seeing a difference.

For me it’s more of a “here’s my muscles, hear me roar” with the rest of my lifting ladies (and gents). Am I looking bigger, smaller, how’s my lean mass, this is visually where I am, this is where I want to be. Not all fitness goals can be measured on some sort of numerical matrix, some are visual. It seems to me that your idea of what defines fitness is very narrow.

What is your opinion on girls that take pictures of themselves showing off or flaunting "their goods "in their bras, or arms covering what should be x rated?

I have a high opinion of them.
    And post it on here?

    Cool beans by me
How much skin is acceptable to show in a photo? (and I'm not just talking about the bikini pics).

As much as they feel comfortable in showing.
    Isn't this a fitness site??

    Correct. Well observed.
Well I'm on here to get help with weight loss and fitness.

You'll find plenty of help here so you've come to the right place.
I really don't need to see pic that you might be on a porn site.

That's cool because you won't see any here.
    Don't get me wrong,

    I won't.
I think it's great if a girl has enough confidence to show themselves off like that,

    Hooray. So do I.
but can't we keep it tasteful?

    Yes, and they already are.
I'm sure she's posting the pictures to get attention from guys or maybe even other girls...

Maybe but there's nothing wrong with wanting to be found desirable.
Anyways I think its extremely distasteful and should not be allowed

I don't and think there should be more of it. You say pot-a-to and I say po-ta-to. Let's call the while thing off...

    Any other questions just ask.

Meh, Unless I see nipples or genitals I'm really not that fussed.

While I'm quite shy about posting those of myself, I don't see the issue. Underwear shows just as much flesh as does a bikini - I know it's different but it shows the same amount of flesh so it shouldn't be a problem!

It's a fitness site for crying out load. If people want to show of their hard work then let them, if you don't agree, move away from the thread, or delete the person as a friend. Simples. Sometimes people want to show changes in their body / muscles etc that can't be shown through full clothes, and where else should they post them, fb isn't exactly appropriate is it?

    That's what I said, here:
Pretty much what I think of guys who "post up half-naked pictures." Especially when the waistband of the shorts is pushed down so low I'm pretty sure their "privare parts" is all that's holding them there.

Personally, I don't like it. I'd prefer everyone be clothed on this site. In fact, I often have to look away. But, since we all differ on how much we want or don't want to see, I just look the other way.

If it's about being healthy and not about appearance, then there's no need for pictures at all, IMO. SO I do what I advise others to do. Don't post a half-naked pic. Or don't post a pic at all. Don't look. If you don't mind or it doesn't matter? Look. Post. My issue is with people who expect everyone to do what they want. That pisses me off.

But I don't think you can equate people not preferring to pose in a bikini as proof they lack self-confidence. I absolutely see some people who refuse to pose that way who are very self-confident, and a LOT of people posing in bikinis who clearly lack self-confidence. You can't assume one from the other.

Many people here ask for advice on how to achieve their goals. Many people here give advice on how to achieve those goals. I'm personally more inclined to believe someone if they have some kind of evidence to back up what their saying.

If someone is telling me that I shouldn't lift any more than 3# dumbbells and should eat 1200 calories a day, and someone else is saying to lift heavy and eat 2000 calories a day... I'm going to believe the one who can show me what their plan has done for them.

Lucky for my huge appetite, the heavy lifters who eat a lot had better evidence. :drinker:

I think they're wrong! You don't have to show off your skin to show your progress. Doesn't it display in your ticker anyways? Call me conservative but if these girls are showing their skin here to any guy that can potentially see them and get turned on then what the heck is left for their husbands? If you show your body to everyone then its not special. Showing skin is not confidence! Confidence is knowing you look good without needing the approval of other people. Sorry but its the truth!

    WTF.

Have you ever been to a pool? The beach?

Maybe YOU feel confident covered from head to toe, I feel confident half naked AND covered head to toe.

Oh, and many people actually gain weight when transforming their bodies from flab to fit, and that's not gonna show in a ticker.

A little less judgement, and a little more naked, please.
Why are you attacking my opinion? WTF I thought i was entitled to my own ****ING opinion.

It is all about being healthy, fit is healthy, showing a fit body is not a horrible thing... A lot of these people have worked damn hard on their bodies... they motivate me personaly. I could care less how FIT they are, there are some on here that are larger, they show themselves in bikinis, or bathing suits or w/e and you know what happened when I saw these people? I got a little more confident.

If you have to look away sometimes perhaps the internet isn't for you. Do you look away from the bra and panty section of a Catalogue? My guess is not , what is the difference between that and being on the internet.

I honestly do not get the whole nude/partially nude is bad thing, when did nudity become a horrible thing??? Nudity is natural, its a beautiful thing... if you are seriously so modest that half naked pictures bother you .. you should re-evaluate life, because there are a whole lot worse things then someone standing infront of a camera in a bikini or in their bra and panties.

    My thoughts exactly!

I haven't read everything but I think the ones where they're dressed in a thong underwear or some such thing is offensive. If it's something that can be worn to the beach-or even a bra-is not tacky. I agree with the whole showing off your work, etc but I don't think it's necessary to show black lace underwear pics. Especially in a forum where guys and girls are present.
