Happy Mother’s Day back to all the Black teamer Mommies!

Lynnie – Ew. I don’t mind sharing food with a kid but I’ve never shared a drink through a straw. *gag*

Beth & Andrew – Your boys are adorable! I love the look while he’s staring at the cake!

Jeannie – If you enjoy kid pictures, my grandchildless friend, let me share with you Harley’s 8 month pictures. I think of this as her trainer outfit. Like a little Jillian telling you that if she can do push-ups, so can you!
    serious.jpg

Marla – How far do you go with sweets? Like just no cake and cookies or nothing sweet? Like my granola bars have chocolate chips in them? I should do something like this but I have really bad willpower, especially in the evenings. I’ve gotten where I don’t binge on sweets but I still have a few Hershey’s kisses or an ice cream bar at night.

Lori-- that baby is so, stinkin' cute-- oh my gosh--

For the sweets, yep-- no cake, cookies, chocolate, ice cream-- the desserty stuff that we all love just so bloomin' much, and is so bad for us. I don't buy granola bars often, but personally I wouldn't consider them-- and I just had a couple everlasting gobstoppers-- jawbreaker's-- but I don't count those either, because they don't "hook" me and make me want more.

We had a barbeque yesterday, and I had one little piece of cake-- which tasted so good, I had another little piece today along with a little piece of "lemonade roll"-- some lemon sherbet/lemon ice cream thing my son brought home from Friendly's-- just teeny pieces, but this is what I do if I don't put a moratorium on 'em--

So I'm going to June 5, and then will hop on another challenge until probably 4th of July--

I REALLY wanted to get to goal by my birthday-- and I'm so flippin' close-- this couldn't hurt.

Jeannie, Sam, Lori-- yayyy-- way to jump on this bandwagon-- 2vsj1nm.gif

Way to go-- no sweets til June 5 it is!!!

This is going to be hard because I am addicted to sugar! but maybe it will help lose the 4 pounds I want to lose before we go up to NY. It would be great to be under 170 but 175 would be ok with me. 9 weeks until we go if I lose 1 pound a week I will make it.

    Can I use splenda?

that is going to part of it for me. Cut down on the 4 packs of sweet and low and 2 packs of equal each day.

    :drinker:

okay-- I'm trying to concentrate-- but I can't-- trying to work but all I'm thinking about is my daughter-- gaah.gif

She's on the golf course right now trying to get into this week's LPGA event in Clifton, New Jersey-- she's tried two years in a row, and just missed last year by a shot or two-- I'm dying. She started out the day leaving 75 minutes late, due to DH who promptly then put more stress on this poor 17 year old child than she needed--

Breathe in-- breathe out-- in-- out-- in-- out--

okay-- more later-- I'll let you know if she qualifies. The tourney would start Thursday, but she has to qualify today to be allowed into the field-- in, out, in, out-- and hubby wonders why I can't watch her play. I can't even know she's on the course or I go apoplectic. In, out, in, out--

Later, gang! Heading to work-- sigh.gif

Well, as long as it's not my husband giving me the updates, I don't mind knowing hole by hole what's going on-- but, truly I'd rather find out how she did when all is said and done. He gets so animated, and angry if she makes "stupid' mistakes, blah, blah, blah-- and then I hear an earful-- I tell him constantly, "Call me when she's done !!!!!!"

My husband gets so mad at me for it, but it is what it is-- I hate the pressure of knowing she's out there. Last year, she won the New Jersey Women's Open-- and I showed up for exactly one hole of golf, and was a nervous wreck. I had to go inside the club house until I knew she had won.

Mama Ostrich over here-- keep my head in the sand until the pressure's over-- whaddyagonnado? Maybe I wouldn't be so frantic if there wasn't so much at financial stake here-- we pay a fortune for this, that we can't afford-- so when she crashes and burns, it kills me. I know you have to take the good with the bad, but still-- gaah.gif There-- I feel better.

Well, I told my 15 year old, foolishly, that I only wanted good updates-- and haven't heard anything til just now-- Sarah is 6 over going into the last hole. Faith thinks both girls she's playing with played better-- another $200 plus down the drain.

I'm gonna be breaking somebody's neck tonight-- maybe the one who put her behind the curve this morning, by rushing her out of here in a typical melodramatic last minute dash since he never effing makes a decent plan and sticks to it, instead of seeking to soothe nerves? Ummm-- maybe it'll be him-- the guy who says he has to "be on her bag" to help her then every time he caddies for her, she blows up?

I want to swear so bleeping bad, you just can't know -- sighhhh.

Oh well-- I have much to say on this topic-- how the game of golf has ruined my life, ruined my finances, ruined my health, ruined my children's lives, ruined my marriage-- but I won't. I know I'm a fairweather friend-- when Sarah does well, I'm cool. When she plays poorly, I'm all over hub's case for blowing money and time we don't have--

    swear1.gif

    I'll shut up now-- swear1.gifswear1.gifswear1.gifswear1.gif

Okay, well, maybe now I'll shut up-- sigh.gif:mad:  :explode: :grumble:

    Breathe, In.....out......In......out.

    The platau has broken.......
    Your ran a 5k.........
    Your drainage hole closed up....
    Focus on the positive....

    *Soothing vibes*.....

    Repeat after me
"My husband is not a boob and I love him."
"He has the best of intentions and is helpless without me."
"Stupidity is a trait all men possess...I cannot hold his inferiority against him. God made men this way and I am sure he had his reasons"....

    Breath, In.....out....in....out....

Oh well-- laughing at the drainage hole.

And I do love the snot out of him-- he does what he thinks is best trying to help her along in this career-- she wants to try and make it pro-- sighhh.

    Marla – gaah.gif , sigh.gif & swear1.gif away. We're hear to listen.

I have already failed the sweets challenge. It was by accident but still. Harley, my mom, and I went to lunch and shopping. When we got to Wal*Mart, Harley was getting cranky, so we stopped at the McDonald's inside. Mom shared an ice cream cone with Harley and I got a caramel sundae. It wasn't until halfway through that I realized a caramel sundae is a sweet. :frown:

You are stronger than sugar, Miss Sam-- steady as she goes!!!!!

Way to go with the cookie-- see? Isn't the challenge soooo great? First one I did was with the delightful Mrs. Beans in October, and it was incredible! Having the accountability of the challenge and your buddies makes you not want to even lick your fingers!!!

Awesome work, my fine feathered friend-- good new AV, too.

I can't seem to get back up to my 3 miles, yet-- still get tuckered after two. But, it's been a tiring weekend with all the hosting we did, and I'm getting the sniffles that are invading the clan-- so I'll be content for tonight with my 2 mile run and one mile walk. Rome wasn't built in a day, right?

I've got my eye on my next 5k, the Friday before Father's Day in my hometown, at the park where my mommy used to take us for picnics-- had the coolest "Rocket Slide--" so, I'll get back up to snuff.

Post golf trauma has subsided-- Sarah is very disappointed, but handling it like the lovely young lady she is. I feel so sad for her. She really thought this was the year. She's been playing so well--

Oh well-- what's a mommy to do but hug and love on her?

Heading to where? Work! Right-- you all guessed right.

    :flowerforyou: to all--

Awesome job, Shuntae-- that's what this challenge does so well-- makes us mindful of the things we pop in our mouth mindlessly and habitually-- great job!!!!!!!

I just returned from a trip to the grocery store and refused an offer of a bite of my child's delicious looking donut-- *drool*

    Hey all!

Got my last chance work out in early as today was a rare tuesday off from work. Week 9 day 1 couch to 5k and some strength training. Got home and DW wanted to hit the bike path for a walk so I joined her. 3 mile run followed by 3 mile walk. I AM SORE. but it was a good last chance work out. Total of 1224 calories in the bank. I give alot of credit to those on the no sweets challenge. I will however not be joining you on this one. I have a low fat ice cream treat at night that I just cant give up right now. The reason for that is a bit of a confession. I was kinda ashamed to admit I had the habit to begin with but a couple of month ago I quit smoking. I feel stupid thinking that I had even had the habit to begin with and while I never did it at home it was more of a work thing and the only thing that I have ever tried to deceive my darling wife about. The fact that she still loves me after all the lying I did about it proves how amazing she really is. Anyway, I have been smoke free for a couple of months which needless to say has helped ALOT with the running. Shamefull I know. Anyway point being that I AM NOT giving up my ice cream treat right now. lol Can't wait for the biggest loser finally. It's gonna be a GREAT shot of inspiration. See you all later.

I literally swept/mopped the floor for 1.5 hours. NO JOKE!!! :noway:

I was sweaty and smelly and when I logged light house cleaning it was over 300 calories burned.

TOM came today and all I want is SWEETS!!!!  I haven't had any except the splenda in my coffee. :ohwell:

Hopefully the scale will be nice to me now that PMS should be over! :grumble:

I might get another workout in after BL tonight! Can't wait to see what kristin and that one guy from the orange team looks like.

    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

That's a lot like Dave. He smoked since high school and quit when Harley was born. I hated that he smoked but he always promised he'd quit when we had kids so I didn't give him too much grief about it. It's been 8 months now.

He was the same way, never smoked in the house but would come home from smoking in his car all day so I still smelled it. Between quitting smoking and losing over 50 pounds, he has all kinds of energy. We can take a walk, me pushing the stroller and Dave with a dog leash in each hand and we end up quitting because the DOGS get tired.

Dave also will not be joining in the no-sweets because, while he's not a big sweets eater, he eats a weight watchers ice cream bar most nights for a treat.

Okay, I am quitting the no-sweets challenge. I got strawberries and short cake for dessert. Dave said, "I don't want to be mean but isn't shortcake 'sweets'?" There's too much stuff that I guess doesn't even register with me as 'sweets'. That probably means that I really need this challenge but I don't want to keep feeling like I'm failing because I'm thinking of things like doughnuts, chocolate cake, or a candy bar. Maybe I'll try again at another time but I can't do it this time.
