Congrats! You have an amazing story!0

Fantastic job. A real inspiration. You say you lift heavy. This, too, is my love. Do you do power lifting, olympic style or just whatever as long as it involves weights. Being strong is very empowering, don't you agree?0

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have been "dieting" all this time. Usually I am under my calorie allotment but too high in sugar. I only get 33 grams per day and my 1/2 grapefruit in the morning uses 11 of those. I like fruit so my sugar is always too high. I have just added protein whey shakes to boist protein on the advice of my trainer. The exercises I do are:
squats three sets of twelve, bench presses 45 lbs, hamstring curls 20 lbs, crunches 70 lbs. pull-ups 12 lbs bicep curls 12lbs, triceps, lat pull downs... all sets are repeated three times three days a week. My trainer says I do alot better than some much younger people. He is so attentive and supportive. I wouldn't be so faithful about working out if it weren't for him. I walk on the treadmill for 20-40 minutes. I think that's my weak point. He would like me to walk more. Aaargh!
What is the name of the book you recommended about strength training?
I have real sugar cravings and think I am addicted by the way I respond to them. It's an almost automatic response when sugar is put in front of me. Once I start I don't stop.
Thanks again for your interest. I am so impressed with the way every one is so supportive of one another. This is a very nice list to read.0 -
You are one good looking lady!!0

Great progress! I'm 54, so I'm right there with you. I was shocked when I read that if you're 50+ you should keep your sodium intake to 1,500; unbelievably I can do that most of the time. Your before and after photos are fantastic, and inspiring.0

I am also a woman of a certain age, and I want to congratulate you on your success and attitude!
Keep preaching it, too many feel like giving up. :flowerforyou: There is life after 50. . . and rarely pregnancy...so rejoice!0 -
As a 56 year old myself I have to say "it is Never too late to get fit" and those who do are just not motivated to get up and do what it takes to take care of themselves..but you are doing it! and so are many others of us who are showing that it can be done..keep it up and good luck on reaching your goals,,..they are attainable!0

Thank you for sharing your joy. You are an inspiration! (Including to the not-so-young and not-so-old alike!)0

Thank you so much for posting. I can relate to your size (both height and weight) and battle of the bulge. I just turned 60 and it is like chizziling cement to get the weight off. I too have the borderline numbers and do not want to go that direction. You didn't mention, but did your numbers get back to where they should be? I really did need to hear that you are NEVER too old. Thanks, again.0

Your story should inspire everyone, but especially those of us who are starting the same journey with similar goals. Thank you for sharing... from another 55 year old!0

FABULOUS!!! It's so great to see someone in my age bracket overcoming this issue with such success.
You look fantastic!
Your story is definitely inspiring to me and gives me the hope that I can do this as well.
I'm 51 and I have stopped dieting too and look forward to my 365 day results.0 -
